Oooo! yes maybe. I was sure I must have forgotten something. I miss her too. I kind of assumed she'd be back. Maybe after she's not on the Christmas thread any more?

QforCucumber · 15/12/2018 18:27

We are doing it all quite frugally of course....getting married in vegas just us 2 with an at home reception to appease friends and family. All under £8k Grin

northender · 15/12/2018 18:30

Quick check in, no time to read back.
Been busy studying & preparing for entertaining tomorrow afternoon. Doing open house, mulled wine & mince pies. Need to get up early to make said mulled wine & mince pies as out for work Xmas meal tonight. Looking forward to entertaining, lots of people coming, but timing could've been better with my study & all that.

Have spent loads over past few days but budgeted for & everything will be used. Most of the food & drink spending has been on non perishable things so as long as we use all fresh things, we're all good.

Will catch up tomorrow night.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/12/2018 18:43

£12 in Sainsburys.

AutumnLeaves12 · 15/12/2018 19:08

That's impressive doing it frugally Q. I did that, and I was knackered after the wedding from a year of scrimping and looking for the best prices on everything. Dh banned me from the internet on our honeymoon.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/12/2018 19:16

Not quite caught up on the thread, works been busy and at mums now watching strictly!

seacow my dd (also 12yo) loves her smoothie maker, I got it for her last Christmas and she uses it loads, might be an alternative idea?

CurlsandCurves · 15/12/2018 19:30

northender I’m the same as you at the mo, busy, spendy, etc. But again, all saved for in advance.

Really pleased as I think we might be able to push the boat out and have a little get together on New Year’s Day! Well, I say I think, I’ve actually already decided, invited a handful of people already, just not told DH yet! We were already having my parents over and mum and I had decided to do lots of nibbly things, cheese and biscuits, etc. Then I bought a piece of gammon. Then she went to Iceland and got some of their party nibbles. And we are bound to have loads of other stuff left over, so what the heck!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/12/2018 19:32

NSD yesterday.
We had a well being evening at work yesterday. As we got outstanding our governors donated some money and that helped pay for some professionals to come in and we had manicures, facials and massages.
It was a really good night and I got my nails done!

Spends today
£8 odd on lunch for me and dd2
£9 on a bracelet, secret Santa gift for work
£4 poundshop on some harry potter stationery for dd1
£6.77 in asda on mince pies and a few sweets.

Well done on the weight loss sea

Oh and £6 visiting Santa

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 15/12/2018 20:27

Does anyone know if Aldi do an own brand benylin or similar?

Quitestoletheglitterball · 15/12/2018 20:39

Loving this from Janette and Aljaz 😍
Oh Faye 💕-totally deserves to win but I dont think she will.
She was fabulous !

AutumnLeaves12 · 15/12/2018 20:49

Well done curvy. Smile That sounds really nice.

I've just been doing some of my painting by numbers picture and it's coming on quiet well now. I attached a photo.

Wolfcub · 15/12/2018 21:14

Quite I thought Faye was amazing

Curls that was a lovely treat from work

Happier I hope you are having a lovely night out

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/12/2018 21:37

Enjoyed strictly, dd was ecstatic as she has been team stracy since the beginning! Faye was actually my surprise favourite, the judges favouritism with Ashley was laughable!

Anyway I'm now in bed as work again tomorrow and I'm cream crackered 😪

I spent £2.80 today on a sandwich and cup of tea.

Cagliostro · 15/12/2018 22:04

I would have been genuinely happy for any of the four to win really, however the emotion on Kevin’s (still-eyelinered-from-paso) face just made my day ❤️ I’ve loved him since his near win with Kelly from EastEnders.

We’ve had a nice day, friend and her DD really appreciated our visit, I just can’t believe she has two kids with T1 now 😰

We then helped at this monthly event a friend set up, they take donations of clothes and baby stuff, it’s all set up like at a boot fair type thing but no money needed. So we helped put tables out display stuff etc and then moved it all back at the end.

SnugglySnerd · 15/12/2018 22:05

Been avoiding the Internet all evening as well has to watch Strictly an hour behind. Loved it. Loved all the show dances. I was on Team Stacey all along but they all would have deserved to win.

OP posts:
LonelyOversharer · 15/12/2018 22:12

Watched strictly with 2 bickering girls with me on the bed Hmm I couldn't get them to shut up or go away. Thought Faye was outstanding, could have done without KFG falling to bits infront of the trophy as well!

We have the lightest dusting of snow, but I think it's raining now. Have to take dd1 voulenteering tomorrow, so will do a little food shop while I wait for her. Will probably get a costa and knit in the car.

Quitestoletheglitterball · 15/12/2018 22:16

First Strictly where I have been pretty meh about the result but the judges faces said it all 😂
Faye was absolutely brilliant .
Oh Kevin was priceless (not in a good way) 😂🤣
Cant believe its over 😭😭😭

Cagliostro · 15/12/2018 22:28

Nawwww I love Kevin :o :o
I didn’t notice the judges’ faces! What did they look like?

ChristmasSeacow · 15/12/2018 22:32

First time I’ve watched Strictly in real time, thanks to DH doing kids’ bedtime solo 👏🏻. I really enjoyed it. I’ve really liked Stacey from the beginning and I wanted her to get to the final but I didn’t necessarily think she deserved to win. I thought Faye was amazing (in fact I actually voted for her) but I wasn’t surprised she won. It was a great night but I always feel a bit bereft once it’s all over. I’ll have to start talking to DH on Saturday nights.

I’ve been wrapping all evening, still going. Stocking fillers at the mo, wrapped in tissue paper. Because that’s what Santa uses Wink

Cagliostro · 15/12/2018 22:40

My two are only just going to bed, we watched Michael Macintyre too. Send to All with Anton Du Beke :o will he ever retire?!

So did you look up the Luggy seacow #enabling #sorrynotsorry

Quitestoletheglitterball · 15/12/2018 22:40

Cag
😐🤤🙄😲

Haha it was brilliant!

Cagliostro · 15/12/2018 22:41

And yes Santa definitely uses tissue paper!

Although he’s not sure what he’s doing about the “main” present this year. It’s usually been a playmobil set which would be unwrapped and built in the living room on Christmas Eve (with copious baileys) but they’re growing up and for the first time may have separate presents. And of course baby has her own thing. Eek.

Cagliostro · 15/12/2018 22:44

In that order was it quite :o

Quitestoletheglitterball · 15/12/2018 22:49

Mind you Cag Im not actually sure Craig is able to move his face !
