I've sent fluffy everyone best wishes.

Happierwithouthim · 21/09/2020 10:06

Poor fluffy and her dh, I do miss the regular posters who aren't here anymore.

In frugal news I've saved €200 on my diy divorce by availing of a special offer, ex transferred his half into my account yesterday so waiting to organise making the payment to the company today before offer expires Grin €175 each!! I never got money for anything so fast off him GrinGrin

love that's fab, so delighted that ye had a great day.

Eating cake no issue, although I failed to eat my lovely fudgy chocolate and walnut brownie on Sat night, and it was delicious, I just had no room for it Sad

No money with me today so can't spend anything, I did pay for breakfast club and school bus this morning so not a NSD, they're €10 and €35 respectively although as they're planned regular expenses I don't usually post them.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 21/09/2020 17:13

Flipping heck that's a good cake Sea, I know you always do an impressive cake but that one is outstanding!!! You should put yourself forward for bake off... glad it was appreciated by your ds, happy Birthday to him 🎂

Glad you had a good day love we were thinking of you!

I miss fluffy as well, I always thought she'd come back to us one day 😕

Tayto there must be something in the air re decorating! My living room is almost back together, I absolutely love the colours. I'm going to paint some of the furniture pale grey (seems to be the trendy colour atm)

Just back from Aldi, spent £86 but got tons for that, I'm buying extra stuff for dd at the min to try and get some weight on her, lots of very stodgy puddings!! Also picked up a new pale grey throw for the sofa and some beers for a friend who is going out of his way to collect a bookcase for me tomorrow.

Survived my first day back at work, wasn't too bad just lots of emails to catch up on!

anorangeaday · 21/09/2020 17:20

Evening all, it was very foggy and cold here this morning but has warmed up. It’s meant to go downhill from tomorrow I think, then we’ve got rain in store. The DC woke up at 4:05 and 4:32. So I’m sticking with the 8 bedtime, but I got 2 gro clocks from Argos today, and have set it so they can’t get up until 6. I will see how that works tonight. £22.99 each which is quite expensive but I saved a bit of money this week going out with the ex as he pays. DD went into nursery great today, carried on with the heart hand and she’s feeling much better. Currently sat down with a cuppa and the kids are watching waffle.

Did anyone watch the Chris Whitty announcement today? I wasn’t able to watch it as I was at work but I can’t really work out if anything’s changed?.

I’ve just got home, quite a few kids were off school today with colds. I’m so thankful we’ve had no COVID cases at my school and the kids nursery. I’m hoping it stays that way. Just sorting out dinner, fajitas for tonight I think. Then off to take the dog for a walk and the kids round the park. We usually go to the woods but the park has a much bigger play area, and has a skateboard/scooter place too so I might bring their scooters.

sea I’ve made peace with the fact that sleep will be non-existent for me for a few years😂. I might pay DM to babysit and have a weekend at a premier inn though one day. It’ll be nice to feel slightly human again. I’m very happy to eat lots of cake.

I’m glad your rooms back to normal now, tayto, I hate finishing decorating and looking at the mess I’ve made as I’ve gone along!.

em we have to leave early here too, I’m one of the towns just on the outskirts of the city centre so there’s lots of people commuting, plus 3 schools within a few streets of each other, and about 15 others not far from each other. Traffic can be awful!.

happier great saving!

ememem84 · 21/09/2020 21:22

Spends £34 boots on eye cream (Clinique - yes I could buy cheaper buy this one works for me)

SnugglySnerd · 21/09/2020 22:12

If there's a lot of cake I'll be there!

Nsd. Posted off lots of things I've sold on Ebay so that's good.

ChristmasSeacow · 21/09/2020 23:51

I saw the Chris Whitty thing. It was just a lot of stats about how this could get out of hand, I was disappointed they didn’t take questions. I think the point was just to pave the way for Boris tomorrow.

Still a bit tired. It’s DS’s actual birthday tomorrow and he’s very excited about probably getting the two Flat Stanley books he requested. I don’t think he’ll be half as excited about the iPad, somehow!

Wolfcub · 22/09/2020 06:35

Happy birthday Sea's ds, hope he has a lovely day Sea

ememem84 · 22/09/2020 06:45

Awake at 545 and out for a run. It’s really foggy here.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/09/2020 06:58

Happy birthday sea ds

Lovemaltesers · 22/09/2020 07:48

Happy birthday sea DS

We were back to work yesterday, the honeymoon period is well and truly over 😂 I had a surreal day with the mad goings on, DHs day was totally nuts! Bring on half term!!

Bornlazy · 22/09/2020 08:03

Happy Birthday to your ds Sea hope he enjoys his day and likes his iPad.

Back to reality now Love. What a relief it all went ahead.

Dreading any further restrictions that may be announced soon. My area has been locked down for a few weeks now anyway but I just can't cope with any more of it. I know I'll have to but it just feels never ending 😨

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/09/2020 08:30

My dd loved flat Stanley, in fact it was one of the few books that I enjoyed as a child and dd also enjoyed!

Have any of you painted furniture? I want to paint a wooden bookcase and a dresser, I'm just wondering if I am meant to sand them down first?

Working till 3 again today and then popping to b&q for furniture paint!

Happierwithouthim · 22/09/2020 09:07

girlie link to Dainty Dress Diaries Blog everything you need to know should be on here. I watched one of her tutorials on wall panelling on Sunday and I think I'll put some up in my room when I get my house.

orange it's very hard going with smallies alright, I used to allow myself pjs until lunchtime one day at the weekend when mine were small and ex was at work because I was getting up early every single morning with them. Be kind to yourself when you can. Massive saving I'm thrilled, it'll be an extra €50 for my pension order but worth it.

€20 horse riding today

€41.35 on zenflore €28.75, reduced in sam mc'cauleys, hoping it'll be a good substitute for Symprove which is €200 for 3 months and calpol and vitamins for dc, ds is always wanting to get kiddies vitamins when we go into a chemist so in order to get free delivery I bought them so essentially free

seacow happy birthday to your ds hope he has a great day, leftover cake can be posted in ziploc bags you know WinkWink

Happierwithouthim · 22/09/2020 09:08

€31.45 on a weeks supply of NEW You, it's a meal replacement plan, I just want to kickstart my weight loss. Blush

Mrsmadevans · 22/09/2020 09:40

Morning everyone 🤗
Have been MIA because my Elderly neighbour fell in his garage onto a box which constricted his airways . His wife phoned us about half 6 to go over. She was in terrible shock, he was lifeless on the floor but we phoned 999 and then she talked us through what to do . Turned him over, not breathing, did CPR for God knows how long and here comes the ambulance with 2 paramedic techs followed by the lone paramedic in his estate car. We weren't long trying to get him back before they took ove tbf. They got him back after shocking him twice and he was breathing with bag and mask and oxygen when they took him away. He's in ITU now on a ventilator. His wife has the 2 daughters there now. It doesn't look good but we did all we could and so did the paramedics. They were brilliant. So, have not been on here hope everyone is ok 🤗

Wolfcub · 22/09/2020 09:46

Girlie are they varnished now?

I'd sand, knot seal, prime/undercoat and then paint

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/09/2020 10:35

Gosh Mrs that's a scary time.

Happierwithouthim · 22/09/2020 10:39

tayto this is the grey couch I want to get Harvey Norman Danny Chaise

mrsmad wow, be careful with yourself today because shock will set it at some point. Thank god his wife found him and ye could help her. So scary, hope the man recovers.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/09/2020 10:50

I agree the shock will hit you soon

ChristmasSeacow · 22/09/2020 12:20

Good lord Mrs, they were very lucky to have a trained nurse on hand to help, most people wouldn’t know where to start! I bet it will hit you later, as others say. Fingers crossed he recovers okay.

Born I know what you mean. The restrictions are really difficult to sustain, it takes a proper toll over such a long period. I’m dreading households not mixing as it keeps my sisters away from us and they and the DCs miss each other very much. They’re very close. I miss my other personal freedoms too but that is the worst.

Aw, thanks for the DS birthday wishes. He leapt out of bed asking for his new Flat Stanley books and was absolutely thrilled. He seemed a little bemused /dazzled by the iPad but got straight stuck in with a Spelling game. All was good until he managed to lock himself out of it for 15 minutes - huge meltdown ensued. No good deed goes unpunished, they do say 🙄😂. But anyway, I’m really pleased he’s happy. I just wanted him to be a bit thrilled by his birthday and I think he was though possibly more impressed by having blueberry pancakes for a weekday breakfast than the iPad

I’ve had a headache since Thursday and think it’s actually a low level migraine. I am going to plough through my 2pm meeting but then might have to sleep. I’ve had 2 nights of normal sleep but still feel dreadful - the headache is stopping me sleeping, iyswim.

Right, off to listen to Boris Hmm. The man is a populist idiot. What a time to have an incompetent prime minister.

Bornlazy · 22/09/2020 13:39

Mrs what a shocking thing to happen, I bet his wife was so relieved you were there to help. Take care of yourself x

So I listened to Boris and the alarming thing is a lot of the tightening he is proposing are things we are already doing in Scotland and cases are still rising. I'm dreading what Nicola Sturgeon has in store for us.

Mrsmadevans · 22/09/2020 14:01

Ahh thank you all so much for your kindness and support & best wishes for my Neighbour , l dont think it sounds very good for him Sad
You were all right the shock has set in and l have cried today. He's a lovely man . l have decided I don't want to get old Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 22/09/2020 14:52

Well, you’ve got your answer Born Sad

I expect we’ll follow before too long.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/09/2020 14:54

Blimey Mrs that is scary, I dread anything like that happening as people expect me to know what to do 😬 I am a proper nurse I promise but I hate acute emergencies!!

Sea I've started taking magnesium supplements for headaches and I think they have helped a bit even though I was sceptical. I'm glad your boy enjoyed his presents and breakfasts I really want pancakes now . My dd always has a meltdown on her bday, she can't handle the excitement and gets completely overwhelmed. In fact I think last year on her 14th bday was the first one where we didn't have any tears and that was because I kept it really straight forward!!
