When and how are you going to tell them Lonely? Are they staying at your mum’s tonight safely out of the way while you ‘sort laundry’? Grin

Spent about £12 in a cafe today (met a friend, drinks and snacks for us and kids) and £6 on a top up shop. Included a mini watermelon, of which the DCs demolished half in one go.

It’s not often I disagree with Jam and while I appreciate that some sectors will be more resilient than others I am not at all relaxed about Brexit. Whether you agree with the principles of Brexit or not, the uncertainty of the process is having a huge impact. On business confidence, on productivity, the opportunity cost of so much government and CS focus for years (while other projects languish) and (in my sector) a rapidly increasing difficulty in recruiting care staff. The impact on the health and care sectors is a massive concern on its own.

ChristmasSeacow · 20/12/2018 18:34

OOps, hasn’t finished... well done to Girlie DD though ears sound awful, hope she perks up soon.

AutumnLeaves12 · 20/12/2018 18:40

Christmas I agree with the worry about the impact on the health and care sectors. I don't think that the government have thought this through at all. It seems bonkers to try to exit so quickly, if we have to do it at all.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/12/2018 18:44

Thanks for all the loveliness re dd passing, her confidence is not at all high so it's such a nice boost. She is currently still asleep, I'm debating whether to leave her or wake her?? She's unlikely to sleep from 4.30pm today until 7.30am tomos!

It must be a different exam board autumn as dd scored 68, no idea what pieces she played! Will ask her when she wakes up.

Totally agree seacow re your thoughts on Brexit, it's already had a devastating impact on our local hospital as EU nurses have left in their droves. The whole thing has caused and stoked so much diversion and racism as well, I can't believe people still think it's a good idea tbh.

AutumnLeaves12 · 20/12/2018 18:51

Girlie That does sound like a different exam board. I did the abrsm exam. Sleep sounds like a good idea.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 20/12/2018 18:56

Back in bed. No bedding or pillowcases but I just need a lie down...

Doorbell has just gone, I'm not answering it!

Quiteismerryandbright · 20/12/2018 20:10

Sneaky
All you need to know about politics is that The Tories are backstabbing arseholes.
Cameron handed a shit sandwich by way of the referendum) to who ever was coming after him.
The PM job was then a hot potato chucked about by Gove/Johnson -"No you have it"
Aah lets give it to a Woman -then we can blame her when it all goes wrong !
Hurrah !
Jacob Rees-Mogg is probably the worst .
I actually recoil .
Im fairly worried and Im a solvent homeowner ( no debts/no mortgage)

Any how moving on !
Have finished work, feeling rather drained but ok.
We had our Christmas argument and all is calm, all is bright .
I have cheese-lots of it .
Everything will be fine then 😂

Evening

Midwife appointment today. Apparently I am 7w4days and due on 4 August. I have a scan appointment (although not until January) and we went through a lot of paperwork.

I am 173cm and 66kg and thankfully so far boring and low risk. Which is what we want.

Bbq chicken pizza and garlic bread for dinner. Mmm.

Dh got his promotion and pay rise. So am extra £500 a month (net) coming in. Phew.

Ds had some pics taken at nursery today. Dressed as an angel. See attached. This is too cute not to share. And I say that as his biased mother.

Nsd and payday tomorrow

I'm meeting my Dad tomorrow and going for lunch with him. Then I'll finish off the last few shopping bits.

Girlie poor DD - that ear thing sounds nasty. Great news about her clarinet exam.

Finally made it to the supermarket, hideous but done now. Last day at work tomorrow, yipeeeeeeeeXmas Smile

Justanothermile · 20/12/2018 22:10

Indeed Seacow, and I agree - some sectors are not as versatile. I understand those concerns. I was talking from a small business perspective. The government does fuck all for us anyway in truth, and we've little choice but to carry on trading as we always have, 'cos we got wages to pay and orders to fulfil. Ironically, the crash of the pound has seen a flood of business from the EU and further afield, even if it's less than successful for our pensions. We can't really worry about it or plan and so we plod on.

That's wonderful news for your Dd girlie, but not on the ears. My best friend has struggled all her life with her ears, I remember one drum perforating when we were teenagers and the sheer agony. Has she settled a little at school with a kinder set of friends?

DH came up trumps with a super miniature holly bush for his DM, which he decorated in lights. £30

The dc have spent all afternoon putting lights all over the house, arguing in a good natured manner about who was right, wrong, the favourite child etc, calling each other names etc. I've spent a lot of time smiling and listening.

Justanothermile · 20/12/2018 22:11

Scrummy em!

Ggreengrass1 · 20/12/2018 22:11

Squadgy

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/12/2018 22:22

Adorable pic em he is so cute! An August born huh, that'll save you nearly a year on nursery fees 😉

Yes jam she was in agony last night, haven't seen her in that much pain in a long time. Have been alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen today and that seems to be helping, you can tell when it starts to wear off though. She has definitely settled a bit more this year friendship wise, thank god! She still struggles sometimes but seems happy to flit between a couple of friendship groups.

I'm tucked up in bed, dd next to me again! Managed a nsd today.

Hoping dd might be well enough for school tomorrow, she wants to go as it's the last day of term and there are lots of nice things happening. They finish at lunchtime tomorrow anyway.

Quiteismerryandbright · 20/12/2018 22:31

Ggreen
I have been fairly restrained as its 50% off now.
Girlie DS2 had this .
Gp said it was because tall thin DC have thin ear canals .
Not sure if thats true but he hasnt had a problem since 9/10 .
He chewed a fair bit of gum -helps clear /drain the gunk.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 20/12/2018 22:34

Awwwwww em!!!

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 20/12/2018 22:34

My next ESA payment is due boxing day. Bets on when it'll arrive?

Unescorted · 20/12/2018 23:43

em how cute. Def keep it for his 18th. We have DD as a green Goddess...she coloured her self in with a green Sharpie dissolved in emoliant cream. It was a strong look.

Jam that is the frustration - no definition just incase they offend a voter. It leaves everyone floundering in the dark. Tell us where we are asking for and we can plan.

Sneaky even Paddy Power won't give you odds.

Happierwithouthim · 21/12/2018 05:38
