Weather much brighter today. Holiday house has a dryer so I've bunged the washing on as it's better to take home clean dry clothes. Slept lousily but not sure that would have been any different at home.

Meeting dps today for fish and chip lunch, we are on a go slow this morning as ds still in the shower

Mrsmadevans · 11/10/2020 09:59

Morning everyone 😀
It's a beautiful morning here makes your heart lift 🤗
Wolf it sounds a perfect day. Enjoy yourselves and have a plaice & chips for me ! 🤗
Can you tell l am happy this morning 😅

Em that's a lot of clothes lovely us parents have a lot of work ❤️ enjoy riding hope the weather is good for you ☺️
Life so glad you are feeling better today 💐 l feel everyone needs a big hug and a hot Choc sometimes 🤗
Off to MumBobs , DH is cross we are stuck behind a horsebox but l don't mind it is such a beautiful day ☺️

ememem84 · 11/10/2020 10:21

mrs yep - it includes some bedding and towels so it’s not all clothes but yeah so much laundry. I’m/we’re pretty good with usually the only doing a couple of loads a day. It’s the putting away we fall apart on. Sigh.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/10/2020 10:29

Enjoy today wolf. I suspect it will be busy today.
Washing out here can't miss a drying day

Unescorted · 11/10/2020 10:41

em we are rubbish at putting away too. Although this pm I will tackle it.

It is sunny today YaY!. One load out and another to go.... the volume of washing has dropped dramatically it appears.

Tayto glad the card works.

We are going for a walk onto the Northern Edge, but are on a go slow here too.

Mrs I am putting my good mood down to the sunshine on a weekend....

northender · 11/10/2020 12:24

Tayto I'm the same with Christmas food supplies, I have no self control!
Girlie good to hear dd has been more her normal self.
Life glad you're better today, good luck with the viewings
wolf enjoy today, it'll be lovely in the sun. Not jealous of the f&c at all!
Now I wish we were going for a walk, given the weather, but we had already planned to have lunch out with my parents before everywhere closes. It'll be nice though, dc are coming too. Dh and I are eating out tomorrow night too as he got a £50 voucher for a local pub/restaurant when he left his old job. I heard yesterday it is closing for good on Wednesday, so we have booked. I will be rolling back to the gym!
Am planning to do some quilting later, aiming for my Christmas quilt to be ready for Dec 1st. We don't put decs up that early, but I think for the effort I've put into it 5 weeks a year isn't too much to ask for it to be out. It will go over the back of a sofa and is there to be snuggled under. Inspired by you all, I started some Christmas planning last night, the lists have started.
I have also decided, if the expected restrictions come in tomorrow then I'm going to organise get togethers with friends over zoom at weekends. We can co-ordinate food & drink, have a theme, whatever works, but it will be good to "socialise" with people we are seeing so rarely and have something to look forward to.

I posted earlier but my post seems to have disappeared into cyberspace - or maybe I posted it on the wrong thread Blush.

Anyway, I had a nice breakfast of poached egg on toast with avocado on the side. Tried to convince myself I was having a fancy hotel breakfast Smile. I'm wondering if I should get an egg poacher? I always lose the whites of the eggs and end up with a yolk and a tiny bit of white around it.

Dinner should be nice too - lamb chops with mash, sprouts and carrot/turnip mash. All drowned in gravy.

I noticed two water marks (stripes) running down my newly painted sitting room wall Sad. There seems to be a leak from my en suite. I don't know if I need to get a plumber in or if I need to get someone to seal the perimeter of the shower tray. Might ask my brother to have a look at it.

DD and I are watching Enola Holmes later.

Should be a NSD.

I've been eyeing up some cross stitch kits. DD was looking for present ideas from me so I suggested a cross stitch kit for beginners. I'd love to sign up for a class but that's not an option atm so I'll have to make do with online tutorials.

Girlie lovely to read your post last night - you sound much brighter.

Enjoy your day Wolf

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Mrsmadevans · 11/10/2020 15:16

Em it's the very worst thing putting it all away, l have piles here to put away but l am leaving it for now because Dd2 will be taking a lot down to her house so there is no point. That is what l am telling myself anyway! Grin
Tayto hope you get that en suite sorted asap. Your food sounds delicious Smile
Unescorted me too isn't it lovely! This weather makes me so happy Smile
North sounds good to me , 5 weeks is not too long to have your Christmas quilt out at all imho Xmas Smile
Like a lot of us l have started my Christmas shopping , Aldi's mostly , todays wares were a Choceur Almond bar, fruit & nut Choceur bad , Specially selected florentines and Salted cashews Grin £10 spends Aldi's .
Every little helps Grin

Bornlazy · 11/10/2020 16:03

God I hate putting away clean washing! I've only just this minute cleared the dining room table with piles distributed to both ds to put away. I'm convinced ds2 just puts some of it back in the washing basket 🤔 One of my cats likes to make a nice bed on top of the clean washing which is very annoying.

This is going to be a tight month for me as I have 4 birthdays and it's a 5 week month. Might need to dip into money I'd put away for Christmas. I want to crack on with Christmas shopping too so think I'll need to.

Wolfcub · 11/10/2020 17:31

The weather lied. I have never been wetter in my life.

Ds hard work today but I think we've just about survived (and there's gin)

Ddog was scared of the wave sounds and panicked- my coat is somewhat paw print patterned

Fish and chips eaten indoors and then cuppa at our holiday house with dparents

Went up the coast this afternoon for a change of scene

Second lot of washing on, will be taking home only woollens and things worn today and pjs as dirty stuff

North have a fab meal out, Unescorted have a lovely walk, Em enjoy riding, Tayto I love poached eggs and avocado your breakfast sounds great.

Girlie so pleased you had a lovely day with dd

Mrs enjoy the lovely weather

ememem84 · 11/10/2020 17:43

DD napped!!! In her bed!!!! No fuss!!!! Wahhhooooo!!!!!!!!!

She may not sleep later but the tide is turning on nap gate!!!!

Laundry not put away. We went to the park. £7!!! Hot chocolate coffee apple juice. £7!!!!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/10/2020 17:45

Oh dear wolf. Blooming English weather

Wahoo on nap.

NSd achieved

Unescorted · 11/10/2020 19:05

The walk was busy - I suspect a lot of people were out just in case it is not possible to travel over the county boarder on Monday. DH & I look as if we have never been on the hills before in our lives.... it is the fell running shoes that fool them b/c they just look like trainers. Anyway we had this poor pole & red topper trying to catch us up gasping for air in such a way that it sounded as if we were listening to one side of a phone sex recording. We may have sped up ever so gradually as we went up the hill.

AdoraBell · 11/10/2020 19:07

Yesterday was good. Meal out with parents was lovely and dad paid so even better!
Joined the Christmas bandwagon & ordered a bottle of Barra gin. Whether it makes it to Christmas or not may depend on today's announcements....

Morning everyone. I have absolutely lost the place with all the COVID regulations. All I know is that where I live in the Central Belt of Scotland we can't really do anything .... but I can still see my dm and my dc still live at home so I'm not as bothered as I otherwise might have been.

I have heard of more and more people testing positive here and had another distant relative die so I am abiding by the rules and I am encouraging my dm to stay off buses as much as possible.

Spends today - £43 on Tesco delivery. I need to run the freezer in the garage down before it switches itself off for the winter. Contemplating buying chest freezer suitable for outbuildings but would need to rearrange garage to accommodate it.

Wolf I love coming home with clean laundry from a holiday. Glad you are enjoying yourself.

Bornlazy · 12/10/2020 10:20

Well scrap that with the Tesco delivery as I've just had a call to say they can't deliver as they've too many drivers off sick. They've given me a £10 off my next shop as compensation.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/10/2020 13:57

£240 Easter holidays deposit

Wolfcub · 12/10/2020 14:43

Home. Unpacked. Furniture moved, floors swept and skirtings washed ready for carpet fitters. Wool wash on. £150 drawn out to pay fitters tomorrow, really need to transfer some from savings. £3.60 parking, £22 brunch

Need to exit ocAdo order

Just having cuppa and contemplating what's next.

Unescorted · 12/10/2020 15:19

wolf you make me feel exhausted just reading.

Born you, me and most people are confused by all the different versions of The Rooolz. I keep trying to understand but they make so little sense. 3 miles away people cannot even contemplate meeting, but they can all pop over the county boarder and meet up.

The weather has turned blerrrrkkkk again. I just want to see the sun for more than a couple of hours.

Happierwithouthim · 12/10/2020 15:34

tayto absolutely don't buy an egg poacher, half fill a cup with cold water crack in your egg, put into microwave half covered with any spare lid you've got lying around for 40-100 secs depending on microwave.

I had a microwave egg poacher, this is way better Grin

I didn't leave the house all weekend so hence my lack of posts here.

I spent €12.25 in the local shop which is 1km walk on Sat eve, and that's the furthest I went. We do have a scenic spot on our doorstep, literally 2 minutes walk and bf visited both days so I wasn't entirely cut off from the real world.

Went to my friends house for vegan dinner at 8.30pm on Friday night we shared a bottle of wine(Brancott Estate reduced from €15.50 to €11.31 in supervalu) and I had 3 cans of pear cider(3 for €6) while she raided her stash of beer! We chatted until 4.50am and had just the loveliest time. She had to work following day poor thing.

Happierwithouthim · 12/10/2020 15:35

Glad to hear of negative covid test results and napping children.

There is a fear of higher restrictions here too.

AdoraBell · 12/10/2020 16:50

£4.50-ish in farm shop.
