Hope that gets better quickly Sneaky

Hi, I hope you don't mind me joining you again , I've got to stop frittering away money and start saving. Last year I tracked all my spending and i feel sick at the amount I've wasted. So this year instead of buying tat and more clothes, I want to go on days out and give the girls experiences instead of stuff.

I've joined these threads before but I'm pretty rubbish at keeping up then I forget to post and stop thinking about saving and end up spending loads 😣

First money saving job of the new year, return gifts I bought that I didn't give to DD's as they had enough. Also doing an inventory of food/ toiletries tonight before going shopping tomorrow.

WreckTangled · 02/01/2019 17:31

I cut my finger on the tongs 😭😭 sliced it right on the side. Dh tried talking to me to let me know bil is coming round ffs just what I want right now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/01/2019 17:34

Hopefully he realises he has been a twat wreck 😕

Was wondering if any of you had any interesting coins? Am thinking I could collect a few up to give dd for her b day, any foreign coins anyone?

WreckTangled · 02/01/2019 17:37

I've got euros and nz dollars. I did have a Benjamin bunny 50p but I think I spent it.

Unescorted · 02/01/2019 17:39

Just Euros.... But if you can wait until end of Feb my parents are back from Oz.
No cuts good to have you back.

Wreck I would go for wine therapy in the circumstances.

Justanothermile · 02/01/2019 17:44

Welcome back nocuts.

Oh heck wreck - you are officially having a shit day. Bless you. Luther tonight at least...

sneaky that doesn't sound great, I hope you are okay.

I'm earplugs here too fluffy, DH snores like a hippo.

I read that you were throwing things about unescorted!!

It's been a working day today and I've been glad of the routine. Still stuck to the 'a cupboard a day' plan and it's been the shoe box today - quite a few of everyone's shoes to go to charity.

Instant pot vegetable broth for tea so frugal again and easy.

Running club tonight.

Spends
£60 Sainsbury's, with a few stocks for DS uni food (pasta, sauce etc).

Another frugal win - fully cleaned and descaled the tumble dryer (condenser) and it's working again! However I've dried everything but one load either on the line or in the house - pre Christmas I was chucking it all in through sheer laziness being honest.

Justanothermile · 02/01/2019 17:45

Love to see the first bulb shoots wolf.

Unescorted · 02/01/2019 17:49

Tempting jam although I am not sure how you would tell the difference.

AutumnLeaves12 · 02/01/2019 18:06

I have a big biscuit tin of foreign coins Girlie. I'd be happy to send some. I got tooken about the place a lot as a child and they are all from what used to be called Western Europe (I never went through the iron curtain). Also Scandinavia and North America, and pre-decimal UK. Would it be any good if I looked out ten from ten different interesting countries?

I really like your cupboard a day plan Jam. I think I will follow your lead but aim for a one a week month.

Our stair cupboard has mouse poison all over the floor and I wish it was gone, but then the mice would come back. I need some kind of huge mouse-eating lion as a pet.

SneakyGremlins · 02/01/2019 18:11

Have you considered a cat? Xmas Grin

Mine caught a bloody crow this summer.

AutumnLeaves12 · 02/01/2019 18:12

I did, but I gather it's very hit and miss as some cats just bring live mice in and leave them to potter around. That's what mine did when I was a child, and the rat man says it's very common. That's very impressive that yours caught a crow.

In fairness, we haven't had mice since we've had mouse poison.

Gws sneaky.
Welcome back no cuts.
How many steps you aiming for lonely. Shit for me today as WFH. Zero walks.

Loadsa stuff to the chazza. Still catching up

SneakyGremlins · 02/01/2019 18:22

Not that impressive when I had to get the corpse off my bed.....

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/01/2019 18:24

No thanks to the no 2 tin. My toddler time is over.
If it's not an onion has he been poking his own eyes wreck to look sad. Onion up the sleeve made me laugh though.

Girlie have you been collecting the Peter rabbit 50ps?

Some fucker has scraped my car too. Fucker.

LonelyOversharer · 02/01/2019 18:28

girlie your dd collects 50p's doesn't she? I have a pile I cannot spend as they aren't standard! Would happily post a few if she doesn't have them? (will dig around for a photo in a bit) And if you popped up some pics of your cats (I know boy cat has gone) I could make some matching mini cats for her?

Spent £9 cash in the co-op as we needed milk. Seems I cannot stop spending money this year! At least I can't go out tomorrow as dp is off on a trip in my car. Seems he can put a scabby old engine in my car, but definatley not his! Hmm

SneakyGremlins · 02/01/2019 18:29

I have a 6.5" by 4" baking tray

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/01/2019 18:42

Yes please to all the kind coin offers, I'll pm you my address 😘

unescorted her bday is beginning of Feb but thanks anyway.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/01/2019 18:46

lonely just seen your kind cat offer, that would be amazing thank you! Will have a look for some pics.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/01/2019 18:48

Are you going to bake something sneaky?

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/01/2019 18:57

Oh Life That’s awful, is it really bad?.

coconuts of course you can come back.

Wilko are letting me down on the plant pot front. All I want is John Lewis quality for 50p. Is that too much to ask?.

Wouldn’t a 2 baking tin do for 21st?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/01/2019 19:00

Have you got a reuse shop attached to your local dump fluffy? They are honestly the best place for plant pots!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/01/2019 19:04

I'm thinking em or Em's Mam for young C.
Or caglatini, or both in ultimate frugal style, then onto sea.
It's the bumper. I reverse into spaces and it looks like the kids where someone has reverted out to the right and scraped my bumper. Fuckers. Hope the paintwork insurances covers it.

SneakyGremlins · 02/01/2019 19:09

life well the tray fits four chicken nuggets on...Grin
