Our front garden is like a litter tray. And we don’t have cats. Lots of neighbours do, one in particular has several. And it drives me crazy. They own the cats yet the cats sh!t in our garden and honestly it stinks, especially in this weather. Sorry for the rant but it’s horrible and stops my kids from playing on the front lawn.

Good news tho, skools out! I have done the annual ceremonial throwing away of the white (now grey and shabby) polo shirts and school shoes.

More good news, it’s raining, and it’s gone soooo lovely and cool here! Got all the windows and the back door open, aaah, bliss.

Flappy lol at waiting till you’re in your jim jams before declaring it a NSD. That wouldn’t work for me, DS1 has a friend sleeping over tonight and they’ve just raided my purse to head out to the shop for sweets! So even tho I’m not spending they’re doing it for me! I don’t mind, end of term, they’ve worked hard and touch wood so far have given me no trouble. They deserve it.

WreckTangled · 20/07/2018 19:35

We haven't had any rain here

SunnyLikeThursday · 20/07/2018 19:37

Oh my! We're forecast rain! I just checked. Oh happy day. Smile Where is it though?

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/07/2018 19:47

Thats what Im trying to avoid Girlie
Really dont want to fall out with my neighbours.
Rumblings here-please let it rain !

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/07/2018 19:48

Sorry Curls

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/07/2018 20:04

We've got a bit of rain! My garden is fizzing with happiness 😊

LonelyOversharer · 20/07/2018 20:28

Not a nsd. £54 yes, £54 at the vets on wormers x3 and 1 uber tick thing for my spaniel. My ferret is booked in for his vasectomy next wednesday, should be about £100. It is so lovely to not have to put this sort of spend on credit. £14 in the co-op, their £5 deal plus some kiev and crisps.

My cat poos in my front garden, or the bathroom floor. Sometimes by the front door Hmm He is 17.5 so I let him off, sigh and use dettol.

We had the first courgettes at tea. Little but yummy. School is out here too. The dc are beyond ready for some down time.

unescorted I do hope you get that job. I have contacted that company you suggested, was very honest, now I need to speak to them on the phone. I'm stalling doing this.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/07/2018 21:03

If anyone of you haven't tried the southern fried fish burgers in Aldi yet you've got to they're amazing!

ememem84 · 20/07/2018 21:43

Home from the pub. Ds was a proper trooper. He stayed awake until we got home about half hour ago and has now crashed out. He was so excited to go to bed!!!

He spent his dinner stealing chippies from my plate, watching as the waiting staff brought food to everyone (not just us....everyone else too!) we made him a hat from a nap my sister had in her bag. He has a new toy pineapple. He went for a walk with my sister around the pub and made friends with the barman and he tried a whitebait (which he nicked off of ddad...) he didn’t like it much.

I’m in bed now with catface. I have the curtains open and lights off. We are moongazing. Window is open a bit and there is a lovely cool breeze.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/07/2018 21:53

Glad to get to the end of term as well, dd was sad tonight as apparently there were loads of accolades being handed out and she didn't get any 😢 she always seems to fly under the radar for these sort of things. Wish she found school a bit easier bless her.

Cagliostro · 20/07/2018 22:14

Phew. Spent the day building Ikea furniture and unpacking various things. The final push is tomorrow.

I ache soooo much! I am very happy though. We all just kept smiling excitedly all day.

ONE MORE SLEEP!

CremeEggThief · 20/07/2018 23:01

Very best of luck with Moving Day, Cag. Hope it all goes as smoothly as possible!

Great news about the mortgage, Mammy.

Spends-
Yesterday: £4.40 salad, coleslaw and chocolate, and £9 new toaster, all from Asda.
Today: £45.04 online weekly shop from Sainsburys and £6 yoga.

AdoraBell · 20/07/2018 23:15

£2.50 on a coffee.

We’ve had rain, for about 90 seconds Hmm

Good luck for the move Cag

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/07/2018 06:44

Good luck with the move cag. So so excited for you, and your family friend who offered to buy you some furniture sounds so lovely.

We're taking a bunch of seven year olds to the cinema today. Wish us luck! Frugally made them all a snack box for the cinema rather than buying cinema food

WreckTangled · 21/07/2018 06:48

Good luck cag!

And you too love Grin

I'm working in the shop today. Hopefully it's not as quiet as yesterday. Need to get fuel and the food shopping is coming this morning. Dh decided he's working too so poor mil has to put it away for us. I had best clean the fridge quickly!

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/07/2018 06:59

Happy moving day cag.
Good luck love.

Food shopping today, no plan as per.
IKEA as have as £10 off £70 spend. Might not spend it but will look in. Decathlon and Smith's toys too. Dh is drinking in Durham do will drop him off and carry on North.

Wolfcub · 21/07/2018 07:15

Morning all. Happy moving day Cag. I’ve lost track of the thread a bit but will try and catch up.

Cagliostro · 21/07/2018 07:29

Thanks. Can’t quite believe it’s finally here!

SIL should be here in an hour or so. Got a few more things to bung in bags/boxes.

Knackered already TBH, did so much yesterday! And we have to build DD1’s bed tonight as well. The plan is to move the furniture/boxes etc, then do a big tip run, then build the bed, then get dinner at the pub down the road :o

ememem84 · 21/07/2018 08:02

Happy moving day cag

Today is riding £30. Petrol £40 maybe depending on where I get it from.

Post office to pick stuff up and boots to pick up nappies.

Bornlazy · 21/07/2018 08:31

Good Luck today Cag. Wishing you lots of happiness in your new home. Forgot to say bet yet wanted to go “Doh” when DS stood on the rake 😜

We’ve had lots of rain, but last night it was really muggy, was surprised we didn’t have thunder..

My cats come in to do the toilet. They actually come running in as if they are bursting and run straight to the litter tray.

ememem84 · 21/07/2018 08:52

Checked my top cashback account just now. £73 I had no idea was there...£56 is from booking.com I haven’t used them for ages so it must be something that took forever to come through. Have requested a pay out and this is being chucked right at my credit card.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/07/2018 09:06

Good luck cag thinking of you! I remember moving day as being stressful but exciting in equal measures 😅 the first night in was weird as stuff everywhere, no where to sit, mattresses on the floor and no curtains! It felt impossible to get it all sorted but it happens bit by bit.

I felt weirdly grumpy Ystd, hopefully a better day today!!

Dd has riding this morning, going to pop to a garden discount place for plant feed and a few other bits, then out tonight at a outdoor band and bbq type thing. Hopefully not too spendy, without wanting to tempt fate July has been my best month of the year so far spends wise!!

ememem84 · 21/07/2018 09:21

I’m on a new month now. So only necessary spends. From here on in. I count my months pay day to payday.

So. This month I have:

  • a bikini and eyebrow wax next week (necessity...absolute necessity!)
  • riding - luxury yes but necessary for my mental health.
  • nails - again I could go without. But it’s another luxury for me.

Joint account wise out of the ordinary things are:

  • paying for fire doors and smoke detectors £1300.
  • vets on Monday for catface. Jabs and nails clipped.

I’m estimating that come October we may have moved into the new house. So will be paying £156 less a month (storage fees).

I think August’s mortgage payment may be our last on this place (lawyer thinks we’ll be out of here mid August...). Then we can stay with dparents for a couple of months and save save save. Dm’s Already said she won’t take any money from us. Even though we offered to contribute to bills etc.

I’ve emptied my handbag. Found £7.37 in change lurking at the bottom. A boots gift card £25 which I must have bought for someone...but can’t remember who. Some sachets of moisturiser. Some coop stamps. And a voucher with £7.02 left on it from the surf shop. I bought this for ex bil for his birthday last year. When he left dsis he left it behind. She didn’t want it so gave it back to me. I used it to buy socks.

LonelyOversharer · 21/07/2018 09:33

Very best of moving day vibes cag so glad the day is here. It's been such a long road for you to get to here.

It's going to be tough on your body, sit down every chance you get, but very soon it will all be done, and you can recover in your new home! So excited for you.

Quiet day today, gardening this morning, then I'm going to Dunelm later for pillows (maybe bedding) and storage boxes, for my push to move from the shipping container (1/3 full now, so a waste of money) to the loft. Will pick up dd2 en route.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2018 09:45

Lonely Dettols toxic to cats because its a phenol based disinfectant, anything that makes water cloudy when first mixed in is phenol based. Those deodorising sprays from amazon etc are meant to work better. Bleach is the worst, it attracts cats.

We have a litter tray but I use wilko litter and it's so good at keeping the smell in. Much better than anything I've used before.

Cats poo at the boundary's of their territory's. The best thing to do is to either fill the ground with so many plants they have no room to dig or put sharp stones on the soil. Paw pads don't like sharp stuff, they do like bark chippings and soft soil.

Or get a cat to defend the garden.
