£14 dunelm - baskets, lint rollers, soft feet for chairs on wood floor.

£5 salad box and Diet Coke. It is huge. And stuffed full of chicken and not just leaves.

LonelyOversharer · 05/08/2020 14:33

life I'd have you round in a heartbeat, but honestly, I'm way too embarrassed about it all now!

Got in from work (turns out a half day means do a full day's work just faster, this is all manual stuff...) and was quite mad that nobody (dp) has even loaded the dishwasher. Had a bit of an angry but pointedly quiet rant and he's shifting his butt now.

Hopefully not spending any money today.

ChristmasSeacow · 05/08/2020 14:35

Very glad to hear about the Seasalt chocolate Sing. It’s a wise choice Grin.

My house is rather a house of doom. I manage to get on top of a couple of rooms, but then the others go to pot in the meantime. We have too much stuff but I do think it will get easier when the ‘toy’ phase abates, as Snuggly says. I also need to clear out my wardrobe, which I will do gladly whenwhen my weight settles. I’ve got a 3-size range of clothes at the moment, since pregnancies / weight loss / gain and I need to massively scale it back if I am to be able to put things away properly (I have loads of hanging space too, though very little space for folded stuff so might need to get that sorted).

But if I’m honest, my craft habit doesn’t help - yarn, sewing stuff etc! And DH hoards books and magazines. Sigh.

1 more working day after this and then I’m on holiday. But I have way more work than will fit in that day so I think it might be a laptop-comes-with sort of holiday 🙄.

On the happy side, the architect is coming to see us on Friday about our plans for downstairs. Yay!

Joined the rspb £50 a year. Should have joined five weeks ago as I'd have already saved £12 on parking Shock

wolf I keep meaning to join the CS social club. it is about £6 pm but get you free parking / entry to NT and loads of other things. I will hustle up the link for you tomorrow when I am in work.

Ours is half house half bike shed.... both advanced on the doom scale. There is not a single room that doesn't have a bike bit or bit of tat in it. It gets better when the boys are away and I have the opportunity to throw the old post, box collection, broken things that have not (and never will) get fixed.
I must work out to make calorie free cake.

lonely I don't think you will be alone in twice as much work in half the time. I am practicing my touch typing so I can write as quickly as I think.

I have overspent in Aldi - £50 for just me and DD so that I can avoid getting more fuel so that I can say I lasted the month on £20. Roll on 15th.... I will be riding my bike to and from the food bank and scraping the bottom of the freezer.

Wolfcub · 05/08/2020 19:00

Top tip for typing Unescorted, listen to the keys, they all have different sounds. I can't touch type "properly" but I type fast because I hear my mistakes. I never look at they keyboard

OP posts:
Unescorted · 05/08/2020 19:29

I will keep that in mind... although because it is coming from my head I watch as I type so I can see the mistakes( if I don't look at my fingers). I can't imagine how people copy type. That is a real skill. Like rubbing tummies and patting heads. Or is that the other way around.

It appears that DD's BF has been let off the leash .. his mum normally summons him back at around 5. He is still here - I will have to hope dinner will stretch.

AdoraBell · 05/08/2020 19:38

I need to re-join the Frugaleers, if you’ll have me.

That neck water bottle sounds fab em, hope you get the meds sorted curvy.

I was working before lock down, started July last year, and after 1 month on furlough our branch was closed down. I’m applying for jobs. One of the dogs, Teddy, had surgery last month to remove a growth. All seems well now, but it cost a shade under £500 🤦‍♀️

DD’s birthday this month. They turned 18 last year so this can be a cheaper birthday. They are waiting for exam results. Both are stressed about Uni.

Did a top up shop today but DH paid. Main grocery delivery is booked for Friday, that will be £80-ish.

Unescorted · 05/08/2020 19:49

Hi Adora of course you can re join!

We are waiting for uni results too. Roll on Wednesday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/08/2020 19:58

Welcome back Adora.

Trust me lonely nothing can be as bad as my grandparents house which took 6 months to clear after they died and then stuff went to my aunts garage

SnugglySnerd · 05/08/2020 20:12

Welcome back Adora! Lovely to see you.

LonelyOversharer · 05/08/2020 20:40

Hi adora I'm just back too. Nice to see you!

Made a very scrappy tea of 3 (yes, between 5) chicken thys, some very old salami, tin of sweetcorn and some courgettes, stirred into a tin of chicken soup to make a pasta sauce. It wasn't my favourite!!

But look! There's a kitten in my Kallax.

Hi all, boots had dd2 medication, so I don't have to worry now!

Welcome back Adora
We had a lovely day out!
Spends about £30.

SnugglySnerd · 05/08/2020 21:08

Yay Curvy! That's good news.

Unescorted · 05/08/2020 21:18

Good news curvy

Lonely we have a recipe here that is similar... chicken, chorizio, beans tin of tomatoes splash of vinegar, pinch of sugar and adobo spice mix (paprika, chilli, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt and pepper). I normally char grill / fry the vege. Let me know if I can do a spice delivery as pay back for the seeds.

Unescorted · 05/08/2020 21:24

Forgot to say... The Curry Guy British Indian Restaurant base sauce is bob on. We did a Korma with it the other day and it tasted like a really top drawer eat out Indian meal. Obviously nothing like a at home Indian curry!

AdoraBell · 05/08/2020 21:49

Fantastic news on the meds Curvy

Thanks for the welcome 😁

That kitten looks super comfy.

ememem84 · 05/08/2020 22:09

Hola!

Just finished season three of money heist. O. M. G.

Now in bed with catface because I know if I watch the opening to season 4 I’ll be up all night doing that “just one more...” Netflix binge! Haha.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 05/08/2020 22:10

Thanks everyone!

northender · 05/08/2020 23:55

Thanks for the new thread wolf
Keeping up with thread from Devon, just not been posting. Having a good time here, lovely to finally see dh's family again. Spendy time as have ended up staying in a hotel so all meals out....eek! A level stress building here as it seems quite likely that Ds wont get what he needs. Trying to talk about options but it's hard.
Dh's new job is progressing very slowly. Just waiting to agree starting salary & then things should move on more quickly.
Will catch up properly soon.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/08/2020 07:10

Cute kitten

Fingers crossed for D's North and dh

Spendy today D's needs trainers and dd a hoodie for riding

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/08/2020 09:36

Hhm frugal dilemma. Do I do a car boot sale which will be a faff around pony or accept it's s faff and donate to scouts for the tatt stall at the fete

Wolfcub · 06/08/2020 10:06

Life donate to scouts. Route of least resistance to decluttering is the best

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 06/08/2020 10:26

Morning all, today I'm going to sort out my kitchen and living room.
I was thinking to start in a corner and work my way round, would that be the best way?

Hope you all have a good day.
