Working today from home. Got some fence quote people coming this morning.
No idea this afternoon, depending on mil getting an appointment dh needs to take her to.

AutumnLeaves12 · 31/12/2018 07:33

Good luck with the appointment to day Girlie!

Dh is back to work today after two very nice weeks of holiday.

I have been raiding my brexit stash. It's weirdly useful to have more storage for food. That's twice this week where I'd not have had anything to eat without it, but now I do. Yay!

Good luck today girlie

It's only bloody payday. Yippee.

Wolfcub · 31/12/2018 08:48

Girlie all the best of luck for today

Happy frugal Monday folks. It’s payday and I have paid myself first. I’m also pleased to report that I finished the year with no new debt and a reduction in old debt. I’d call that a win so I’m pleased and I won’t be any skinter in January than normal (pending car repairs allowing)

QuiteisbringingFrugalback · 31/12/2018 09:26

Sea
Awww thats lovely and makes it so much fun when they make each other laugh Smile

We had "quiet time" for an hour after lunch each day and DD would watch a programme ,the DS napped and I would read/knit.
That was the theory , the reality was often different 😂
But I tried .

Finger feels much better today .
I want to crack on with this hat and finish my shawl ,pattern is Mara on Rav,knitted in Madelinetosh .
Will try to sort out the tension on my machine today.
Plan to do some baking and go out for a long walk .
I will be alone tonight as everyone is out bliss
Plan is to watch Borderland and knit .
I have posh chocs.

autumn could one of your new year 'tasks/resolutions' be to sort out your food shopping? From what you tell us, you online shop, have a pretty much unlimited budget, yet still regularly run out of food. You have a car, live in a city, access to anything...perhaps you could set up an online basket with everything you know you are going to need to eat, and set it to deliver every week at the same time.

Unless you are being jokey and dry about having no food to eat. Only I don't actually think its funny to brag about not having any food you can eat in the house. Especially on a frugal thread, where some people might actually not be able to afford to buy enough food. Bear in mind we have a lot of lurkers, who might think it's not a thread they can join in on if its "just super hilarious" that I've run out of food again.

Ps: hi lurkers, please jump in and join us for the new year!!

girlie fingers crossed for dd today. I'm sure she understands how important it is to get to the bottom of her feeling poorly.

SnugglySnerd · 31/12/2018 09:44

Hope it goes well today Girlie.
Just realised our broadband deal ends in January . Time to shop around...

Bornlazy · 31/12/2018 10:49

Hope you had a lovely time last night Jam you looked amazing!

Todays spends £41 on a Tesco delivery. Stockpiled DS1s favourite shampoo whilst it was on offer to make my order up to the required £40.

Will just have a quiet night tonight watching tv. Will stay up for the bells but probably not much after that. I have had this cough for about ten days now and I am properly pissed off with it.

Bornlazy · 31/12/2018 10:51

Oh and good luck to your dd Girlie hope she manages the blood test.

ememem84 · 31/12/2018 11:51

Yeah good luck to your dd girlie

At work. I’ve done everything necessary for today.

Just waiting to be told I can go home....----

SneakyGremlins · 31/12/2018 11:55

Morning Smile

AutumnLeaves12 · 31/12/2018 11:58

I’m going to have to send the Caglets to the shops again as we have a pretty empty fridge and freezer. I’m having flare up issues this week, so I’m not up to making something out of the dry ingredients we have left. I’m not sure I’m going to stay on these tablets either, the side effects are too much given how little they are actually helping I think. I have other options but need to wait till I see the CMHT people.

Gearing up to DD’s melatonin break too. Starting tonight since she wants to stay up for midnight anyway.

Not quite caught up yet but wow jam love the dress, you look amazing!

Hope DD is ok girlie x

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/12/2018 12:42

Cag, do what is best for you, but glad to hear you will wait until you see the right people Flowers

Cagliostro · 31/12/2018 12:47

Yeah don’t worry I’m not going to just come off them or anything like that :) Thanks

Tree needs to come down today. It’s not been a very festive tree, as no decorations on the bottom half thanks to the baby! :o you can’t really tell it’s been Christmas, as we went pretty minimal in terms of presents, and the only food left is half a jar of cranberry and a sachet of emergency bread sauce :o

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/12/2018 12:49

Good Smile.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/12/2018 12:50

At least you don't have piles of food left, trying to work out what to do with it all.
We had quite a lot of left overs, but my soup maker and slow cooker got some good use!

SneakyGremlins · 31/12/2018 12:57

Paid this month's council tax it's slightly late

LonelyOversharer · 31/12/2018 13:02

I bagged it all up and chucked the turkey in the freezer after boxing day Grin enough was enough. I think there are four meals worth of meat individually bagged. We love JO turkey and leek pie here.

Just gearing up for a top up to asda. Plus a new mop and bucket. We have meal planned for the next 3 days...home made pizza, baked spuds and a 'random pasta' (all the odds and ends into a sauce). Need some bread and cereals too.

Then, for the new year we are going full on meal plan and appropriate online shop. Being off work has done dramatic things to my frittery shopping.

How is it 1pm already??

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/12/2018 13:11

Oh I hear you lonely!
Hoping we have enough food to stretch till Friday as I'm trying to sort out the rest of the house before school/work starts again on the 7th.
But I do have lunches (soup) for the first 3 days back at work.
Then will be back to full meal planning and online shopping.

Bornlazy · 31/12/2018 13:11

That’s the perfect Christmas Cag well maybe not the half decorated Christmas tree but you know what I mean. My tree is a bit of a riot as the cats have knocked off quite a few of the baubles and they’ve just been put back on anywhere. Will leave it up until the 2nd and then I think it will come down.

Was thinking Autumn are you sure that was your Brexit pile that you’ve been taking from and not just your normal food shop that you’ve happened to put in the space where the Brexit pile will go? 😜

That’s another reason that stockpiling might not work for me as I lack the discipline to leave things untouched for months. If I ran out I’d be straight into the pile... in the lead up to Christmas I had to replace the same box of Liquorice Allsorts three times as I ate them Blush

SneakyGremlins · 31/12/2018 13:14

Born Are you me?

I have a cupboard of stored spare bits that I keep dipping into when I don't fancy anything in the normal cupboard..

Bornlazy · 31/12/2018 13:31

Sneaky all I’ll have left is empty wrappers and things I didn’t want to eat in the first place 😉
