Lovely post lonely

How do they find pre-cancerous cells in your neck summer?

Eeek! All change for you again seacow. Probably as others said, the less time to think about it may be helpful. As for all the things to do around the house, we're finally getting to them now that DD2 is 3.5 Grin

My DD2 is being hard work at the moment. She keeps yelling in baby babble (she can talk fine). I think it's because she spends the day with a one year old at the childminder so she is doing it for attention. Very wearing at the end of a long day.

I need a long relaxing bath as I think I have got a bit of tension pain in my neck.

NSD

Lovemaltesers · 25/09/2018 19:49

Heating will probably come on here tomorrow morning if it's cold enough. Freezing this morning

Justanothermile · 25/09/2018 19:51

Lovely menu plan wolf, the IP will be in good use. The curry was good. Caveat was that I roasted the cauliflower and stirred in at the end, to keep it crispy.

Thanks North, how are DS's eyes today? Uni soup sounds lovely!

em blue teeth are what birthdays are all about ! Grin

SummerDaize · 25/09/2018 20:03

i'm not exactly sure why the GP thought it was pre-cancerous cells on my neck, except that I mentioned that those kind of things run in my family. She just looked it the thing with a lit magnifier and gave me this cream stuff called solaraze. Having said that, I also put E45 on overnight while I was waiting to get to the pharmacy and it looks a lot better today and is flat instead of bumpy, so that's encouraging.

lonely that's fantastic news about how you've turned things around. I'm especially glad to hear that you are are not having to cut back on food to make the money stretch. That is really very good news. It always worries me when someone on the forum is having to skimp on food.

WreckTangled · 25/09/2018 20:08

Sounds like sun damage. My dad has a lot from working outside.

I'm having a hot chocolate and am under a blanket. Hard to believe it's going to be really warm Thursday!

£20 fuel today
£50 next account. I will pay that fucker off even if it takes me over a year Blush

SummerDaize · 25/09/2018 20:09

what's does sun damage actually mean wreck

CurlsandCurves · 25/09/2018 20:10

Sorry, will catch up with the thread in a mo.

But I’m just watching the Martin Lewis Money Show. £7k on Christmas presents???

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 20:15

Lonely that is so awesome!

NSD other than Tesco order. It’s been a lovely day with lots of home ed done - we are hitting our stride for the new term - including having a friend round to start a regular English session (will have homework etc). Worked brilliantly and it really feels like we are entering a new era in our home ed now.

TV signal is really dodgy which is annoying because Bake Off 😭

WreckTangled · 25/09/2018 20:16

I'm no expert (we used to have a consultant lead dermatology clinic where I used to work though 🤣) but my understanding is that the sun damages your skin and causes sun spots which can be harmless or can turn into a lesion. They usually give a cream which is a bit like a mild chemical peel and can take away the top layers to try and stop them further developing. I may be completely wrong Grin

ememem84 · 25/09/2018 20:17

I spent today. £60 on new look on 4 pairs of tights (two 120 denier black opaques and two pairs of fleece lined tights - one for me one for dsis). And a pair of leopard print ankle boots. Did I need them?! Nope. But do I love them?! Yes. And leopard is a neutral. So....will go with everything.

I did need the tights though. As have none. And it’s almost time.

lonely you will get there. I remember feeling overwhelmed by debt. I had what I thought was a colossal amount but am now (relatively) debt free. By that I mean credit card is manageable - I use it then pay off. And our only big debt is the mortgage.

For me it’s scary going into the new mortgage although at £1500 a month it’s “only” £200 more than our old one. So is doable. We’ll have to budget and may not have savings for a bit. But. We can do it.

All of us. We can.

Justanothermile · 25/09/2018 20:17

Mine too wreck, both DF and his partner were referred to a consultant dermatologist and given cream treatment. It made their skin very red and blotchy and sensitive for a few weeks and they now have to wear sunblock on the affected areas. But helped. It kind of peeled away the damaged areas. Simple explanation as I'm no expert. Grin

DH was a bit trickier as he had non malignant cancer on the skin, a few regulars may remember this? Again a dermatologist referral and this time removal of the lump. He's been back once since for a similar patch of skin that had changed but this was skin damage alone.

Lonely that’s great news, here’s to taking charge of your life and getting back in control!

QuitelovesStrictly · 25/09/2018 20:23

Crikey em
Well done on the mortgage deal-£200 extra for a house .Way to go!

I m looking for boots .I want long tan casual ones.I can see them in my head but not in the shops 😂
I spent £29 in Uniqlo on thermal leggings, the super thin Heattech ones to wear under work clothes,I have the vests already #glamour

WreckTangled · 25/09/2018 20:31

Sounds like dh had a BCC jam? My dad had a SCC and had to have a bit of his ear removed. He now has a hole in it Hmm they didn't know about sun damage when he was younger, he says.

WreckTangled · 25/09/2018 20:32

Quite I like the dune ones and some in fat face (I also like tan casual boots for winter!)

Justanothermile · 25/09/2018 20:43

I’m not sure wreck re DH, other than that they referred to it as cancerous but not malignant and were keen to take the lump off, it was on his hand. Yes, DF has all sorts of bit of him treated, including his ear, but they were not so aware then were they? He’s also very dark skinned, so not your classic example. I’ve got a couple of patches on my face that I should really get checked out at some point.

I’m liking the idea of the ankle boots em, I’ve bought a pair of flat ones with just a stripe at the back of them of print.

Well Ofsted went well, the inspector was very positive, but will have to wait and see.
sea, new job sounds very exciting.
North hope ds feels better soon.

Hope everyone had a good Tuesday.
LSD £5.30 on fruit, milk and bread

QuitelovesStrictly · 25/09/2018 21:04

Thanks Wreck
Forgot about Dune

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/09/2018 21:14

That's lovely lonely. Wish you nothing but well once this is sorted.

YY jam, poverty never really leaves you even when your aren't poor.

Great news on the mortgage - girlie was it?

Don't worry snug. Post when you can.

Food gets the smell test here wolf, unless it's a use by. I'm more first about them.

Sorry to hear about you neck sunny. I have loads of sun spots, some removed, some to watch.

It's gone a bit crazy here money wise. DC birthday is always pricey.
Also not been planning or eating food correctly.
It's stressful but not as much as it was.

Pleased Ofsted went ok curves

ememem84 · 25/09/2018 21:37

Yeah quite we’ve got a good rate too. 1.94%. Fixed for 5 years. We know rates will drop again. So happy to fix for now for stability and we can afford it.

We earned much less the last time we paid thismuch for the mortgage. We can do this

Mortgage free by 50. That’s the goal. I’m pretty sure I said by 45 a while ago. But going with 50 now. Mortgage is over 30 years. But if we can pay off in a few less all thebetter.

I’m still after a paid of slouchy suede black boots. I had an ace pair from dune. Calf length. Lovely. But they got worn to death so had to go. On the hunt again

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 21:38

Oh I forgot I spent £10 today ordering my replacement bus pass 🙄😳🤦‍♀️ Worth it though for free travel pretty much country wide. But I will need a nice holder (I miss my cactus one) 😂

Need to top up the Caglets key cards as well now I have the money. Something like £160 to cover them both for 13 weeks I think.

Will be a tenner again on art award class tomorrow. Plus DH and I can go have brunch while they’re there yay! An actual date. With the baby but still.

ChristmasSeacow · 25/09/2018 23:07

I thought I posted earlier but it must have got lost, grrr.

North I’m sorry to hear about DS’s eyes again. Must be really hard for him.

Great post Lonely. I’m so glad things are looking up for you!

I wish you’d all stop talking about Nice Boots. I am well Envy as I can’t wear anything nice atm. Though I have to admit my foot pain has lessened since wearing nothing but Fitflops for the last few days. I kept 3 pairs from my mega order in the end: ankle boots, sneakers and slippers, about £200 total. And that was with a discount code. So bloody ugly and quite expensive for the quality of the materials BUT they really are helping the PF. Fingers crossed it will keep improving. And that no one looks at my feet too closely.

I’ve dug out some clothes that will hopefully work okay for my work meeting on Friday. It’s not a permanent job btw, just a piece of project work, but that suits me better for now. Fingers crossed it all works out.

I’ve had a horrible headache all day, ibuprofen hasn’t shifted it. I can’t remember much of what I’ve read, sorry! DD has also started saying ‘no!’ and boy is she using it liberally and being a right pita HmmGrin so it’s been a long day. She’s properly in DH’s good books though... she pointed to his T-shirt this evening and said ‘the doctor!’ (It was a Dr Who t shirt). He said she asked what a different Dr Who t-shirt was the other day and obviously recognised him on this one. Daddy was very proud Grin. I will
be steering her more towards the Bake Off Wink

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/09/2018 23:34

That's so cute seacow she sounds adorable, hope your head feels better soon.

Application finally done, eek! Bed now 😴

northender · 25/09/2018 23:57

Curvy glad ofsted went well.
wolf that meal plan sounds really good.
Ds' eyes have been worse today Sad thanks all for asking. He is really down as he's feeling unwell & tired too & no one seems to be able to explain it. I'm going to have to have my determined head on with the GP on Friday to get some answers/investigations or be referred on.
