We do that too Love. Our absolute best idea so far was pillows as it meant we had a lovely comfy bed every night afterwards and felt really good about having spent the money.

I was worried about what to buy dh, then he had an idea of something to buy and bought it, then I forgot he'd done it and started trying to think of something again. Then it arrived today. Tomorrow I imagine I will have forgotten again.

My next mystery is what happened to the wrapping paper that I thought I'd ordered, which then never arrived.

Lovemaltesers · 12/12/2018 17:27

Someone told me today that some mobiles now have the functionality let you draft and then send texts on a certain day/time for you. I thought that was a great idea as then you'd never forget to message someone on their birthday. Doesn't work with iPhone though Sadalthough you can get an app

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 12/12/2018 17:31

I have frying pans but they're very shallow Confused

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/12/2018 17:32

love that would be hilarious. It would mean having messages scheduled to go to relatives to say that we are thinking of them, when in fact, we are not.

One of the best I've heard of is the Interflora website. It apparently has a feature where you can set it to sent flowers to a particular person, a set number of time a year. The flowers can be sent on a specific date, or just randomly. There is also a checkbox to specify whether you want to be told when the flowers have been sent or not. That just boggles my mind.

Lovemaltesers · 12/12/2018 17:35

Well yes, autumn, but then at least you wouldn't have forgotten like I do. I have a friend who gets very huffy if her just before Christmas birthday gets forgotten. Facebook normally reminds me!

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/12/2018 17:43

I'm terrible for that. I have a friend who remembers my birthday every year and sends me Christmas cards, arriving after last post, every year, and I get such a shock every year and that I panic and forget to do anything in return. She's been doing it for 18 years. Blush

Is it Christmas in 13 days time? Maybe I should send her a card. OMG.

Wolfcub · 12/12/2018 17:44

Evening all. Journey home just started. Super tiring day but for no particular reason. Toast and marmite when I get home I think

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/12/2018 17:48

I have to go to ds's nativity in 8 minutes. Braced.

Thatsnotmybaby · 12/12/2018 18:20

NSD for me today .
Hope the nativity play goes better than expected @AutumnLeaves12.

Lovemaltesers · 12/12/2018 18:26

My office is pretty much next to the school hall. Some of the Christmas nativities sound delightful, others the singing is a bit more shouty especially the class murdering songs from a popular filmHmm

PukkaLove · 12/12/2018 19:02

Long time lurker and previous regular.

Hmmm I fancy an Instantpot thanks to this thread.
Lonely you are doing so well
Do you still knit ?
Christmas Spend Well for Less later.
Pre grated cheese is rank-wierd and floury.
Greg would be 😐

Baffled at using cheese graters .
I just whizz in the grating section of the food processor and rinse .
Knuckles intact .

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/12/2018 19:05

We're watching the news, Theresa might be going then.... even by Tory standards their rule so far has been abysmal, once again I am bewildered that anyone would vote for them.

In frugal news I have found the Christmas cards I bought for half price in January 😆

ememem84 · 12/12/2018 19:20

Oh chips with cheese and mayo. Le yum. Food of champions.

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/12/2018 19:23

Thanks thats. Ds had to compete with a tantruming toddler for his first solo singing but stuck with it like a wee trouper and was totally unphased at the end. The second went fine. #ProudMum.

LonelyOversharer · 12/12/2018 19:30

Hey newbies! Welcome back to our thread. Always lots going on here!

I am still knitting ignoring the 9 etsy orders I haven't made yet $340 this month!

A lovely quiet day at work. Now I have assumed the job I wanted, all is smooth. I'm being very careful to be quick and double check stuff. Roll on next Friday and 2 weeks off!!

It has been a nsd for me. However, I realised that my mum has fewer presents than my dad, so I am currently filling a basket in wool warehouse for her...a scheepjes whirl, and a load of lovely drops alpaca 4ply, anough for a cute jumper. Will also purchase and print and laminate the pattern, and buy knitpro needles for her. She is the best mum really. Will use the 10% code, but still expecting roughly £60.

PukkaLove · 12/12/2018 19:34

Lonely £340 income
Thats brilliant !
I knit for myself as the minute I have to do it under pressure I dont want to do it.
Your lucky mum !

Lovemaltesers · 12/12/2018 19:37

Well done autumn DS

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/12/2018 19:41

Thanks love. Ds honestly didn't seem phased. I've been trying to feign relaxation for a fortnight now. He just seemed to kind of take it in his stride.

CurlsandCurves · 12/12/2018 19:42

Yay autumn s DS!

LonelyOversharer · 12/12/2018 19:49

Has everyone got bbc1 on?? I love Steph and Alex!

ememem84 · 12/12/2018 19:49

Watching Christmas shop well for less.

ememem84 · 12/12/2018 19:50

X post with lonely

PukkaLove · 12/12/2018 20:28

There are no words -that was just obscene quite frankly .
A saving of 9K ?
Well I never ...

ememem84 · 12/12/2018 21:18

Thing is though they won’t save £9k. Because they already have the stuff....

I get it though. If they spent less in the first place...

I did love the guys though came across as proper nice. 4 kids! Waaaa!

My sequin Skirt is ace. It is stretchy and fitted and does show a bit of a bump. Although that’s possibly bloatedness and mince pies. No way have I popped out yet. Yay. And it’s dh approved.

Ds met santa at nursery today (and apparently are his body weight in party buffet food wonder where he gets that from?)

He is the absolute loveliest he “chased” me round the kitchen this evening. With both hands in the oven mitts. Screeched with laughter. I may have had a bit of a testy face. Because he’s so big now. He’ll be a fab big bro though.

Annoyingly people are currently selling things we’ll find useful for dc2 on Facebook. Next to me cribs (we didn’t have one of these last time but may get one...) cot beds nursery furniture etc. I’ve said to dh I won’t buy anything until January/February when we will hopefully know more details re dates!! But it’s annoying still. If we’d told everyone we could have bought stuff. But the people who are selling are friends of friends.

LonelyOversharer · 12/12/2018 23:48

Ok, so just spent £42 in wool warehouse. Thats with 2 circular needles and a set of dpn's. I have picked and purchased a pattern £7 from ravelry. This will get printed and laminated. I am giving her the dark demin blue alpaca from my stash. I have 13 balls of it. I was simply never going to knit that skirt.

Have knitted 2 more camels tonight (2 to go) and sewed up some mice. I will get the whole lot boxed off at the weekend.
