Hurrah. Definitely start small with chickies. I take it all is good at uni.

Lovemaltesers · 10/10/2020 11:00

We bought a Joseph Joseph expandable draining board with our wedding vouchers. I love it, but not sure I could have justified the cost otherwise.

Glad to hear contact has been made unescorted 🍾

I feel sick today. Urrgh. I had face to face contact with someone who is awaiting a test result, who lives with someone who has tested positive. I suspect the feeling sick is anxiety related.

Lovemaltesers · 10/10/2020 11:01

And I do realise it is ridiculous to be feeling anxious 😕

Lovemaltesers · 10/10/2020 11:16

The toothbrush caddy might have to make my Christmas list now 😂

Unescorted · 10/10/2020 11:31

Love it is not ridiculous to feel anxious. I would in similar circumstances. I guess it is something we will need to start getting used to, but while so much is unknown it will be difficult.

Hopefully you are unnecessarily (although understandably) anxious.

Yes we have made contact - it appears she is settling in. Her Boyf is already having to isolate b/c of a suspected case in his household. This sounds awful - but I am glad because it means dd will be forced to talk to people in her college and course.
I have written her a surprise post card that is totally random - but carries on the family tradition of a weekly postcard from Mummy to children sent to school (dh's family did boarding school....poor mites)

ChristmasSeacow · 10/10/2020 12:22

Ah, I used to love getting post in my pigeon hole at college Unescorted. Though that was before we all had mobiles etc. We used to queue outside the bar to use the 3 college pay phones. Ah, happy days I am so old

How lovely to be able to show your DC your childhood home Pumpkin! I was an army brat so nothing to show here...

Enjoy your trip Wolf, you defo deserve every nice treat you can get.

I too have started a Christmas box. The BOGOF paprika pringles have gone in. DH’s eyes lit up when he saw the shopping.... then turned to sorrow as I snatched them away from under his nose Grin. You can keep your stollen, marzipan filth Grin

I did Pilates yesterday morning and my inner thighs are absolutely killing me today, I can hardly put my shoes on. I am pathetic 😂 . The teacher really knows her stuff and the reformer equipment is great for controlling the movements so I think it’s doing me a lot of good. The 2:1 sessions with my friend are pricey but we’re going to keep going and sign up for another 5 weeks.

Today I need to buy curtain lining for my Halloween bag sewing project (to line the DC’s bags and make them weightier) and buy a couple of troll beads for my DSis’s birthday. I’ve just spent £9 in cafe (after-ballet date with DD) and £14 in coop on top up stuff. Still need potatoes for tomorrow but didn’t want to carry them so will send DH later.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Taytocrisps · 10/10/2020 12:25

How's everyone? DD has persuaded me to put up the Hallowe'en decorations. I know it's way too early but she's at her Dad's next weekend and she says the weekend after (24th & 25th) is too late. In the end I said, "Feck it", and told her she could go ahead. There's not much fun and joy in life at the moment. It'll make her happy and it's not going to harm anyone else.

Most of my wreath making stuff has arrived. I'm waiting on one more thing which is coming from the US or possibly China and may or may not arrive in time for Hallowe'en. It's not essential though.

I got a text to say my card has been locked due to unusual activity this morning! Thing is, I don't know if the text is a scam. I'll ring the bank in a minute.

I've to head into town shortly to pick up cat litter and some picture cord for hanging a new picture.

Unescorted · 10/10/2020 12:34

sea so did I.

Tayto bank ringing sounds a good idea.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/10/2020 12:45

My anxiety is sky hight today. Anxiety over a possible contamination is not daft (better word needed there but can't think right now) it's world mental health day today.

Put the decs up. Mine would be if not for viewings.

£69 Aldi. Q for m&s was round the block. Only wanted to look at Christmas stuff. £16.20 skatepark

Taytocrisps · 10/10/2020 13:22

I'm attempting to phone the bank. I've been on hold for ages. If I can't get through in the next while, I'm going to head into town. I'd call into the bank in person except it's Saturday so the bank is closed. If it is a hoax, the call centre might be inundated with calls from other anxious account holders. I've enough cash to buy the things I need today.

Wolfcub · 10/10/2020 13:37

£11 tea and scones, met a lovely young couple with a very cute one year old
£7 lunch
£20 pizza from the deli ordered for tea, it's heat and eat so we will collect later and cook at home
£3 sweets
£38 gin

Will need to spend a couple of pounds on parking later

13000 steps so far. We've been soaked to the skin. TAking bobble hats and woolly gloves, and possibly wellies to the beach later

Agree with Snuggly re quality and practicality of Joseph Joseph stuff I've had some as gifts and it's fab

Glad she's been in touch Unescorted

Love hope you feel better soon and it's ok to be anxious

Agree re uni post in pigeonholes Sea, we had one phone for 50 and my dad wouldn't speak to me until the Christmas after I went to uni so post was most welcome

I'm going to get on the Xmas box bandwagon. The deli we've ordered pizza from was excellent so I may do a bit extra shopping there

Looking forward to seeing your completed wreath Tayto

I saw these fab Halloween hand made bits in a shop last night, I love them and also love decorating for Halloween, my neighbourhood not so much I threw ds a Halloween party for his birthday just after he started primary school - did not go down well!

SnugglySnerd · 10/10/2020 15:45

I agree with the marzipan Sea, horrible stuff! Dh likes it though. He has a very very sweet tooth!

Pleased she has made contact Unescorted!

Sorry to hear people are feeling anxious. It is understandable at the moment though I think. Take care.

Lavender is a good idea Girlie, I used to put Lush sleepy cream on the dcs before bed and I would sleep really well with the lovely lavender smell in the room. I remember once dh knocked the pot over and loads of went all over the dts' carpet, they actually slept well that night and we joked we should just coat everything in it!

It has been an unexpected nsd. This is because I went to the shops, parked and realised I'd forgotten my bank card so I went back home and couldn't be bothered going out in the rain again!

apumpkinaday · 10/10/2020 16:11

We’ve come for a drive out and then will go for a walk in somewhere nice and we might have dinner out. Does anyone feel like there’s not much to do lately. I want to take the kids swimming but no leisure pools are open here.

I will start walking that way more often mrs, so many lovely memories there. DD is very happy with her bunk beds, she actually slept in her own bed all night until 7am!. So I’m extremely happy.

Glad the holiday house is lovely wolf

un bless you, I’m going to be a mess when my 2 leave but I bet you’re so proud! Glad to hear she has called!. I hope you warmed up.

north I love when the radio does some ‘throwback’ songs. I do sit in my car and cry at some of them because of the memories😂.

Sorry about not sleeping snuggly. I’m overcompensating for Halloween too, on a Christmas thread I’m on someone linked some cross stitches and I’m considering getting a Halloween cross stitch, there were a few vegetable ones which remind me of the harvest festivals at school. I need to stop myself though because my house is cluttered as it is.

girlie enjoy your day with you dad!

love you’re not being ridiculous to be anxious!

sea we are very lucky! The DC couldn’t understand that someone else owned it though and wanted to go in😂. Great going with the Christmas box. Great going on the Pilates.

My Halloween decs have been up for a while now tayto I imagine my Christmas ones will be up soon, there’s little else to do. I hope you manage to sort out the card.

I’m sorry your anxiety is so high life💐

I love the decs wolf

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/10/2020 16:27

Marzipan Envy not envy

Wolfcub · 10/10/2020 16:57

Marzipan is the food of the gods, have none of you ever had a summer manfood tart it's heaven

ememem84 · 10/10/2020 17:01

Two parties with ds. Exhausted now.

First one was at 11 with bouncy castle and party food and so so many balloons. (Plenty of coffee).

Second one was frozen themed. With princesses and a piñata. (And booze)

Dh dropped me and ds off at party one and took Dd to go get car tyre fixed. Then picked us up for party 2.

Managed to get some laundry done too.

Dd still not napping in her cot. It’s getting to not be funny now. 12 days left until this leap supposedly ends.

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2020 17:47

Afternoon everyone Smile
Another lover of the Joseph Joseph range so colourful and such excellent quality Smile

Taytocrisps · 10/10/2020 17:47

I've been to the shops and my bank card appears to be working fine Hmm

I'm about to clean the kitchen and clean out the cats' litter trays.

Dinner will be leftovers from a Thai take away last night. DD thought Strictly was back tonight but it's another 'Best of' show, so we'll give it a miss and watch something on Netflix instead.

Unescorted you must be relieved DD is starting to settle a bit.

Fingers crossed Love

Seacow I felt sorry for your DH having the Christmas goodies snatched away from him Smile. I'll leave Christmas goodies until the last minute because I've no self-control - I'd get the munchies one evening and that would be the end of them.

life I hope your anxiety eases soon.

I love that shop display Wolf

em I can't imagine kids' parties happening anytime soon here. Our restrictions (Level 3) mean you can only have people from one other household in your home and no other social gatherings are permitted except for weddings (25 guests). Hope DD starts sleeping soundly soon - you must feel like a zombie.

ememem84 · 10/10/2020 19:50

One party was only 20 people allowed. The other max 40 people. I don’t see this happening for much longer here.

I do indeed feel like a zombie. Dh is apprently even more tired. He’s making it into a competition.

Currently on bed with dd. Trying to encourage her to drop off by ignoring her. This has worked the last few nights. Once she’s asleep she gets popped into her bed.

apumpkinaday · 10/10/2020 21:55

em DD’s friends don’t seem to be doing parties☹️ I’d love her to go to one now! Sorry DD isn’t napping

mrs they are brill! Very weird to think some of the memories I have from there I was DD’s age and one day she’ll be telling her own DC about her memories in our little home.

tayto glad to hear the phones sorted, annoying if someone’s scamming though.

We went for a woodland walk in the wyre Forrest, a cafe was open so popped in for a milkshake and a cake. £22 spent. Dinner was beans on toast

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 10/10/2020 22:09

Evening all, we've had a nice but busy day.

Ended up spending a fair bit in the discount village but have bought quite a few Christmas presents, will have to move a chunk of money over from my savings though. Thought it was as well to get the presents while they were cheaper than usual.

Was nice to see ddad, haven't seen as much of him as usual this year due to CV 🙁

Dd has been much more her normal self today which is lovely 😊

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2020 22:17

Pumpkin ahh that is so lovely ! £22 well spent l think , got to make the most of the good weather and days out like this are not ten a penny this time of the year . Also nowt wrong with good old beans on toast Smile
Em those numbers seem much larger than here, l actually couldn't tell you how many we are allowed now it is so confusing! Grin
Of course Dh is more tired than you Grin
Hope you get a good night sleep tonight Smile
Tayto glad your bank card worked fine Smile
Dd2 just come home , she has been at her house all day, it is coming along. DFS let her down over the delivery of her sofa though , she was bitterly disappointed, never mind l told her it was part of lifes learning curve Smile
Have a good night everyone , l actually didn't spend a penny today yay!

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2020 22:19

Girlie l had to post to say l am so pleased you had a wonderful day with your Dd & Ddad , well done on the Christmas pressies too! Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/10/2020 08:05

Better today thanks.

Love that display wolf. I might have a pootle down. Not today though as 2 viewing and mil for dinner.
6 people here max and only from our town.

Sounds like a lovely day walk in the woods then cake.
Yy to grab shopping while it's on offer

NSS planned today. But we will see

ememem84 · 11/10/2020 09:16

Riding today. Then that’s it.

May go for a walk but weather dependant.

Have thrown a load of towels in the wash and will be able to tumble them. The rest of the laundry I want to hang dry. But depends on space really.

Have 4 baskets of clean stuff to put away.
