No but I'll have a look. Thank you!
ChristmasSeacow · 05/09/2020 00:04

I’ve never tasted Harris gin but the bottle might be the most beautiful thing ever. It’s going on my Christmas list.

Friends coming for lunch tomorrow. I’m up late cleaning the cess pit of my home and tidying and pulling apart a pomegranate.

ememem84 · 05/09/2020 07:37

Dsis bought me Ophir gin. The bottle is very pretty. It has an elephant on it. But tastes like curry. It’s flavoured with cumin cinnamon and cardoman. She bought it when dh was Ill during lockdown. And when we were quarantining. So had no other options for gin.

It’s ok with ginger beer or ginger syrup and tonic. But...on its own is a very acquired taste.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/09/2020 08:05

Curry gin. Even just saying it sound erm interesting.

£86 Sainsbury's. There for opening. The joys of waking early, mind whirling

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/09/2020 08:07

Today will be painting walls that are not covering well. I forsee 2 more coats. Ffs

Wolfcub · 05/09/2020 08:12

I see the govt and the daily mail are waging war on the civil service again. Ffs

Life, one coat of pale grey or one coat of Zinnser primer and then paint over the top. It will block colour showing through if you are trying to go lighter

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/09/2020 08:36

Mrsmadevans · 05/09/2020 08:53

Morning everyone 😀

Have a lovely day everyone 😀

Unescorted · 05/09/2020 09:08

We are going to be made into whipping boys.... How they are going to manage all of us going back when there is only 0.6 desk space for the workforce is going to be interesting. According to R4 there is going to be league tables for each department.

My Dm had her pacemaker fitted yesterday - it took much longer than expected because of the scaring she has from her radiotherapy. It has shifted her mindset from the medical profession are only doing this to make money out of me and my taxes to OMFG the NHS is amazing. I hope this is the last major medical procedure she has to have for a loooooooong time.

ememem84 · 05/09/2020 09:10

Incredible headlines aren’t they? I mean I get that the govt wants people back in offices. And I get that this will be beneficial for some people and also businesses surrounding offices. But they can’t force you can they?!

Here we’ve been told that wfh is no longer the default position and we need to go back but must maintain 1m distancing. They’ve rebuffed our offfice layout so we can all be back in (only 24’of us). Dh’s work are having teams in every three weeks - people at every two desks - so dh will be one week in two from home. They’re anticipating 40% staff in at all times.

In my place we’ve been asked if we want to go back in. If we don’t we don’t have to.

Wolfcub · 05/09/2020 09:40

It's honestly reAlly unpleasant to work for people who so openly hate and disrespect you

Morning all, had a busy few days here. When I'm off work I always wonder how I fit it in normally 🤔 Anyway things aren't too bad here, dd is eating more and at regular times. I had a letter from Camhs which seemed to suggest they have diagnosed ASD which is a relief. Dd and I have an appointment with them next week so I will clarify that I've interpreted the letter correctly!

Being off work is spendy though, am probably over compensating for dd and her current difficulties by spending a lot on her! Mostly on clothes or craft supplies and some back to school stuff.

Basically means I'm skint again until pay day 🙄

Hope everyone is okay, I'm struggling to keep up at the moment.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/09/2020 10:37

Ahem £275, 000 spent ish.... Leaves thread >>>>

ChristmasSeacow · 05/09/2020 11:19

Ooh, house Life? Or did you just splurge on a very nice car? Grin

So glad to hear that things are looking up Girlie. Do you think an ASD diagnosis will help DD?

I’ve not slept much but I have cleaned all the brown stains off my nice sitting room rug where Dd keeps dribbling her Innocent smoothies (not so innocent!). It looks soooo much better! And hoovered downstairs floors and cleaned the downstairs loo and tidied up a lot and made two tagines and a lemon tart and some flatbread dough. And done two lots of laundry. I am still in my dressing gown, however, and this is the first time I’ve sat down (literally!) since I got up at 6am. Friends are arriving at 1.

I literally can’t wait to do nothing this evening and do to bed early. We’re off to the Tower of London tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/09/2020 12:18

Yes 4 bed 1930 semi

Pleased dd seems to be eating better and you've got something tangible.

Hi all! I had a lovely few days off. I’ve sorted out all the uniform, washed, ironed and labelled. I’ve also meal planned for the month of September, and will be prepping and freezing for the next fortnight on Sunday. DMIL is coming over tomorrow to take the little two out so that DH and I can have some time with DS1 and then we’re going to DFIL’s on Sunday. So I’ve got a jam packed schedule but it means other people can help out with the DC as I’ve been really struggling lately. I thrive off routine and I’ve struggled without it over lockdown and especially as I’m getting further into the pregnancy I’m getting less and less energy to deal with the DC, so I’m super grateful to get some help and for the routine to be kicking in from Monday. I turned 18 weeks pregnancy today and we have our scan in 2 weeks so we’ll get confirmation that it’s a boy (or a big surprise😂). Alright let me catch up with you all then lovelies.

Oh thank you life I’ve already got the trousers now but thank you very much.

unescorted the break was definitely needed but I feel so much more together now. I felt like I was sinking in the stress of everything but I’m much happier now.

Your pictures are lovely em, nursery fees are crazy aren’t they!. I’m so glad DS2 is 3 now as they’ve gone down a bit, but they’ll go right back up when DS4 is born and needs nursery. The fees are unbelievable.

mrs DH got some Christmas decs the other day for us to cheer me up😂. Our garden centre is full of decorations.

sea great news about the COVID test!

Sorry things have been so stressful north

snuggly we live near Birmingham and the Lego store is ace. We’re taking DS1 up to town tomorrow to have some time just us and him before he goes to school and you’ve reminded me to stop off at the Lego store.

wolf the barra gin is amazing, my DGM is a fellow gin lover and she has some.

mrs lovely pics, the sky was similar here last night so we had a cuppa in the garden.

DH got me some billberry gin for my birthday last year which is very unusual. It’s sweet at first taste but has a spicy aftertaste, I think it could be quite nice at winter.

girlie I’m so glad to hear things are looking up with DD.

Great news life! It sounds lovely

We’ve gone to Stratford-Upon-Avon today. It’s not as busy as I expected it to be, but I suppose a lot of people are back into the school routine now so aren’t going out as much. We’ve stopped at a cafe to have some lunch and then will continue to have a mooch.
