happier there is a reason he is an ex and you are happier. Use it as reinforcement therapy and empty the trifle through his letterbox.....the day after he goes away for a fortnight.

I didn't say earlier..peat is one of my favourite smells. Takes me back to when I was little and visited my grandparents in Ireland.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/12/2018 19:51

Happier, h is a selfish twat.

ememem84 · 24/12/2018 20:04

unescorted jeeesus. I would not be getting back on that plane.

curvy so sorry to hear that xxxx

happier what a douche.

Presents wrapped and under the tree.

Dh is sorting the pork for tomorrow.

I’m sat on the couch with a “beer” having a sniffle cry. Just a bit overwhelmed. A bit happy. A bit sad. A bit all over the place. I should not have watched Mary poplins. That always sets me off. I’m also hungry. But cannot get into the kitchen for love or money. And the smell of the stuffing is both delicious and making me feel sick 😭

Happy Christmas Eve y’all. I hope all of you have a lovely time. A peaceful time.

Unescorted · 24/12/2018 20:15

em my swimming isn't that good! We met some friends on the same flight - one of them is a really nervous flyer. They got off very very quickly. It will be a difficult trip home for them.

My hungry/ sick thing was pizza. I would walk waddle to the take away, order and promptly wander outside to heave. It became a running joke - at first they thought I was just another drunk student on my way home. When DD was born they delivered to the ward (6 days of hospital food).

Wolfcub · 24/12/2018 20:22

I recognise that. The only thing I could eat for about five months without throwing up was a tandoori chicken pizza from the skankiest take away in the world

Taytocrisps · 24/12/2018 20:23

DD My personal beautician has painted my toenails a glitzy red colour with a little snowflake on each big toe. Apparently I have furry big toes!

DH has disappeared upstairs so I suspect he's wrapping my presents.

Might have a Tayto sandwich shortly with batch loaf and real butter. Mmm......

We're watching 'Miracle on 34th Street.

Happier if you need anyone to help deposit it on his head give DH his trifle, give me a shout. I'm only a few counties away.

Sorry to hear about your aunt Curvy

MeadowHay · 24/12/2018 20:48

Tayto They're called toelashes, mine are to die for Wink. I am glad that I don't have HG this Christmas, like I did last Christmas, bleurgh. Had an Xmas family gathering with a lot of DH's side yesterday afternoon and it was so good to be able to eat crap non-stop all afternoon and have a few drinks. We went to the same one in the same relative's house last year and it was the first time I'd actually been out anywhere since I got HG and it was getting better but I still could barely eat anything and felt permanently nauseous and couldn't really move about and obviously couldn't drink as pregnant. DD was actually ok too and didn't cry the whole time so I had a nice time which is nice. I feel like I hardly ever get to do anything nice now or have any time that isn't super stressful, since she was born Sad.

Unescorted · 24/12/2018 20:51

As the proud owner of hobbity toes... I am so going to use toe lashes. Thanks meadow

ememem84 · 24/12/2018 20:58

Toelashess!!!! Gross!!! But that’s the new name for them.

meadow enjoy dd’s First Christmas xxx

CurlsandCurves · 24/12/2018 21:01

curvy sorry for your loss

Happier what an idiot. You’re definitely just as your username says?

em I can relate to the hungry/sick thing. Everything I cooked I either ate a mouthful of and was full, or it stayed down for about 5 minutes before it came up again!

ememem84 · 24/12/2018 21:11

I was extremely lucky with ds and was never actually sick. But god the nausea.

I’m eating bbq pringles now. Have helped dh string up the porcetta and have eaten some pasta with cheese.

Yay.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/12/2018 21:43

Wow a new thread already! Thanks autumn

Happy Christmas eve everyone and I hope all of you have a wonderful day tomorrow 🎅🎅🎅

Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2018 21:47

Thanks for the support & understanding guy & gals he's definitely an ex for a reason eyes the stuffing I'll be eat until July Smile

We went to church & ds talked so much & sang his own Christmas carols that I suspect some people in pew with us may need to attend mass again.

Dd is crying upstairs & wants to be left alone for five minutes, maybe she's overwhelmed.

I ate a lot of burgers & crisps with ds, enroute to sIimming class I was teaching was permanently hungry.

Toelashes love it Grin

I might have a king crisp sandwich, no real butter Sad actually only have dairy free spread from when I was cooking for vegan a few weeks ago, doubt that's going to have same effect.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/12/2018 21:56

Hitting the hay here.
Santa has been. Yeah.

Happy Christmas frugaleer buddies. X

LonelyOversharer · 24/12/2018 22:48

Half your luck life Santa is in for a long one here...all 4 still awake. We have had a strop (dd1, 3 weeks off 16!!!), tears (dd3), a very bad temper (ds), and a wielder of the stirring stick (dd2, winds dd3 up and watches her go)!

It is getting quiet now, but dd1 has agreed to the outside of her door for the stocking!

They loved the jammies and slippers, and we had a good picky tea. I made the almondy whatever its called, but the yule log can wait for the morning! Excuse the chip in my denby, and the frankly revolting fish tank in the photo!

curvy so sorry to hear your sad news. Flowers

happier be happy, stuff the trifle right up his arse. I could no more eat christmas dinner with my ex than walk to the moon. Guess he had a better offer than his dc? Don't be sad for your kiddies, it is 100% his loss.

Sleep well you lot, and a very Happy Christmas xxx

Festive frugaleering - Merry Christmas, and a happy 2019 to you all.
Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2018 22:54

We've had hot chocolate made first of Gibson jigsaws & left out treats for Santa

AutumnLeaves12 · 24/12/2018 23:53

I have found out a thing and I wondered if I could tell you? It's not very Christmassy.

After the discussion about strutting men from the other day, I keep getting adverts in the side bar about something called "Coercive control" and I looked up what it is this evening and found this page:

www.womensaid.org.uk/information-support/what-is-domestic-abuse/coercive-control/

I do think there is something of this in my life, but it's not from dh. It's from the culture that I was brought up in. Dh comes from a very liberal background where women can do anything they like, but I come from a very traditional background where women's behaviour is very restricted, partly by the women themselves.

I've been talking to dh about it this evening and he says he sees it in my life, and we are going to try to sort it out together. I will talk to some other people round about me too and ask if they will help.

I wanted to say thanks for pointing it it out, and if you could encourage me to keep challenging my misconceptions, that would be great.

Merry Christmas when it comes!

I am still not asleep somehow

Merry Christmas all!

The Big Man has been here Wink so I’m away to my bed. Just waiting for the Night Nurse to take effect and unblock my nose .

Curvy I’m sorry for your loss, it must be especially hard for the whole family at such an emotional time of year too.

Happier does H have a better offer or is he cutting his nose off to spite his face? Let him sulk, it’ll be an easier day for you without him.

Sneaky you know how to live Wink. What are you up to tomorrow, are you spending Christmas with anyone? Hope you are all set.

lonely that looks delish. I think meltdowns on Christmas Eve are quite common. So much build up. We’ve had our moments here too. DD (just turned 18m so not even susceptible to the build up) was inconsolable tonight when we put the plate out for Santa and she realised she couldn’t just eat the cookie herself. Took about 20 mins to calm her down.

I didn’t do as much prep as I wanted today - long story but I realised (separately) that there were two things that didn’t come through on my Ocado shop so I had to go out to the high street twice. Not exactly missing but apparently never ordered, even though I know i definitely put them in the basket. It’s a mystery. Bit annoyed as I want to spend maximum time with the kids tomorrow and as little time in the kitchen as possible. But I’ve got mum to help so hopefully we can smash it.

We ate just under half of the fish pie 🙄. Honestly, I can judge amounts for DH and myself but as soon as someone says ‘guest’
I lose all proportion and hugely overcater! No idea when we can eat all that.

Cagliostro · 25/12/2018 00:37

Mmmm soup maker carrot soup was epic. Also really spicy, it seems I don’t need as much chilli with this method of cooking. Baby liked it though.

Just setting up the Santa gifts then I’m going to doze off. I have downloaded and activated the stop motion software so should be good to go. Excited!

I also read the Nightmare Before Christmas to the Caglets. Such a gorgeous book, they love jack skellington.

Merry Christmas to all!

Happierwithouthim · 25/12/2018 00:38

Probably going to one of his other DC's houses(they're adults) no word on if he's taking dc to his or not in the afternoon and I'm not asking.

Happierwithouthim · 25/12/2018 00:46

I took out ham from slow cooker about 10pm & have now put turkey crown into it. It'll be ready when we get up then GrinTomorrow will be about enjoying time with dc not cooking Grin

Cag baby likes spicy food that's brilliant, I discovered instant pot needs less garlic today
Santa has now been in our house

Night night frugaleers Xmas Smile

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 25/12/2018 00:58

My favourite (don't tell the others) staff member at the children's home is on the afternoon shift so I've been summoned for a brew where they let me go round with a bag stealing food as they know I'm poor

LonelyOversharer · 25/12/2018 00:59

Finally all done. Had to take over to get ds down. He was stressing as he couldn't get to sleep.

Here's hoping for happy kiddies tomorrow x
