Now that I've put that in the title, we will almost certainly get snow. LOL!

Welcome to nearly-August.

You'd be surprised wreck :o I really hope it's not nicked though.

I have hufflepuff socks hanging from the buggy handle to dry Hmm Cagletini is asleep what's the betting she wakes up and screams all the way home? It's nice knowing we will be home by six though and I have the energy to cook - I bought some fancy colored pasta in tkmaxx for a laugh and then got some veg at the market.

Couldn't find any glass chopping boards anyway so I got those chop to pot ones in tkmaxx, I had thought they were nice anyway. And a planned spend in the board game shop, not the one I'd thought but I make a point of always getting something in there (indie shop with awesome manager, it's a use it or lose it thing), and rompers in m&s that the baby sleeps in while it's hot, will be switching to 9-12m soon! Frugal me was sensible, I fell for them but left them for a bit to consider, and only bought when we went back just now to use the loo as I definitely wanted them. Rompers was a planned spend anyway but I wanted to make sure I wanted those ones!

Nearly bought some toys but they weren't perfect so I left them.

The Caglets can't swim well enough yet for me to watch on the side sadly! Now we are living within walking distance of our town pool I'm considering lessons at some point.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/08/2018 17:38

I think swimming lessons would be a great idea cag dd has been swimming three times this week and it's great knowing I don't need to worry about her. Now they're a bit older your two would probably only need a term or two of lessons to get them up to a safe swimming level.

We've just watched The Greatest Showman again!!

I've got a banging headache, coffee, cocodomol and ibuprofen have not helped 😡

WreckTangled · 04/08/2018 17:39

Girlie you need to sleep it off

Cag swimming lessons would be great for them Smile

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 04/08/2018 17:59

Cag There may be a SN specialist teacher at your pool if you ask. We have that and it really makes life a whole lot easier.

Spendy, £134.05 on a suit, £21 body shop, £27 gap, £17 lunch, £7.60 Cadbury shop, £3 ice cream, £4 parking,

Still haven't rodded the drain and it's stinks.
Need to go to Aldi as dh went Friday but only bought enough for 2 days

Cagliostro · 04/08/2018 18:16

That's what I'm thinking too, I would definitely like to find an SN-friendly teacher if possible as they both have auditory processing issues and in an echoey pool find it incredibly hard to understand it and in a group that can be really rough for them because to an untrained eye they look like they aren't paying attention.

TBH we have not been swimming all that often but we are soooo much nearer now and it'll be a lot easier.

So lucky with the location of this house - due to being on the bus route to the other town it only took 26 minutes. To put in perspective, when we lived at the old house it took 21 minutes just to get to our own town centre!!!

ememem84 · 04/08/2018 18:20

Nsd. I’ve popped a few things I. My amazon basket and on various wish lists for the new house (air pop popcorn machine, kitchenaid mixer, beeswax wraps, Pyrex dishes that sort of thing).

We’ve been at dparents for a bit this afternoon. I felt a bit better after eating and so we went there. Dh wanted to go to the beach but I didn’t fancy it - no toilets nearby...! So we sat in their garden and DS played in his paddling pool.

Home Now. Dinner is in the slow cooker still. I’m not feeling like eating really. So will see how it goes. It’s just so hot.

Wolfcub · 04/08/2018 18:22

Spent all day helping ds with his homework and then cleaning up after him. He is out for dinner with h so I treated myself to pad Thai and spring rolls £8.45

WreckTangled · 04/08/2018 18:23

Cag it might be better for them, and work out cheaper, to have private lessons. Ds' is £25/lesson but for a 2:1 lessons it's £29. Group lessons are £30/month so two private lessons a month would work out cheaper and, imo, be more beneficial even if they're only having two instead of four a month. Once ds has caught up with dd I'm going to be doing private lessons for them both.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 04/08/2018 18:34

Cag The way I found our teacher was to phone the swimming teaching co-ordinator at the pool and ask about the SN teacher. Once we found out who that was, everything was much easier. We have 1-2-1 lesson with me in the water. I'm only allowed in because it's 1-2-1. They don't allow it with group lessons. In your case it could probably be 1-2-3. Smile That looks funny written like that.

That sounds good wreck thanks. I'll look into it after summer hols.

It's funny as in some ways they can totally keep up with neurotypical kids. DD in particular always shocks people with her ASD diagnosis. But in other situations they struggle so much, and I think DD in particular is at a disadvantage because she, IYSWIM, "looks normal" and so the expectation is far too high. So people think she's stupid or messing about but she really isn't :(

A local mum is trying to arrange a home ed football thing which would end up mostly as a SN group, I am so excited about this as it was something DS just couldn't access at all at school, other kids kept teasing him as he wasn't good enough. It's more that he can't do the communication aspect of team sports, even if his skills are decent. His newest stim is endless dribbling so if we could put it to good use and boost his confidence I'll be very happy!

Cagliostro · 04/08/2018 18:38

Thanks sunny how much is it may I ask? Would be good to have an idea of different prices so I can see what's average!

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 04/08/2018 18:50

Cag It's £20 per lesson, which I think is 30 minutes.

I know what you mean about looking normal. The struggle of having to fake the skills that aren't innately there is very hard work. I have that.

NSD.

allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/40263/syrian-flatbread.aspx Made this in the breadmaker with half a tsp of onion seeds. It says makes 8 but I reckon you could get 10 easy. I've frozen the rest of the dough.

Loveabaconsandwich · 04/08/2018 20:06

Snap girlie, we've just finished watching the Greatest Showman. My first watch of it.

DP brought lots of boxes down from the loft and we sorted them sat in the garden today. We have soooo many dvds. I dread to think how much they all cost, and DP has numerous ones still in their wrappers which are probably now on prime/Netflix. Urgh.

Flappyjack · 04/08/2018 20:07

Lovely afternoon out with a friend. We shopped, stopped off at a pub for a quick drink, then had gammon and chips at a Beefeater. The bay was packed with glam people and the yacht club had some kind of band playing. It was lush.

£16 m&s knickers
£14.70 food for two.

Friend drove, paid parking and drinks. At long last I tried palma violet gin. T'was nice and all is right with the world this evening.

Loveabaconsandwich · 04/08/2018 20:08

NSD though

ememem84 · 04/08/2018 20:22

dinner done. Slow cooker Chinese sesame chicken and egg fried rice (not slow cooker rice...). Yum. Ds had the same. I’ve had to hoover the carpet. Must must remember to put a cloth or something down on the floor.

Catface hung around under his chair and hoovered up chicken bits he dropped. Those two are a good team!

Dh is watching Jason Bourne. He’s half way through. I have no idea what’s going on.

I’m having a small glass of wine and then am heading to bed.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/08/2018 20:25

Jason Bourne is on here. Meh

WreckTangled · 04/08/2018 20:25

We had frittata for dinner with a few tomatoes. Too hot to eat.

We've been watching Harry Potter all day, apart from our trip to the park. Trying to persuade dd to go to bed now but this is her favourite film of the series (deathly hallows pt 1).

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 04/08/2018 20:34

It's been lovely and cool here today. I just did a grown up colouring book with ds and it turns out that he is great at colouring. I had no idea.

NSD! Yay!

Will you send them to music magpie love?

ememem84 · 04/08/2018 20:57

I’ve just gone into music magpie to get a price for dh’s phone. £64.50. Which isn’t bad considering it’s an iPhone 5s.

Dsis has a new phone. So I’m having her old one and dh mine. Hers is pink. Otherwise he’d have hers.

I gave her £100 for her old one. And have offered to sell some of her stuff on eBay for her. She can’t be bothered setting up as a seller so I’ll do it and giver her the money.

She’s also going to help me move out. And declutter. And take stuff we leave out to the charity shop while she’s on summer holidays. Yay.

I’m making lists. Things to take to dparents when we move in. Things to dump. Things to go to storage.

We’re taking all of ds’ stuff. All of catfaces stuff and minimal our stuff. Clothes toiletries and pillows.

Wolfcub · 04/08/2018 21:00

I love Jason Bourne. Not watching though 999 what’s your emergency here. JuSt picked ds up from h and have just sent him off to bed. I have poured a very much needed glass of wine

Wolfcub · 04/08/2018 21:06

Does anyone know of a good online or app based photo printing service where I can create a composite photo so for example an a4 size picture with an 8 by 10 surrounded by smaller photos
