howlathebees · 12/08/2020 19:43

wolf we’re doing up a trailer for holidays and I’m super excited for it. Hoping to get away a lot this year.

em I’m sorry your DH is being so awful! Especially when you’re feeling poorly

sea I need to invest in an umbrella especially for when DC4 is born if we go out and about so they stays protected when we go out. I couldn’t do without one.

mrs it’s been in the 30’s here too, I can’t stand it when it gets past 25!

That’s rubbish curvy it’s began again here, it’s such a nice break from the heat

life I’ve always said I prefer putting a tent down in the rain than the heat. I love when it’s windy and people are taking their tents down, very funny to watch them blowing away (I do help I’m not cruel)

Welcome fear!

It’s started storming again here. We’ve had thunder the past couple of hours but now lots of rain and I’m pretty sure I saw some lightning. It’s going to be a long night again, all 3 were in with me and DH last night and it was just way too hot. I might leave them with DH and sleep in the spare room!

Also attached a pic of my washing line today. It really made me chuckle!

NSD, trying to work out our earnings for when I go on maternity leave.

£28 on Dominos for the DDs. They are super stressed about results. Tomorrow is going to be spending, taking them out for a celebration/commissary lunch.

Loving that Dino how 😂

34 degrees here this arvo, it’s finally cooled down a few degrees to. No storms here.

SnugglySnerd · 12/08/2020 20:04

I love the dino on your line Howl!

Welcome back Fear.

I have just made a healthy meal plan for next week and shopped online accordingly. Which was £111. I think I might need to add pull ups too but can't check because I'd wake up dd2 if I go rummaging about in her room.

I have also been trialling a new laundry system as an experiment to try and reduce the water bill because we seem to do a load every day which seems excessive. Normally we have a basket in each bedroom that gets washed when it is full plus 2 x bedding washes per week and 2 x towels per week (because they don't all fit in the machine at once, we don't change the beds twice a week). So I tried just having one basket for all clothes and it has been full every other day! Admittedly this has been a particularly bad week for ice cream, sun cream, mud, feeling hot and sweaty plus a few toilet accidents (dts) but I cannot believe how much laundry we have! It'll be even worse in Sept with school uniform and my work clothes which I intend to wash daily because of covid. I'd normally get a couple of days out of a pair of trousers or a cardie but I want to try and avoid germy clothes hanging around the house.

Sorry for such an incredibly dull post! I'll try and do someting more interesting tomorrow!

Fearofawelshplanet · 12/08/2020 20:18

Unescorted · 12/08/2020 21:01

Hi fear … everyone is always welcome back here. Tootles off humming Hotel California

Wolf just go for a pootle - it gets better quite quickly. I found mirrors and window reflections useful. Also remember you are bigger than everyone else (other than articulated lorries and double decker buses) they will give way if you drive at them.

Mrs I don't have anything to hide either... on the Oxbridge hand wringers thread I keep getting pulled up for "outing" myself. pefffffffhh!

@northender good luck for tmwr. Your DS is amazing and no amount of paper selling articles changes that. Our babies have worked so hard in awful uncertain circumstances.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/08/2020 21:02

Hi Fear, welcome back. I remember you being here before but not much about your circumstances, hope lockdown hasn’t been too awful to you.

Good luck to the exam kids tomorrow. When do you find out - I presume there’s an email or a login or something? Not going to school to collect a bit of paper with dot matrix printing on, like in my day 😉

I did not expect Wales to feel tropical Mrs but it is chuffing boiling - not just hot but humid. Mind, my washing also dried in an hour! I’m not missing the miserable air quality of London in the heat though.

It was supposed to be rain and storms all day today (according to the BBC 🙄). We went for a walk along a cliff top and to see some castle ruins, armed with waterproofs etc. Expecting to get wet, but then it turned bloody scorching! Amazing views but quite a hard walk. I had to give my water to the Dcs and was almost dead by the time we got back to civilisation (ie a shop). DH had rather misjudged the distance and difficulty of the walk - my mum was really anxious about whether she could get up some of the steep sandy inclines and I was really worried the DC would burn as I didn’t take sun cream! And we almost got trampled by some very fast moving free range cows, especially one that fell down an incline and almost landed on us while we Picnicked (seriously, it fell off a small ‘cliff’ above us, where we were sheltering for shade, and landed about 2m away, I nearly had a heart attack). We all survived though. And Dd did Amazingly well for a just turned 3-year old. Not sure how far in miles but she walked 11k steps up and down hills in the boiling sun without any complaint. Slowly, but not a single moan. DS was great too.

£5 parking, annoying as we didn’t have our NT cards with us, and then DH bought some more bottled water. No idea what he spent but other than that, no spend. We’re well cheap on holiday thanks to avoiding crowded places with DS! as long as I don’t dwell too much on the £250 Ocado order

I also picked a nice haul of blackberries again. I think I might need to make a holiday crumble if we have a rainy day at home.

I am pleasantly knackered now and feel so much happier now I’ve washed the dust and sweat off - I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my shower when we got back to the holiday house! Chilli Con carne for dinner, made it the other day when we were rained in. So no actual cooking, yay.

Might be stuck in tomorrow if the forecast is to be believed, but I’m not banking on it. Would love a storm to clear the air though 🤞🏻

Unescorted · 12/08/2020 21:04

@Adorabell sorry - same goes for yours. They are awesome for having navigated to tonight without falling apart. Good luck to them both. xxx

Unescorted · 12/08/2020 21:06

Sea 8 am... you will find out at 8:01

ChristmasSeacow · 12/08/2020 21:09

Ooh, cross posted with a few of you, hadn’t refreshed.

It’s just started thundering and raining here - hurrah!

Fear, we are in Swansea! (Holidaying, not living - normally London). I’m hoping it doesn’t rain all next week...

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/08/2020 21:16

Fear, hello and welcome back!
Howl we are meant to be getting a storm tonight/early morning, I really hope we do.
Love your dino!
Snuggly, I need to get a few more bits for work, I don't want to wear things twice. Bloody covid!
Em, what a lovely treat the spa will be.

ememem84 · 12/08/2020 21:18

Fingers crossed for results tomorrow to all those waiting on them!!!

It is still sticky hot here despite the rain. I’ve just been outside and sat with a cup of camomile tea in the garden. In the rain. So refreshing! Dh thinks I’m nuts but coool.

Now in bed

Laundry put away (mostly - airing cupboard stuff still to do), kitchen cleaned and tidy, laundry in machine on timer for the morning. Dryer also on and will finish in about 30 mins.

Making a list of small jobs to be done while I’m on hols in a couple of weeks. Silly little things that will take literally no time but I haven’t got time to do. Like glue bathroom cabinet drawer fronts on.

Mrsmadevans · 12/08/2020 21:18

@Wolfcub

Fingers crossed for tomorrow for Adora, Unescorted and North's teens.
Yes very best of luck l am sure they will do really brilliantly 😃👏
ChristmasSeacow · 12/08/2020 21:19

Unescorted 👍🏻 I really hope it works out for all the exam kids tomorrow. I’d always wish that but this year especially I think they’ve had a tough ride with more uncertainty and difficult decisions than normal. Bonne chance, all!

AdoraBell · 12/08/2020 21:21

Thanks unescorted they have both looked through the clearing options in case they don’t get the grades they need.

Good luck to your DS northender
