I have a hole in my garden you would be welcome to use wolf?

SnugglySnerd · 25/04/2020 15:06

I would want to throttle him too Wolf!

Marmalade cake looks and smells amazing.

Really productive afternoon. I have cleared out a load of stuff from our room. Some has gone in the loft, some in the bin, some in the car for when the charity shops reopen. Have also tidied/organised ,dusted and vacuumed the whole of upstairs including a death manoeuvre hanging over the banister to dust the light shade on the stairs. Dh is now cleaning the bathroom. The dcs have been busy washing out plant pots in the garden. Looking forward to a well-earned beer later.

Happierwithouthim · 25/04/2020 15:50

Hi everyone €13.90 in local shop yesterday. & discovered today that we're out of milk. Dc are intermittently cranky. We will get milk & sweets for 6.30 movie on our walk out with dog

Unescorted oven was warm I was trying to improve the starter too!!

Made salt dough lockdown plaque today. Tomorrow we'll paint it. Will hang it in next house. It's big 2 adult hands & 2 child hands.

Recipe is 500g flour 250g salt 250ml water bake on low for 3-4 hours

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/04/2020 16:06

You were definitely with me wolf. All the time....I remember. alibi sorted
Cheeky twat. He can do more then can't he. Is he still working?

£2 sugar soap, £21 Iceland, £15 Aldi.

Marmalade cake, never had that. Sound delicious

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/04/2020 16:07

There is a sour dough feature in the new good food mag that I got for free from library app.

Wolfcub · 25/04/2020 16:48

Life hasn't worked for 9 months now. Reckons that in addition to my 10 hour work days I could drive ds to his and collect him a few times during the week as well so he can help with homework. Nice thought but that'll make my work days and "commuting" 12 hours

Grrrrr Angry

I have cleaned out my Tupperware shelf, matches lids, and found a home for the electric grill thing.

I need to set off to pick ds up shortly.

Plaque sounds like a good project Happier

Hello everyone.

I was so tired, going back to work definitely got my muscles working again, but also made me pretty stiff!
North, it was lovely to see some of my colleagues and the children, they make it all worthwhile. And yes when I got home, my dcs told me what they had got up to with their dad.

Unescorted, do you ever rest? You are amazing and thank you for everything you do at the food bank too!
Your dd is so talented, she really doesn't need to worry, I know easier said than done.
Loving those PJ's!

Give, glad to hear you are doing so well!

Wolf, ignore the twat!

Snuggly, wow that is some work you have done today, I've hardly moved!
Lovely cake!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Mrsmadevans · 25/04/2020 18:08

Boiling hot here 20C grin. I have been to Mum & Bob's, done their ironing , put it all away, fed the cats , talked sternly to the pair of them because they had a row ! Gave Mum a Marks fruity curry ready meal and Bob a braised steak & mash meal from Marks with broccoli /cauliflower to do for them as well. They rowed because they didn't communicate properly to each other.
Same old same old Hmm the story of life Grin
Love the marmalade cake Snuggly
Wolf STBEXH needs a swift one to the goolies Grin
The pollen has made my eyes run and run they are so red Hmm
Have taken Benadryl Hmm
NSD for me again , got a big order from Iceland £80 coming tomorrow for us , NDN, Bob n Mum n the catty girls Grin
Give POTUS is a slimeball , l can't bear the man. So happy you are doing well Flowers
They are tightening travel and exercise up here in Wales. Cyclists are only allowed to ride within a reasonable walking route. I can see that being adhered to Hmm
My Mum's Neighbour has just been on the phone to me , she has been housebound for 5 weeks on lockdown, very lonely and not well, not from CV19 from MS bless her Sad she is alright for food deliveries and for everything else just lonely , she is only 60 . Hasn't seen her Gc for weeks . She said she can't bear it much longer but l told her she has to just keep her head down and keep going. She said my SIL contacted her via FB to tell her about Mum staying with Bob & didn't she think it was awful. Mum's Neighbour never hears from SIL , obviouly SIL is shit stirring . Mum's neighbour told her straight how lucky Mum was to be staying with Bob and not lonely. SIL said 'didn't she think it was too soon' . Neighbour said' what do you think they will be doing , bedhopping at their age FGS?' Grin
I can't get over my SIL l never thought she would be like this. Mum will be devastated when l tell her. I have to tell her because her neighbour will tell her & God knows who else she has been speaking to about it Shock l hope they tell her straight !

Curvy I have low housekeeping standards. I do all the fun stuff and leave the rest to anyone who is offended by the mess.

Wolf I have been seen digging in the garden, so no one is going to notice if there is a disturbed patch.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/04/2020 19:45

I thought he stopped working after last summer's thing but couldn't recall if there was a new job. Sanctimonious arse. Cos he's A* at life and patenting over these last couple of years.
Wolf, you are doing the best you can in trying times. Ignore him.

As for sil Mrs. Ffs she needs to wind her neck in. Well done NDN.

I have the rage for you all tonight

give I use my middle name. It is more me - although causes confusion at times. Would that work for you and your DS? I have a thing about names - I hate surnames because they are the 2 parties on a contract (husband and father) where the woman is the contracted item. And first / known names are so much of a persons identity that if they aren't right then it can cause a disconnect. It would be wonderful if people could choose their own names when they get to an age. Do you like the name your DS wants?

that is good that you got to the root of it. It is hard not being the same as your peers.

ChristmasSeacow · 26/04/2020 08:34

Ah, it must be tricky when they think they’re the only one with a different family. Glad he likes his name better now.

Cake looks great Snuggly. I love marmalade. Still can’t stop baking. I’ve got the bread maker on timer for this morning (I realised I probably used the wrong recipe for the flour last time, with a bit too much water, so hoping this will be perfect!) and I will probably make an apple cake as I have some on the turn. But I’ve a serious hankering for welsh cakes too, and DS loved them on our hols in Wales last year.

I’m so nostalgic for the idea of holidays - in recent years we’ve air bnb’d in the uk, nothing fancy, but we all love a holiday cottage /days out/ change of scene holiday. I realise some people never have holidays so this is firmly a first world problem but the kids will miss it Sad.

I simply have to get the spare room under control Today as I need to build my computer desk and set myself up, but I need to pack up a lot of stuff for the loft first! And really we should spend the day in the garden as we need to scarify and aerate the (very tatty) lawn and put some grass seed down before the weather turns wet again. And I’ve to cook a roast. Sundays go so quickly here!

northender · 26/04/2020 08:34

Morning all.
give glad your ds is now happy with his name. It's amazing how many times patients declare their preferred name and it isn't their first or middle name!
snuggly the cake looks lovely
mrs well done on keeping going, you have a lot on your plate at the moment, all the Chinese whispers is hard to deal with
unescorted you know I really feel for your dd. I was talking to a friend on Friday about our boys and what a difficult situation they are in. They had a clear path mapped out for the next few weeks in particular, but beyond that too. To have all those significant events taken away and left with a scenario that is outwith their control at their age must feel so unsettling.

Yesterday was a now usual Saturday here. I went out early for the key worker hour at Booths to do shopping for mum & our NDN. This week I did our shopping too although dh had been and done a big stock up from aldi the day before. We called at the local farm shop on the way to my mum & dad's to buy steaks for them as its dad' birthday today. Everything was really well organised, I was really impressed. I queued a while to get in so did a big freezer meat shop while there to make it worth it! We are now incredibly well stocked & so next week should be a much smaller scale shop (needed as we have spent a lot in the past couple of days).

In the afternoon we just all chilled in the garden & rounded the day off with a lovely BBQ tea. In the evening we had our usual zoom quiz with friends.

Today we'll be sewing, gardening and cooking & hopefully get a walk in too.

How are things with you all in terms of people being more relaxed with their distancing and behaviour generally? Dh & ds had a walk yesterday & came across a mini street party where the take on 2 metre distancing was being stretched. The roads seem busier too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/04/2020 08:37

Ah bless him.

Cake looked lovely.

Going to socially distance visit the parents today. I have flour for my DM and mil needs a MH check

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/04/2020 08:42

I agree north it's much busier on our walks. dH days on his way back from work the roads are much busier (emergency services so key worker?

Today is going to be lovely so no doubt more people out again.

3 of the 6 houses in my cup de sac have never stopped getting visitors. Tbf one is boyfriend and they are alternating house so one isn't empty long term.

ememem84 · 26/04/2020 08:56

Morning all.

Dh is in the garden. He’s been in there building the wall for the last hour and half.

My plans today are to try and clean the house with ds trotting after me. And maybe get a walk in this afternoon.

Ds and I did some painting yesterday afternoon out in the front garden. We did footprints on paper. Then DS got away from me and now our front patio has little red footprints on it....!! Hopefully it washes off!! If not it’s a reminder of the fun we had painting.

Spends yesterday £30 riding £25 dinner. We got takeaway fancy burgers from local bar. Dh had their classic burger - brioche bun burger sun dried tomato relish bacon cheesy cheese onion ring. I had the “dirty cow” (brioche bun, burger, relish, bacon cheese and a deep fried mac and cheese patty...) ds had a kids burger (which came with mac n cheese balls). And we had chips. So much food. So good though.

Dd is teething - top front teeth coming through. She’s a bit grouchy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/04/2020 09:34

Those of you who can sew I need a new sewing machine. Can you recommend a beginner one please? Can spend a chunk to get one

Unescorted · 26/04/2020 09:39

It is so much busier here - ever since the "you can drive to a place to take exercise so long as the exercise takes longer than the drive" advice was given. I guess it is one of the disadvantages of living in an Outdoors area - lots of walking, mountain biking, running, climbing. We get a lot of visitors, however we are also blessed with being able to wander out our doors into some amazing landscapes. I am happy to share.

I am making local leek soup - yesterday I hoiked out the last of the leeks to get the beds ready for this year. We are due rain any moment now apparently - so the weeding will be on hold for today.

North - it is my mum's birthday today too. I am going to take the flowers I bought yesterday up to the farm later on. The choice wasn't great so I will combine 2 lots and retie them to make them look more expensive that they were.

Don't laugh people.... I have had my sewing machine for years now, and only just realised today that I can drop the dog feet. Stretchy tunic dresses with pockets and T-shirt knickers here I come!
