@Bornlazy

Congratulations to your dd on the house move Mrs and glad your dh is ok now.

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2020 19:45

Safely into a frugal September saving as we go...
Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2020 19:47

Nsd today for me , l did not buy the chairs for Dd2. I would have normally but l can't keep on buying , she needs to be independent. I wanted to though 😞

ChristmasSeacow · 19/09/2020 19:49

Isn’t Dr Who filmed in Cardiff Mrs? I’ve actually never been there except for a work meeting once, so didn’t see anything of the city. I’d like to check it out one day.

Hoping Love is having a wonderful day!

I spent £46 on a takeaway last night. Was huge so we’re eating leftovers tonight. AND it was delicious - best we’ve had in years. Usually I’m not impressed with takeaways, that’s almost better than finding one I like 😂.

It’s been a cake making day. Putting it all together tonight while DS is in bed so he doesn’t see it until The Big Reveal tomorrow.

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2020 19:57

Yes Sea it is filmed here and so is Casualty 😄 Cardiff is a lovely city but the surrounding area of the city centre is a bit tough . DD 2 is nowhere near them 😂😂😂
She is on the outskirts about 3 & a half miles out . We went into everything with a fine toothcomb l can tell you.
Hope Ds loves his cake tomorrow 🤗👏🤞
And yes like you l so hope Love and her DH had the most wonderful day 👰💍💒💐❤️

anorangeaday · 19/09/2020 20:12

em My two will watch tv for about an hour in my bed, but around 6 most mornings I’m up. They don’t let me sleep when they watch tv either😴. Like you, I wouldn’t mind the weekends off. Your DS sounds adorable, love the robot drinks😂. Good luck on the assignment.

mrs I did have a lovely day thank you, it is so much better now the DC’s dad is making an effort. She’s not moving too far then, but still a bit of a distance. It must be so lovely for her. I’m on the 9th doctor, Christopher Eccleston, I think my favourite is David Tennant, but that may change when I watch him. Are they dining chairs? Very modern.

What cake have you baked sea? I feel like a crap mom as I only buy birthday cakes from supermarkets. I’ve never made one.

And yes love I hope you’ve had a wonderful day and the weather has been as nice as it has here.

DC’s dad just left, he put them to bed. DS was looking at his tattoos and asked what they were, then licked his hand and put it on the tattoo, like you lick the temporary ones you can buy for kids. We all had a laugh and I took a video of it, he’s really getting a little personality now.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 19/09/2020 21:22

Spent another £38 on paint supplies and £20 on a take away, it was also a really good one Sea!

Am so pleased with how the room has turned out, I'm knackered but happy with it! Just need to do the skirting boards tomorrow and can then start putting the room back together again.

ememem84 · 19/09/2020 21:38

I’m dying for a takeaway. We’re having one on my birthday. A Chinese. I love Chinese food. except for chicken feet I don’t rate those

Both dc asleep and I’ve just dragged myself out of the bath. Dh is watching tv downstairs. I’m in bed with a tea and catface. I’m decluttering my phone. 3,520 photos deleted today.

ChristmasSeacow · 19/09/2020 22:11

Sounds like a lovely day orange. Re. Bedtimes, I’ve never found that a later night means a lie in. It’s one of life’s cruel tricks - sometimes the more tired they are the less well they seem to sleep 😫

The birthday cakes I make are usually the same inside (by request) - 5 or 6 layers of chocolate cake, quite a squishy one, halfway between a normal chocolate sponge and a brownie. With chocolate buttercream in between. And then covered in chocolate ganache, before covering in fondant icing and decorating according to the chosen theme. I did make a rainbow layer cake for DD last year but that was before she knew she preferred chocolate Wink. My dad was a chef so i was helping to to decorate wedding cakes in my teens and I’ve been doing a couple a year since then. The end result is usually decent but I’m very slow - I couldn’t make money out of it!

Just eaten the other half of last night’s takeaway. I’ll need a detox after this last week of rather excessive eating, feel a bit bleurgh right now.

I’m watching a compilation of the biggest hits of 1978 that we recorded a while back. It’s great fun!

AdoraBell · 19/09/2020 22:34

£6-ish on chocolate after picnic with in-laws.

ChristmasSeacow · 20/09/2020 03:40

Just finished the cake. Never again!

Wolfcub · 20/09/2020 07:41

Sea six layers of chocolate cake! I want you to make me a birthday cake, it sounds amazing

Girlie glad you're pleased with the decorating, hopefully after today you can relax and enjoy your endeavours

£6.50 lunch and £9 pub yesterday. Parking at nature reserve included in membership and friends made me dinner, will be last time for a while because of lockdown.

Need to get up and pick ds up from his dad's and drop him at practice for 9.30

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/09/2020 07:41

Bloody hell sea. That's a late one.

More carpet pulling up today, tip run, stables run, washing walls.
Didn't sleep well, no more takeaway here

Bornlazy · 20/09/2020 08:48

Six layers of cake sounds amazing Sea your family and friends are so lucky to have you as the cake maker/great cook/great host. You make me tired just listening to all that you do and I bet you are up at the crack of dawn today too.

Orange your day sounded lovely. It's nice that you can spend time with your ex and the dc.

I had takeaway last night and it made me feel sick. It was lovely but too rich and eaten too late. I could feel it lying in my stomach all night.

I'm hoping for a nsd today. Yesterday I spent £50 on perfume and aftershave but that was for 10 bottles and given that I'd already bought some earlier this month there is going to be a theme this Christmas 🙈

Happierwithouthim · 20/09/2020 09:48

Sea oh my god you'll be exhausted today, hope ds is delighted with his cake SmileCake

Mrs well done on not buying everything for your dd, I've seen those chairs I also do not love them Grin

Em it's funny when they sleep so deeply that they do that Grin

I watched a tutorial on wall panelling & think I want it in my bedroom of new house, think it'd be lovely in grey with pink walls

Steam cleaning the sofa will make it like new girlie

Mrsmad congrats to your dd, a friend told me herself & hubby both have Lidl app & get different offers so saving on the double, they do all their shopping in Lidl.
Just saw you bought multiples of the dishwasher tablets I didn't realise you could do that!

I'm going in today for kerrygold at half price & 5 pints of milk for ds's lunches as they didn't have any in Dunnes. I'm normally not into waste but washing out his bottle after warm milk being inside tipped me over the edge Grin

Orange late bedtimes used not equate with late rising for me when dc were small

€47 diesel
€10 root touch up
€8 condoms, I'm on antibiotics and not taking any chances Wink

Taytocrisps · 20/09/2020 10:02

Morning everyone. It looks like it's going to be a lovely day here. I'm going to shower in a few minutes and then head out on my favourite walk.

Yesterday was a spendy day:-

€23.60 cat litter
€6.99 fruit and veg shop
€5.79 butchers
€4.88 Tesco
€39.75 Supervalu
€39.14 planner/diary
€8.77 Amazon prime (must have been DD - she's in her Dad's this weekend
€128.92 Total spend

I resisted the temptation to get a coffee and croissant from the best bakery in Ireland Smile

I've been re-united with a lovely hoody I left in Dad's house. I bought a new fleecy hoody back in March and called over to my Dad's house.
I left it behind (after just one wear) and then with lockdown etc., I didn't see him for a few months.

Did anyone watch the Strictly Best of Movies Week last night? It wasn't what I expected - they just showed brief clips of some of the dances and there was a lot of padding - interviews with the dancers and celebrities etc. I enjoyed having a nose at the dancers' and judges' houses (or at least, the little glimpses I saw of their houses). I'm sure they all have fabulous houses. I don't begrudge them that though - they must work incredibly hard.

I'm in the office next week so it will be a quiet week.

I ordered some clothes from Bershka a few months back but the clothes never arrived (long story). I don't think they ever refunded me - I must follow up on that.

Happierwithouthim · 20/09/2020 10:06

Love a good planner or diary tayto you'll have to link Grin

I spend very little all week & in a couple of hours in town you could spend a few hundred euro Shock

SnugglySnerd · 20/09/2020 11:15

Your cakes sound amazing Sea!

Cracking on with more house jobs today. Want to buy some bulbs for the dcs to plant in the garden so might nip to the garden centre later.

Taytocrisps · 20/09/2020 12:05

It's this one Happier - sorry for the long link www.cgdlondon.com/products/pink-daily-planner?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&cmp_id=9868113838&adg_id=100573173576&kwd=&device=c&gclid=CjwKCAjw2Jb7BRBHEiwAXTR4jdxTwAWieFMXK8eDvQhiX2dzmkOt0ectN9syA2fPvhoo94dIkt3F2xoCapcQAvD_BwE

I like bright colours. And making lists. I won't be using the quotes bit though. Who has time for coming up with inspirational quotes on a daily basis

Seacow I've just spotted the time of your post Shock. You'll be exhausted today.

Love I was thinking of you yesterday. Hope you had a lovely day.
Wishing you all the love and happiness in the world. Any chance of a photo when you re-surface? Obviously with any identifying details blacked out.

Gah! A fruit fly has just landed in my full mug of coffee.

Taytocrisps · 20/09/2020 15:10

After my walk, I popped into the nearby Super Valu. I tried out a really nice wine on special offer there recently, so I thought I'd check if it was still reduced in price. The special offer is still on so I put three bottles in my trolley, delighted with myself. On my way to the till, I picked up a bag of cat food because there was approx. €2 off. Then I bumped into a couple I'm friendly with (acquaintances more than friends). They probably think I've turned into a boozy cat lady since the separation Blush.

ememem84 · 20/09/2020 15:15

Flipped out at dh earlier. To the point of door slamming. He hadn’t actually done anything other than to rush me. Not cool of me.

He’s taken the dc to fils. I’m making a roast chicken and a spag bol (slow cooker).

Three loads of washing done and I’ve hit my word limit on the assignment. Am happy about this. Yay.

Happierwithouthim · 20/09/2020 16:27

We least you recognise this em poor behaviour is worse when not acknowledged.

Tayto that's lovely. I went to Lidl for three things came out without having got one of the items & still spent €12.80 but I got dd a gift to balance out gift myself & bf chose for ds a month ago & couldn't give to him until she got something
Then went to SuperValu for other item (milk for ds lunch) and got bananas too so spent €4.96 there still got loads left in my grocery budget so I may revise downwards in the near future or else top it up to €100 each week instead we'll see.

Had dinner out last night bf paid & lunch out today too which he also paid for

ememem84 · 20/09/2020 16:51

Everyone else has gone for a nap. I’m enjoying a piece of rocky road an earl grey and the home edit on netflix
