Hope he has a good day Wreck.

QuitelovesStrictly · 04/09/2018 08:05

Actually Snuggly
I only did that once and got extreme grumpiness so after that I breezily announced they would be responsible for getting themselves up.
I would happily carry on and drink coffee as they raced around and were late but it did the trick!
Alarms set etc Grin

CurlsandCurves · 04/09/2018 08:09

Wreck sorry to hear your boy is not feeling good about school. Hope it goes ok for him.

Just got the youngest going back today. Eldest was out at his mates on a sleepover last night, which made getting the youngest in bed a time a decent time a lot easier. Eldest goes back tomorrow.

Got ww this morning, see what damage I’ve done on the scales! Then I’m running my dads business for a couple of weeks while they’re away so got to nip round and get up to speed with everything there. Quite looking forward to it, it’s interesting work.

WreckTangled · 04/09/2018 08:25

Thanks. He's going into year one so knows it'll be quite different! I could feel his heart beating through his jumper 😭

Justanothermile · 04/09/2018 08:42

I got the pot you linked fluffster, I often do coat in flour, just wasn't sure exactly how much liquid would be generated, learning as I go.

Oh girlie, back to the doctors maybe?

That recipe sounds good unescorted, I'm glad you mentioned it as that's something I wouldn't have thought of to make.

Spends today will be
£5 class.
£80 Ocado - really pissed with myself as I didn't edit the order in time and had bought most of the stuff I needed yesterday.
£ possibly on some fruit and veg. Maybe.

The new boiler is being dropped off too, that's being fitted tomorrow.

Need to call the dentist, curtain shop and a few other places. Dig out some stuff from the loft. Remind DS to look around for laptop bargains.

Have a good day you all. Hope the term start is okay.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/09/2018 08:48

Yes back to the Dr's, I'm not normally much a crier but was really upset last night 😢 the thought of being in pain indefinitely does not appeal!! Plus am now getting pins and needles in my fingers which I'm guessing is not good...

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/09/2018 08:49

Good luck to all the kids going back to school today, dd goes back tomos and is not looking forward to it....

Justanothermile · 04/09/2018 08:52

No that's really really really not good. Please go back. Xx

TakeItSlow · 04/09/2018 09:05

Take care there Girlie. I hope the Doctor is able to help.

My life is pottering along quite nicely at the moment, you'll be glad to hear. I keep trying to remember to say it, as I usually only mention when it isn't.

I'm going on an adventure to the woodwind shop today to ask about something called key regulation, roughly translated as "Why is my finger not big enough to cover this hole?".

QuitelovesStrictly · 04/09/2018 09:23

Wreck
Is there something your DS is particularly worried about?
Mine were always a teeny bit nervous but usually giddy with excitement and its rather sad for him to be so upset Sad
Change of school??

Taytocrisps · 04/09/2018 09:23

Girlie sorry to hear you're in so much pain and discomfort. And the pins and needles is an added worry. Hope the doctor can sort it out. Or possibly refer you elsewhere.

Can anyone recommend a good water bottle for DD for school? I've bought loads over the years and either they leak or DD drops them after two days and they crack or whatever. She's a bit of a disaster where bottles are concerned. I'm starting to wonder if it might be cheaper just to buy the multi packs of water bottles. But then I think of all that plastic Sad. I can order from Amazon although I've to pay a delivery charge to Ireland.

WreckTangled · 04/09/2018 09:26

Girlie poor you! I hope the dr can offer you a solution.

Tayto we tend to use sistema or Aladdin.

Quite it's because he's going into year one and he thinks he won't be able to do the work Sad

ChristmasSeacow · 04/09/2018 10:41

Wreck my DS is going into Year 1. I don’t really know what he’s feeling about it (he goes back tomorrow so his behaviour tonight and tomorrow will tell me!) but I know his classmates were very apprehensive before the summer break. I think school tries to prepare them for the fact it will be different but it does become A Big Thing to them. Hopefully a couple of days in he will feel much assured and will be enjoying it.

Sorry to read that some of you are having a tricky time Flowers for Girlie especially. Please go back. And are you off work again? It sounds as though you should be signed off for the time being.

Went to the beach yesterday and had a lovely day - and lsd. Took a picnic and only spends were £3.50 on a bucket and spade for DD (DS already had one) and an extra spade for DH HmmGrin. DS had a brilliant time, dd spent most of the time crying as we wouldn’t let her crawl into the sea.

Sending DH out to the garden to enjoy the last day of the hols with DS while I do lots of chores today. I’m in the mood for rolling my sleeves up and doing some batch cooking, lots of washing, bit of decluttering, labelling school stuff etc.

Jam like you I have naffed up the Ocado order. I missed the cut off and hadn’t added essentials (milk! Bread!) and they didn’t have lemongrass either... so off to Waitrose (again) in a minute. Grrr.

I’m interviewing a nanny tonight - any tips?

Cagliostro · 04/09/2018 10:45

I’ve spent some time this morning rearranging bookshelves (they were all just shoved on as soon as we built the kallax but I’m starting to get like things together now such as textbooks for the new school year etc)

DH has taken the Caglets to the park and I’m going to set up the printer to avoid the temptation of sitting watching king of the hill the whole time. #tired

Best of luck to all the school/new school year starters today ❤️⭐️

Spends yesterday:
£46 Lidl

I'm still working out my September budget, now that I'm back on full salary and no longer saving for the unpaid part of maternity leave.

ememem84 · 04/09/2018 11:30

Today’s outfit (which is slightly unconventional for work):

Denim shirt (ironed - tucked in and sleeves rolled up)
Black pencil skirt
Leopard print pointy flats
Yellow handbag.

The boss raised an eyebrow in a “denim not on a Friday.?” Way and I emailed to point out old scruffy pants behind me and the serial trainer wearers (my old assistant who came back yay! And old scruffypants). He nodded.

Essentially I look smart in a smart casual way. And only push the boundaries occasionally.

I’ve brought my lunch with me today. Made a sandwich. Yay!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/09/2018 11:51

Dr has signed me off for a week and given me a px for amitriptyline which I'm reluctant to take but will see how I go.

Dd has decided the school shoes we got her are no good so am going to take them back and then sit in the shoe shop until she finds some she does like!!

TakeItSlow · 04/09/2018 12:42

Well done Girlie. I suppose you want the problem fixed rather than medicated away really don't you? Flowers

ememem84 · 04/09/2018 12:44

£24 next. Oops. I bought a slouchy Breton stripe jumper. I was tempted by a leopard print clutch in accessorise but left it. I don’t really need it....

Cagliostro · 04/09/2018 12:46

Glad you have got signed off. Amitriptyline made me very sleepy.

Chicken isn’t cooked yet so I shoved all the veg on a plate and we are all picking at it. Yum.

Printer is set up. Up to 900 pages in total during the next three months then paying 3.49 a month for 100 pages.

OP posts:
QuitelovesStrictly · 04/09/2018 13:02

Girlie
It might be a good idea to try the Amitryptyline while you are signed off -it will make you sleepy but you then have a period of adjustment .
Worked a treat for my arm/shoulder pain and Im sure you are aware there is unlikely to be a quick "fix" .
Your current priority should be adequate pain relief and then pushing for a scan Flowers

WreckTangled · 04/09/2018 13:30

Four hours. The time it's taken the school to request money since re opening for the autumn term.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2018 14:23

Wow your schools slow off the mark wreck Grin

Girlie Its used for podiatry patients with peripheral neuropathy. It seems well tolerated but most pts have no preconceived ideas about it.

Em Its the month of no none essential spending isn't it?.

NSD & my menstrual cup arrived. Dh has said it's disgusting & he's not helping me if it gets stuck. Meh.

Cagliostro · 04/09/2018 14:24

Oh gawd wreck 💸💸💸

Might send the caglets to the park for a bit so I can get on with lesson planning (as it were). Kicking off with geography and RE as well as continuing the maths English and Japanese we were focusing on last term.

I am quite excited about all the free printing. Must print all the things.

WreckTangled · 04/09/2018 14:31

Girlie I've taken it with no problems. Found gabapentin worked better for me though
