What pasta did you do wolf and life changing how?

SnugglySnerd · 14/05/2020 19:51

Icy I did the same with Twinkl for dd1 and now I've had a good look at it I have found some brilliant resources I can use at school and the dts are loving all the colouring sheets I print off for them. We even printed off bunting to colour in last week! I haven't cancelled yet!
I feel a bit ropey tonight. Nauseous, gurgly tummy, I've felt tired and cold all afternoon too. Have checked my temp a few times and it's fine but I'm def not 100%.
How are you doing with the dcs Em? Hope dh is feeling better for some rest.

Wolfcub · 14/05/2020 19:54

North I did cauli mac and cheese. Done in 20
Mins from the start of chopping an onion to finish on the plate and only one pot to clean. Amazing stuff.

ememem84 · 14/05/2020 20:10

I’m exhaustamajigged.

The dc have been great today. Dd has learned to screech. Hoorah!!

I’m sat on the couch with a scone and some g&t.

I tried to wash our king size winter duvet today. Managed to shove it in the washing machine but door wouldn’t shut.

Will febreeze it to death tomorrow and hang it on the washing line. Then when we can I’ll take it to the laundrette.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 14/05/2020 20:28

Just caught up!

icy I thought twinkl was free at the moment? It was shared on a facebook group you put in a code.

Spendy day yesterday, had a few drinks with DH, found the lol set dd2 has been desperate for since before Christmas at a decent secondhand price on Ebay. £75, it will be her main birthday present and she will be so happy. (Came with another set which I should be able to sell on for £30+) now to start making origami boxes so it's like the unboxing videos we have to watch endlessly!! And then a tinkerbell pirate fairy dressing up costume also from Ebay! It's all about the costumes at the moment for her. My mum is looking out for the Anna coronation dress and Jasmines from the real life film (if anyone knows where I can find it will be super grateful, has to be the pink dress and not trousers) argos had it but now not on the website.

Nsd day today. Just been feeling sorry for myself as I'm a bit hungover 🥱

SnugglySnerd · 14/05/2020 20:45

Some stuff is free but not everything and I probably got a but carried away!

Unescorted · 14/05/2020 21:07

Life unfortunately it was North who got the good declutter.
Wolf that is so tough to have to deal with. If you need a 2m meet I am more than happy to pootle over to your side. xx

I am at the end of a long couple of days... I can't even think why. Other than Aldi took an hour today - long queues in the store. We will be eating the freezer until at least Monday while the travel to exercise novelty wears off. For the first time for years we were looking at deliveries and click & collect.

I am going to say this very quietly … DD1 got a very broad hint that her A level stars were aligned. So she is off to her first choice. My parents have said they will pay her fees which is so amazing for her. We wait for DD2.

em I hope your dh feels better soon. I will join the queue of people saying your Dm is a bit harsh. Your DSis needs cloning and sharing out amongst your frugal friends.

Unescorted · 14/05/2020 21:09

madden HOW MUCH?????!!!!!!!!

Wolfcub · 14/05/2020 21:24

Unescorted that's absolutely wonderful for dd 🍾🍾🍾. Fingers crossed for dd2

LaneBoy · 14/05/2020 21:32

Twinkl code is PARENTSTWINKLHELPS I think

I’m actually considering signing up long term now as it has made life vastly easier, but they only do a home ed discount code once a year so I think for now I’ll just try and download stuff I might need in the near future (my download folder is a friggin mess 😳)

I spent loads today - top up shop after getting DH’s meds in town, and I’m buying a wax warmer from a friend later as the one I’m coveting is finally on sale.

DD1 had a fab day at school - she’s really glad to have that normality back even though it’s not normal school. I’m so grateful she’s been allowed (and to our support worker who backed me up with an extra email) - it’s a huge relief she can get some academic support from school as trying to balance her and DS was really tough - much harder than when DD1 was actually still home educated, as then I was tailoring the work to her SEN rather than having to help her keep up with the whole curriculum IYSWIM.

We just did Jay’s Virtual Quiz again, two rounds from Stephen Fry :o

Lovemaltesers · 14/05/2020 21:34

Hope DH and DS are feeling better em. Is it tomorrow they should get the results of the test?

I am exhausted today. I fell asleep this evening and then I got a call from work (out of hours) and probably sounded so out of it and unhelpful Blush

I sat in a traffic jam today as driving to my parents to drop off shopping went past our tip. I have not missed traffic jams.

LaneBoy · 14/05/2020 21:35

Ooh that’s exciting unescorted well done to her! ❤️

The author I’m typing/editing for hasn’t done the next bit of her book yet. Gah. Had a lead on a possible course I could look into though (art therapy related) so that’s something.

Mrsmadevans · 14/05/2020 21:39

Mrsmadevans · 14/05/2020 21:43

Managed to get my stock of hand gel upped in Home bargains there was no limit . I didn't go mad though. Got 4 , 2 for Mum & Bob 2 for us.

IcyWind · 14/05/2020 22:03

Ooh I didn’t know it was free, there were some free resources on there anyway but thought I’d buy the subscription. It’s definitely worth it though!.

That’s fantastic unescorted!!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 14/05/2020 22:23

Brilliant news unescorted, well done to your dd.

Snuggly no chance you could be up duffed?? 😬🤣

Well done for getting through the day em 🍷* *

All okay here, saw a friend for a socially distanced catch up which was really nice. Her dd is having a few of the same issues that my dd has had over the years and it was nice to talk to someone who 'gets it' iykwim.

Also had a long phone catch up with my God mum tonight which was lovely.

Nsd.

Bornlazy · 14/05/2020 22:42

Thanks for new thread Lane That's great that your dd is enjoying being back at school. My ds2 is really falling behind. Every day I say I'm going to try harder to make him try harder and then I don't Blush

Wolf how did you make the pasta?

Unescorted great news about dd1she totally deserves it.

em hope dh is better soon

ememem84 · 15/05/2020 06:19

unescorted wow!! Amazing news for Dd!!!

Yes dsis is a gem. She’s off next week so has said she’ll come up if we need her. I’m meant to be working next week too. So if dh isn’t feeling 100% she can come to help. She doesn’t do nappy changes though. 😂

Today is day three of waiting for results for dh. Day 2 for ds. A colleagues son was tested on Monday and got his results yesterday. So fingers crossed we’ll hear something today.

Dh was saying yesterday that he actually is hoping in a wierd way that the test is positive. Mostly because if it is, he survived it and hopefully will have some antibodies which will help for future.

Fruit box and salad box being delivered today.

Also going to chuck duvet outside and febreeze it.

Need to put four baskets of laundry away and then do something with the dc. Maybe a garden picnic.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/05/2020 06:53

Was it? Sorry north.

Yeah for dd1 and her results

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/05/2020 06:57

Garden pic nic are ace. Well done dsis.

£80 in Sainsbury's yesterday which is bugger all food really.
Hey ho. It's Friday.

Pleased DD was ok at school.

ememem84 · 15/05/2020 07:09

Is it Friday?! 😅 I’m not even sure anymore!!

Was talking to dsis yesterday about schools going back. She was saying her head wants dh to be positive. Apparently if he is, because we’ve seen dsis and she’s been working school will have to close for 48 hours for deep cleaning. This is the plan apparently going forward.

Given that all kids will be expected back at the same time there will more than likely be a spate of schools closing and reopening. This will cause all sorts of chaos.

Our govt are oblivious to this.

SnugglySnerd · 15/05/2020 07:34

Yes it's Friday, Em! This is what I keep saying about schools going back. If teachers have to keep isolating added to those who are shielding or pregnant, there won't be enough to keep schools open safely and they will keep shutting. It's going to be very disruptive to everyone for a long time yet, I think.

Def not Girlie!

Brilliant news Unescorted!

I feel much better today, think I was just very tired. Chocolate during the quiz helped last night! We got 41!

Bornlazy · 15/05/2020 13:15

em does your sister have to isolate at the moment having been in contact with your dh? Would they deep clean the school even if she has not developed any symptoms? That doesn’t sound sustainable long term. Would they close the school and deep clean it if a pupil went off? Is that what they plan to do here Snuggly? The whole school thing is just going to be a nightmare for teachers.

Girlie dh found a tick on one of our cats ears this morning. He thinks it must have been newly attached as it didn’t have blood in it when he squashed it after removal 🤢

Raining here today. Don’t know if I can face a walk today as just finished two twelve hour shifts and feel knackered. I’ve never been fully right since I wasn’t well with a virus (still don’t know if it was thee virus) at the end of March. We are still in lockdown here (Scotland) so nothing much to do anyway.

ememem84 · 15/05/2020 14:05

born she mentioned dhs situation to her head and he said if dh tests positive then they’ll have to shut down and I suspect she’ll have to isolate.

The plan to clean schools etc if someone contracts the virus is good but just unsustainable.

I’m doing the unthinkable. I’m sat outside in our front garden. Reading a book. Kids are napping. Dh is napping. Living room is a mess. But I’m taking some me time.

I’ve asked to extend my annual leave to mid next week. Given dhs lack of energy I think it’s wise to be off just in case. There’s no way he could look after the two kids in his current state.

Ds and I planted a pineapple top today. According to you tube it should grow and fruit in 2 years. We shall see.

SnugglySnerd · 15/05/2020 14:52

Sorry Born I have no idea what the plan is for schools here. My own school is trying to figure out a plan at the moment.
