I’m not sure about going out. I mean I don’t think it’d do any harm. It’s just the feeling naughty etc.

I was thinking this morning though how wierd it would be if one of them tested positive.

Dh is sleeping on the new gigantic air bed and I’m in our bed tonight. I cannot sleep in with dd any more. She is so noisy!!! Sniffles and shuffled around in her cot and flaps her feet in her sleep bag.

Unescorted · 17/05/2020 07:57

Wolf I hope you had a better night. This sounds harsh but how would he respond to withdrawal of love. So respond to his outbursts with a form of - "OK do what you want but the consequence is that I no longer care. When you choose to behave like a human being I will resume loving you" I wouldn't recommend it except as a last resort, but it may bring him up short because it put the onus on him to modify his behaviour to get the result he wants. I think why kids can be such arses to their parents is because they know that despite everything we will love and support them. He is lashing out at you because he knows you love him to pieces so if you change the dynamic of that knowledge he will have to "earn" your love with good behaviour.

I have sent the girls to bed... they were still up drinking my wine stash when I got out of bed this morning. It is sooooooo peaceful just a rhythmic gentle snoring x 4, radio on and nothing particular to do.

Em I am not sure what we would do if we had a positive in house. Luckily we have family nearby to drop shopping off, but I think I would have to redig the patio by the end of 2 weeks. It is getting out into the hills that is keeping me sane.
I love your DD - me and DD1 are foot flappers. Neither of us can go to sleep without rubbing our feet together. It is a sure sign that we are tired when we start flapping or take our socks off.

ememem84 · 17/05/2020 08:17

unescorted it’s getting that way. Dh has helpfully started to build his own grave in the garden....I mean it’s above ground but should work right...?!

He’s just brought me a cup of tea. He said he’s feeling better as he didn’t wake up at all last night (he’s had the night sweats for the past week). So that’s a plus.

I’ve said that tomorrow or Tuesday I need to stay in our room and work on my assignment. I was meant to be doing it all week this week but no time really. When I’ve had downtime I’ve either chosen to do chores or just sit down.

5000 words by 5 July on the wonders of the common reporting standard. Hoorah.

Unescorted · 17/05/2020 08:28

That is very considerate on both counts, although I think 5000 words on the common reporting standard would drive me to using the patio first.

ememem84 · 17/05/2020 09:04

Me too....it was my choice of topic (from a set list of 11 questions).

I figured there’s enough stuff I can research to get 5000 words. What it is, history of it, how you classify, why you classify, and how it affects entities. Intro and conclusion.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 17/05/2020 09:20

I've got 5000 words to write on pressure ulcers by the end of July, is there room for two in the grave em? 😉

We had a lovely day Ystd, I met my best friend for a long walk and we even got a take away coffee which felt like such a treat!

Went to pets at home, bought a spot on flea/tic treatment for the dog £36 and other stuff for the animals (food/treats/hamster stuff) £37.

I've been quite impressed with dd, she's done a 30 min work out and a 3k run every day for 3 weeks. She is looking really toned and healthy, I should take a leaf out of her book 😉

ememem84 · 17/05/2020 10:14

girlie probably!

Pressure ulcers eh? Sounds a lot more interesting than CRS!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/05/2020 10:20

I think that's a perfectly serviceable sarcophagus em.
Both those topics sound riveting. Can I call you when I can't sleep?

Taytocrisps · 17/05/2020 10:28

em so relieved to hear it's not the dreaded CV. I'm sorry your DH hasn't been well but at least you can still go for walks now and see your parents etc. Takes the pressure off a bit. Good luck with the assignment - sounds fascinating Wink. Yours too Girlie.

We're entering Phase 1 of easing the lockdown restrictions tomorrow. The main difference is that garden centres and DIY shops are re-opening. There are things I need to get in both, but I'll hold off until later in the week - I'd say they'll be mobbed tomorrow. The local garden centre has already set out guidelines e.g. only five cars allowed into the car park at a time, each customer only has 20 minutes of shopping time etc. They're also recommending click and collect. Up to four people who don't live together can meet outdoors so long as they observe social distancing. We're still restricted to exercising within 5 km from home - very jealous of your hills Unescorted.

Really impressed with your DD also Girlie. I manage to nag/drag DD out for a walk once a week or so.

I'm going back to work next week but I'm only going in for a few days. It will be nice to have a change of scene and see some of my colleagues again. My boss has done up a rota so there'll only be a handful of people in a large office on any given day.

I've decided to ring the local handy man and ask for a quote to sort out two overgrown shrubs and see if I need to remove the patio trellis (there's a large shrub growing in from the garden behind mine - it's growing between the wall and the trellis and poking through the trellis). I'm keen to get it all sorted so I can plant a few climbers.

Nipping down to the shop to get some sausage rolls for breakfast and peppers for dinner (omelette). Should be a LSD.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/05/2020 10:34

Fascinating subjects there em and girlie!

Yesterday was a NSD

Will need to get milk a bit later though.

SnugglySnerd · 17/05/2020 10:52

Morning all! We finally had a lock down takeaway last night from the chip shop. Ds ate so much fish he was still full this morning and couldn't eat his breakfast which is unheard of!
After they went to bed dh and I had a few games of Othello. I have lost my touch, I used to be ok at it but he won every game. It was nice not to just watch TV though which is what we seem to do every evening!

northender · 17/05/2020 12:06

Morning all (just!)
Em glad dh is negative, are you still waiting on ds' results?
Tayto we did click and collect at a local garden centre last weekend and it worked really well. I felt more comfortable with it than going this week when places started opening to the public.
Snuggly glad you enjoyed your takeaway
Em and girlie your assignments sound riveting, rather you than me!
unescorted I left ds to it last night. He was being sociable with his drinking though and was just chatty and happy so I can handle that!
wolf sorry you're having a hard time with ds.

Lovely HM pizzas last night. Bought the only bread flour they had at Booths yesterday which was an organic one from Northumberland. Not badly priced for lockdown & definitely made dough that handled better and tasted great.
Dd is going to make tea tonight, quiche & salad. She has just made cherry & almond scones which are delish!
Grocery shop was £180 but will easily last all meals for a week. No takeaway this weekend, but we are planning another for next weekend.
Dd's laptop is giving up the ghost at the moment so we need to get another. Has anyone got any recommendations? wolf I seem to remember you getting one for ds?
Have just joined a facebook baking group run by Lovingly Artisan from Kendal. He has done a couple of great videos about sourdough and they seem a helpful group.

ememem84 · 17/05/2020 13:16

north ds was also negative. Phew. It seems there’s a virus doing the rounds here which has all the same symptoms. But isn’t CV.

Productive morning. Dh feeling more energetic today. We put our bean teepee up.

ememem84 · 17/05/2020 13:17

Dh has also said that my legs resemble a plucked turkey. And that’s him being kind. 😂😂

I mean he’s right...but still....

Mrsmadevans · 17/05/2020 14:16

Em good news re the Dh & Ds being negative Smile you have lovely shapely legs Flowers
North l must have a look at the site on Fb it sounds lovely Smile l need a new laptop but l want to have a cheap/easy one which seems impossible atm given the prices on Amazon Hmm
Snuggly glad you enjoyed your takeaway l want one so badly Grin
Em & Girlie good luck with your assignments both! Smile Am interested in the latest pressure area research , l wonder if they have changed the treatment much since l used to nurse . Must have a look now my curiosity has been pricked Grin
Tayto our garden centres are open here in Monmouthshire, they are all marked out for socially distancing . A lot are doing click and collect too. I wanted to go today but have since felt quite fed up and 'meh ' so instead have sat watching Midsomer Murders with the lovely John Nettles, not the new man Grin
Born so sorry about Dh uncle bless him Flowers
Life very frugal use of leftovers well done Grin
Unescorted well done to Dh for volunteering shopping Grin
Dh is freaking out over the rockets launching Grin he was supposed to go over and watch them from the Kennedy Space centre but the virus put paid to it poor thing.

Wolfcub · 17/05/2020 16:02

Good frugal news. They are building an Aldi in our town. I wish it was a lidl but you can't have everything

Ocado booked for Tuesday. Veg box Wednesday. We had veggie frittata for lunch with potatoes, courgettes and pepper

Saw a lovely little nest on our walk this morning

Super tired but did sleep last night and ds slept for at least 12 hours which will help

Wolfcub · 17/05/2020 18:42

I've ordered a take away. Not frugal but I can't be arsed and I've had a little fall and hurt my leg - don't really want to stand on it to cook (any excuse)

Em, Girlie good luck with the essays. You've reminded me I need to get on with doing the first half of my course that stopped due to covid

Bean teepee looks fab Em. How many frugaleer relatives can fit in that sarcophagus? I have a few candidates

North I got a Lenovo ideapad for ds, there are two. One has sod all memory, avoid that one. Cost about £349 and does what he needs for school

Accidentalaccountant · 17/05/2020 18:55

Em and girlie. I submitted an essay yesterday. On the perfect victim!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/05/2020 21:07

Ah the teepee looks ace. DS is very pleased with it.

Worried about you wolf. X

ememem84 · 17/05/2020 21:25

wolf four maybe...but if it helps we’re getting new decking so could shove a few more under there!! 😂😂

acciuntant that sounds interesting. What’s the course?

life it’s ds’ new “house” he was so so happy with it. To be fair so was/am I. Bean teepee was something I’ve wanted for a long time. Memories of picking beans with grandad when I was little.

Was remaking the bed today. And a big ass spider flew out of the clean laundry. I kid you not bigger than a 50p. Ds was in the room with me so I had to be brave and trap it. Very unlike me. Ds was fascinated by the “baby spider” we looked at it for a bit then released it into the neighbours garden wild

Unescorted · 17/05/2020 21:40

Mrs I suspect his and my idea of "volunteering" may be slightly different but the outcome is the same.
Tayto they keep us sane. The air is really clear - I guess with so few commuter journeys. We could see all the way to Wales today... we are planning on the next sunny day on walking to the top of Kinder to see ir we can see Snowdon... that would be so cool.
Wolf take aways are necessary sometimes. hope your leg feels better soon (if it was me I would make sure anyone in my house thought it still hurt many moons after it was fine).

I have spent the morning rearranging my spice cupboard. I found all sorts that I had forgotten about. Dried limes, black sesame, smoked salt, dried borage flowers.... I did a ricket mind I threw out the ground ginger because it was looking a bit dusty before realising ginger spice is not the same.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/05/2020 07:13

Work today, heavy week this week. Nsd planned today.

Wolfcub · 18/05/2020 07:41

Ditto Life. With the addition of aiming not to eat everything in sight today

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/05/2020 07:54

Yes, I ate everything in sight over the weekend despite my best intentions.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/05/2020 07:57

Does anyone want any 7-8 waterproof trousers in dark blue before I charity them?
