How infuriating Wolf. Do you need a joiner to hang the doors? When I had my first flat I took my doors off and sent them to be dipped (they were covered in years of paint). When they came back I hung them myself just using some chunky screwdrivers underneath to act as wedges to hold them at the right height to screw then in. (However they were being re-hung so no holes needed drilling - I can see that might be more difficult to align).

Work is annoying and frustrating me already and it’s not even 10am.

Wolfcub · 08/09/2020 09:56

Sea sadly not a job I can do myself, frames and floors aren't square so all sides of doors will need adjusting and latch barrels put into the doors and handles fitted.

ememem84 · 08/09/2020 11:09

£2.50 on a flat white post nursery drop off pre work. I was super early so sat in the coffee shop and read some book until 845.

Getting hair cut this evening. Hoorah!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/09/2020 11:55

That's bloody annoying wolf. I would be billing b&q for joiner fees

Lovemaltesers · 08/09/2020 12:18

Totally infuriating wolf Angry

Had a rather pleasant trip with the current rules in place to the GP, apart from the pain in the ear. Just me in the waiting room so not sitting with other sickly people was a bonus. Got some antibiotics and an ear swab which has made the ear feel worse now Sad

AdoraBell · 08/09/2020 13:35

Hmm at the damaged doors wolf

Hope your ear feels better quickly maltesers

I’ve posted on the old thread, grocery delivery was about £83 yesterday.
Today I’ll get veg from farm shop and maybe a coffee in town.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 08/09/2020 18:35

Thank you MrsMadEvans! One thing about nights, they seem to go quickly. I’m having a big glass of cream soda to fortify me!
I love farm shops Adorabell. Ours does the best sausages!

Lovemaltesers · 08/09/2020 18:45

Ahhhh, there’s news reports saying the legal number of people meeting indoors may drop from 30 to a smaller number, which I guess will include private gardens too. Our magic number for wedding really is 20 after bumping off 6 people from the guest list so hoping there will be no knock on effects to weddings. All I want minimum is the ceremony with 20, anything else is a bonus!

Lovemaltesers · 08/09/2020 18:47

Ear feelsI guess much worse at the moment, and also feeling a bit hot 😱 but I still have a normal temperature

ememem84 · 08/09/2020 18:51

I’m at the hairdressers. My hair currently is just below boob length. I might go to just shoulder. Haven’t decided yet. But need a choppity chop chop.

Unescorted · 08/09/2020 18:55

Hi Toilet … I am going to end up calling you bog at some point. Sorry.

Duchess to be fair I can book through my work, but we only get 4 tests so I am waiting until I really need it. We all seem to have lost our coughs today and never developed a temperature. I think it is just a common and garden cold and snuffle.

Speaking of work OMFG..... what is going on with Mr Lewis' turn in the Commons today????!!!! At what point does the CS put down tools and says we cannot break the CS code of conduct.

em I used to have a really sore back until I got rid of my tote. This is another #covidsilverlining.

wolf that is awful. I would so bill B&Q for the joiners time. Sea I use magazines for the same purpose.

DH is away so the kids and I are having really different food - yesterday it was Chicken Kofta with a chilli & coffee coating. Sounds odd, but it is the best thing we have eaten for ages. recipe is here and well worth doing. You will thank me... Grin

Wolfcub · 08/09/2020 18:59

Just a reminder it's EWFL at 8pm, favourite frugal telly and you can yell fk off Gregg a lot which is therapeutic

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/09/2020 18:59

Can you taste the coffee?
I need to read both news reports as I'm CS and going to a wedding in 3 weeks

Wolfcub · 08/09/2020 19:07

Unescorted I missed the parliamentary whoohaa, what happened?

Unescorted · 08/09/2020 19:29

Wolf Brandon Lewis admitted the bill they are publishing tomorrow is going to break International law, but CS code means we can't break the law. Puts the DEUx in a sticky position.

Life it has a lovely smoky flavour that is really deep and rich.

howlathebees · 08/09/2020 20:03

Hi all, been a bit AWOL. Super busy, DS1 starts school tomorrow, just getting back into the swing of things. DH hasn’t been to work, he’s working drom home this week as his street was cordoned off and his boss said to make it easier WFH. I’m glad about it tbh

anorangeaday · 08/09/2020 20:07

Hello could I join you please? I’ve been lurking for a while as I really need to cut my spending down

Wolfcub · 08/09/2020 20:23

I may have booked a holiday for next year, it's exactly the same as the one we didn't get to go on this year due to Covid. Deposit and insurance paid.

Welcome new people

Unescorted, oh dear that does sound rather problematic, is that what cost us the perm sec from legal?

Unescorted · 08/09/2020 21:07

wolf I suspect so.

How amazing is Fletcher from EWFL????

Anorange welcome delurkers are always welcome.

northender · 08/09/2020 21:42

Can't really believe what's going on anymore. Ministry of Justice lost their Permanent Sec last week too.
Wolf nightmare about the doors. B& Q need to cough up for that.
Welcome newcomers. I may have to call you TP rather than toiletpaper, just seems wrong!
Having a better week here, work is crazy busy. Am enjoying having pre cooked meals at the weekend

Unescorted · 08/09/2020 21:50

North I didn't know MoJ PS went. We had a 12bln programme launched today with little coverage... there is so much news.
I am glad you are having a better week.

ememem84 · 08/09/2020 21:55

New shorter hair who dis?! It was waaaaay longer than I thought actually. Below boobie length. So a good 6 inches has been chopped off. Feels amazing. Cost £47! But worth every penny!

I missed EWFL! Mannnnnnn

Safely into a frugal September saving as we go...
toiletpaper · 08/09/2020 22:11

You can all call me whatever you like Grin emem your hair looks lovely! I cut mine myself the other day and went way too short Blush but my motto is hair grows!

ememem84 · 08/09/2020 22:16

That’s my thinking tp if I hate it grow it out. I dyed it pink over lockdown and figured if I hated it or ruined the bleached blonde bits at the ends it could always be chopped out.
