Why did nobody tell me you are supposed to wash the Dyson filter and how did I get to nearly 40 and my second Dyson without knowing. I thought the bloody thing was just being rubbish dies of shame

Busy day. All ironing done, one massive load of washing, aprons washed, doormat washed, bathroom cleaned, sink cleaned although post Dyson-gate that was a pointless waste of time. Fridge washed out. Vaccumed downstairs. Wrapped a present I’d forgotten.

Also helped someone with a job application.

Ds has a Christmas concert tonight and I will need to put my Christmas shop away when it arrives. I’m having a short sit before I do anything else

AutumnLeaves12 · 20/12/2018 15:09

I've been out for photons. They were good.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 20/12/2018 15:28

I'M ALIVE

I hate to fall into the dumb millennial cliché but I really don't understand politics, it scares me Xmas Sad

Lovemaltesers · 20/12/2018 15:44

Xmas Grin fluffy. Was it a good row?

DP has just rung to say he is out buying gifts for his staff. Why it hadn't seemed something he could have done earlier, I'll never know. Every year this happens...

I've also given him back most of his family to buy gifts for this year to lighten my load. Wish I'd done it sooner although some of the gifts he has bought are a bit Xmas Shock-- and I will hide when they are given out.-- I have helped when he's asked for something specific from X shop though Halo

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/12/2018 16:05

It was alright. Better to get it over with now than Christmas Eve like last year. Back to being soppy now.

Wolf Can you put it in the washing machine? I put paint rollers in the washing machine.

AutumnLeaves12 · 20/12/2018 16:13

Politics is not meant to be this weird sneaky. Normally it broadly makes sense, but just at the moment it's all a bit bonkers.

Glad to hear that you are alive. StarStarStarStar

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/12/2018 16:19

Sneaky Watch “The thick of it” on Netflix. It’s political satire (but I bet it cuts quite close to the bone).

Dh is just like Malcolm Tucker.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 20/12/2018 16:21

Will check it out!

Glad to hear it's not normally so confusing!

Wolfcub · 20/12/2018 16:42

I bloody love Malcolm Tucker Fluffy

Politics is often this complicated it’s just we don’t usually see this bit of it in public. There’s a lovely bit in the west wing about laws and sausages and not letting the public see you making them. At the moment the whole bloody sausage factory is on show

LonelyOversharer · 20/12/2018 16:51

I am finished for Christmas!!! Yay. Very good last day.

£6 posting ebay sales, then home. My pretty spoons have arrived from China, a punt at £3, they are lovely! I shall wrap them up for me.

A lot to do tonight, but did all my lists at lunchtime, so at least I know what I need to do. I also feel a lot better in myself today. Dp rang the vimto lolly company, they are sending a special sample pack for us to send the rank lollies back. Apparently they were quite concered.

Ok, I absolutely have to get on.

I am ignoring Brexit, by the way. Politics either gives me the rage, or leaves me perplexed. What will be will be, but then I don't work for them.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/12/2018 16:54

Hello everyone,

We've been struggling here dds eardrums went pop at about midnight last night after several hours of agony 😣 so neither of us got much sleep. I wasn't able to take time off work as no carers leave/annual leave left and don't want to take unpaid leave so had to work around taking dd to the Dr's and the bits mum could do. She has antibiotics now but her ears are terrible, leaking constant muck 😵

Stressful to say the least , dd has actually come home and fallen asleep in my bed which she hasn't done in about 8 years!!

Brexit winds me up so much but I think what winds me up the most is the staggering sums of money it's wasted so far, so much good could have been done with that money. I know some people on this thread voted to leave and I have close family and friends in rl who voted to leave but I still can not get my head round it! I blame David Cameron, he is such a dick.

On an entirely different note dd passed her clarinet exam 😊 so pleased for her! autumn is the mark out of 100 do you know and what is the mark to pass?

northender · 20/12/2018 17:00

Fluffy noooo, it's too early for the Christmas row, too much time til actual Christmas for another one!
Had a really productive day. Ticked everything off that was on my list. The main job I still have to do is present wrapping, but I'm hoping to do that on Saturday after Christingle making! Most food & drink is in now. Just a few supermarket bits which will be Saturday early doors I think and then turkey & veg which dh is picking up on Monday. Although as ever we have spent a lot, we won't need to spend much in January as the cupboards are full. Alternatively I could start a preBrexit hoard! Joking aside, I've started to stockpile some things (on a relatively small scale). It's just a precaution as I know that it's happening in government departments.

northender · 20/12/2018 17:04

Yay, well done to your dd Girlie but poor thing re her ear. My dd perforated her eardrum twice & so I know how horrible it can be. Hope the antibiotics kick in quickly.

Wolfcub · 20/12/2018 17:13

Girlie well done to dd and I really hope she feels better soon

Unescorted · 20/12/2018 17:14

girlie that is a roller coaster day for your DD. Congratulations for the clarinet exam and sympathy for the ears.

Wolf Malcolm Tucker is so like people I know. It is scary.

Sneaky politics is easy. Just remember everyone has an angle so trust no one except Wendy & her team who write the House of Commons library briefing papers. To survive in politics you have to be ruthless and understand you are the front facing facade of powerful people.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/12/2018 17:15

I’m determined no more rows. I know which day is the flashpoint so I’m prepared for that.

They used to give antibiotics out much quicker when I was young and my ear drums never perforated. Does a hot water bottle or wheat pack help?.

Lovemaltesers · 20/12/2018 17:33

When are you telling DC about CP lonely? As you drive in? I'm excited for you!

Poor DD girlie

One more day of school/childcare left for everyone. Yay!

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 20/12/2018 17:34

Oh no Girlie! Poor DD Xmas Sad

I have regular arguments with my cat.

Lovemaltesers · 20/12/2018 17:36

Washing the dyson is on my to do list, it's been there about three years wolf. I did achieve the other thing on my to do list Wink

Wolfcub · 20/12/2018 17:43

I don’t feel quite as bad now Love

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/12/2018 17:50

Nsd but only cos I forgot my purse

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/12/2018 17:54

Cats always win arguments.

AutumnLeaves12 · 20/12/2018 17:55

That's brilliant about the clarinet exam Girlie! Fantastic news! Smile StarStarStarStar

The website says:

The total number of marks available in an exam is 150. Candidates need:

100 marks to Pass;
120 marks to pass with Merit;
130 marks to pass with Distinction.

Very well done to your dd. She must have worked so hard and done so well through the exam. Would you mind my asking which pieces she played? I really enjoyed the tunes. Grin

I'm so sorry to hear about her ear trouble. That doesn't sound fun at all. I hope she feels better soon.

LonelyOversharer · 20/12/2018 18:02

love after school, we are going to my mums who will launder all uniform and I'm giving them each a new hoodie and joggies to change into.

Sent dp out for a Chinese, to celebrate me working 6 months without being late once! And I have wrapped his properly secret presents while he is out! I'm quickly knitting a camel, before "sorting out the laundry" stealth packing

Cagliostro · 20/12/2018 18:27

Well done girlieDD but ouch with the ears :( pass marks may depend on which exam board? ABRSM or guildhall etc.

Definitely not an NSD :o
