😖 woke up with terrible heartburn and now can’t get back to sleep.

Girlie I saw a north face coat that was a good price £44 ( well a good price for north face ) that might fit your dd. It’s a thermoball one - I don’t want to link it as it will vanish.

ememem84 · 29/10/2018 06:23

Morning. Starting as we mean to go on I’ve been awake for half hour and up (still in jammies) for 15 mins. I have a cup of tea. Yay.

I worked out that I rarely get any time to myself anymore so decided to take half hour or so every morning and have my tea and chill.

I’ve read emails, checked online banking, emptied dishwasher, and have our food out for catface. No idea where she is. She’s now downstairs and wasn’t upstairs (that I could see anyway - but probably under our bed or in with ds).

Today’s planned spends:

Pay drain bill £200
Boots for washcloths for ds, new bath toys and shampoo for dh (probably around £20)

I must drink more water today. I had a horrible dehydration headache on Saturday night and a milder one last night. Eugh.

Have my water bottle with me here and must finish before I go to work.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/10/2018 07:00

Morning
Gym this morning, homework, pack and drive to lakes early afternoon

It's ok cag, my kids would never want me to home educate them. Play to your strengths

LonelyOversharer · 29/10/2018 07:17

Morning all. Back to work for me today. At least I woke up in time.

I would love to do bakeoff. I could easily get past a few rounds...but. My body does not deal with adrenaline at all. Since the spinal for dd1, any (either in meds or natural) makes me shake and tremble. I cannot conttol it, and would render me pretty useless in the delicate piping department! It takes a few hours to die down, and doesn't go away, so I'd just shake all the way through every filming.

Right. Must make lunches. Wonder where the lunch bags are! Dd1 has already askes for much needed stuff that I apparently have moved from her bedroom floor.

Bank holiday here guys just felt like rubbing it in Grin

Dc were at their dads from 9pm fri until 6pm yesterday so just going to enjoy being with them today.

I'm debating cinema & have looked at booking CBeebies Christmas special there on 15th Dec but that's my Christmas party & don't want to be under pressure for it either

Was that an epidural lonely? I didn't know it could have that effect.

WereWolfcub · 29/10/2018 07:51

Morning all happy Monday.

I think we survived yesterday but it was hard, thanks for all the virtual cuddles and the dinner and meet up offer. So lovely of you all. I am very lousy company at the moment though. Dm and df are taking us to the seaside today. Extra people will take the pressure off a bit and I’m a great believer in the power of fresh air for children.

Em glad you are in and settling. I’ve always got up earlier than everyone else, I think it makes a massive difference to your day so I hope it works for you.

Life enjoy the lakes it’s one of my favourite places.

Mammy enjoy your bank holiday with the dcs

Have a lovely day mammy.

I could stay in bed longer but love a cuppa and a Mumsnet before the day starts.

I think a autumn beach day will be lovely wolf. Bad company or not the offer is still there.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/10/2018 08:31

I'm still in bed, it's half term here this week and I'm only wking Fri.

I've booked dd a facial this morning, first time she has had anything like that so hoping she will like it, £20.

She is meeting a friend to go bowling later, think that will be about £20 as well by the time they've had something to eat and played the arcades as well.

I'm planning a quiet day for me....

kitkat6 · 29/10/2018 09:20

Catching up after the weekend just the 7 pages :-)

Miraculously low spend weekend! We had a lovely day out at the local wildlife park on Saturday which we have annual passes for and didn't stop for food or purchase any tat from the shop. Also remembered to buy a multipack of chocolate bars for after swimming rather than buying ones from the vending machine. DC2 did talk me into a kinder egg when i called at the shop however he plays with the plastic toys for ages so probably worth the 89p!

w/end spends:
coop - 1.86p (chocolate)
Gloves - 4.75p (three pairs so not bad)
Macdonalds - £12.87 (failure of starving children and no food in the car)
Rug for Dfoal - £10 second hand should have been £50

Still need to do food plan for this week, we still have loads of butternut squash left from the allotment (ponies field) so I either need to have a cook up or everyone will be eating butternut squash soup all week which they apparently don't like.

For once I have no invoices outstanding!! However I only have one client to invoice this week.

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 10:42

I had a huge list of things to do this morning, but I have managed to do most of them online, and the remaining three can all be done by bike tomorrow. Phew!

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 11:50

I just heard that I got another £1000 science grant. That's pretty nifty isn't it? I must have done my project okay. Yay!

kitkat6 · 29/10/2018 11:58

autumn that is great news especially for a monday morning

mammynowanauntyIRL · 29/10/2018 12:00

Not sure if I posted spends yesterday but it was €15.33 on school holiday jar of Nutella, cat food, 4 pk of boost bars for movie time with dc, bag of popcorn for my journey & a muscle food dinner (wasn't great)
€60 on fuel card- I used a full tank of diesel between sat & sun

We're using boost tokens to go bowling today & will do the grocery shopping too

Half term here too girlie I'm working every day except today & finish at 3pm Thursday, had planned bowling for then so might do cinema trip or dinner out instead.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 29/10/2018 12:00

Great news autumn

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 12:00

Thanks Kitkat. I must admit it was timely. I was just falling over in an exhausted heap after the holiday and that was a nice thing to come back to.

moimichme · 29/10/2018 12:27

Hello all, can I join you? I want to start properly saving for a house (or flat) deposit and really, with our income, we should be able to save a wee bit every month, but somehow most of our money seems to disappear. Childcare is a huge cost with us both working full-time, as is my DH's costs for his long commute. I suspect one of the biggest culprits we can control is eating out and buying coffee etc. at work. We're vegan and there's only 3 of us, one of whom is a toddler - although we mainly eat fresh fruit and veg, it's not all that expensive (and thankfully the little one is happy to eat what we have, so far). Meal planning would help us with dining out and top-up shops, but we need to put our heads down and actually do it (DH does over 50% of cooking but I think he'll be willing to try it, too). I really want to aim for more NSDs, but with winter coming I think ds and I will be taking the bus back from the childminder's house most days. Hmm.

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 12:30

Welcome moimichme . It sounds as though you're heading in the right direction. It'll be great to hear about what you do as you work towards your house-buying plan. Smile

ememem84 · 29/10/2018 12:57

£34 boots on bath things flannels and shampoo
£17 local diy store on rug grippers.
£3.75 soup roll and crisps.

WreckTangled · 29/10/2018 13:00

£5.85 lunch 😳😳 was so good though

Cagliostro · 29/10/2018 13:13

Tooth removal was much quicker than he expected so he also got filling done, and started fitting my crown except that got a bit complicated. So frugal win as I now only need one more appt and it’ll be before my exemption runs out. However I now feel somewhat horrific due to so much being done at once. Worth it though to get it out the way. I may regret this later 🤔😬

ememem84 · 29/10/2018 13:14

Oh cag take painkillers now if you can. Xxx and take it easy the rest of the day. Xx

kitkat6 · 29/10/2018 13:15

Just a quick aside I found out over the weekend that my bank (halifax) does penny saving rounding up all purchases and direct debits to the nearest £. Then it puts the excess in the linked savings account. Might be useful for those who want to do some subconscious saving. With Halifax it is called Save The Change
