Take yes, of course.
I try and buy what's on offer or in season and have a couple of veggie meals too. I use lots of spices, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, frozen onions and tinned tomatoes as well as cheap fruit and veg such as frozen peas, sweetcorn and cheap fruit like bananas and mini apples. Fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme freeze really well too and they stretch really far.
What I don't buy is two for £2.50 type offers, those £3 for 10 meat offers, bagged salad or prepared fruit and veg.
Here is a quick meal plan:
Breakfast; branflakes, bananas, greek yoghurt and milk or toast
Lunch; wholewheat wraps for chicken salad or spicy tuna and lettuce (sriracha, soy sauce and mayo in the fridge already) We will also have beans on toast and jackets with cheese and tomatoes.
Dinner; baked eggs and crusty bread, chicken hit and run traybake and basmati (rice in the cupboard already), frozen basa (sprinkled with cajun spice), new pots and peas, spaghetti with garlic mushrooms and creme fraiche.
Also squash and coffee, oatcakes, apples, grapes, hula hoops and bake your own cookie dough.
According to my receipt I saved over £7 buying stuff on offer.
I just read that back and it sounds more holy than thou! We do also eat frozen chips and pizzas! LOL
