That’s interesting about white showing LESS muck, I was worried it would be the opposite. I had been thinking white anyway as the black might make the room look darker and therefore smaller

I like EWFL for a bit of easy viewing but they do state the obvious quite a bit!
We're out in the garden before it gets too hot. Not sure what else we'll do today but it should be an NSD.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/07/2018 10:37

I think white Cag. Won’t suck the light. Also black furniture makes me think of the late 80s.

Sunny that must be such a relief to get an answer. And great that you feel, on balance, positive about it. You have had a successful career as a scientist (and still dabble successfully!), you have a great partner and a lovely son. Hopefully a diagnosis will help you find the right strategies for the parts of life that are still a bit challenging and your quality of life will only improve. Onwards and upwards, and money well spent!

Have only skimmed, I’ll read back properly later. Was out last night at our monthly knit night. £4.65 for a jolly refreshing G&T.

I’ve just taken DD for her 12m jabs and she was veeeeeery upset. She’s conked out in my arms so I’m hoping for a long nap. I am about to turn out all the stored boxes of my clothing and see what i can wear now and what is worth keeping. I need to be really ruthless. But I know I won’t be Hmm

Cagliostro · 03/07/2018 10:42

Thanks all. I am glad you all said the same thing. Nobody is allowed to say black kallax now. 😂

Thanks Christmas yes I'm hoping it will help. I'm still bashing away at the clarinet here. The assessor said that hyperventilation is really normal in ASD people an that she thought a woodwind instrument was a good idea. Costs nothing to play it fortunately.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/07/2018 12:24

I think a diagnosis can only be a good thing sunny and I hope they can help you with the things you still struggle with.

I had my ears syringed this morning! ! Very weird but I quite liked it 😶 and great to be able you hear again. Mind you I'm still full of cold so still quite blocked up 😷

Got petrol £36.
£48 morrisons, have bulk bought washing powder, softener, washing up liquid as well as toiletries and a few food bits on offer. Have enough of all these things to last ages now.

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/07/2018 12:40

I like having my ears syringed too Girlie. Glad that went well.

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/07/2018 12:41

I've just had to dig out smartish work clothes to wear to a visit to the place where I applied for the job this afternoon. Just dusted off my heels too. I'm guessing this is going to be a kind of informal chit chat, where they can maybe ask questions that you can't get away with in interview. Anyway, I am properly nervous, wish me luck!

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/07/2018 13:18

Good luck love.

I am doing nothing, which is very nice.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2018 14:17

Good luck love!

We have a moving date. 21st. DSS has injured himself so may not be able to drive (if he can though we will still move boxes etc as we pack in the meantime, and other friends may help with that anyway) but SILs are hiring a huge van and they have lifting equipment etc.

Less than 3 weeks! Eeeek!

OP posts:
Loveabaconsandwich · 03/07/2018 14:44

I have no idea what to make of my visit. All I know is that if I get the interview, the tests and questions will be tough 😱

But I went. And I talked. So that helps Grin

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/07/2018 14:44

Great you have a date to work to cag. So excited for you!

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/07/2018 15:08

Brilliant cag. Fantastic!

Well done to you too Love. That was quite a step. SmileBrew

I'm sitting here having a nice rest and basking the weirdness of having been called "normal" yesterday. That's never happened to me before. She meant normal for an ASD person, and I'm okay with that. It's a definite step up.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2018 15:51

Piano movers booked! £108. Going on 13th so that means we gain space here (since we are actually moving so late in the month, we will have to do a lot of the deep cleaning etc here before we do the main move, so the less furniture here the better)

Van hire for the main move will be £84 plus petrol which isn’t too bad.

SnugglySnerd · 03/07/2018 16:23

Brilliant Cag!

Well done Love also.

Lovely day today. Garden, stroll to park. Swings. Dts had a long nap. NSD.

Wolfcub · 03/07/2018 17:16

Well done Love fingers crossed for fingers crossed for the next stage
Cag that’s very exciting having a date and it will come round really quickly.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2018 17:27

£5 lidl. 24 eggs, pittas, burger buns and finger rolls.

Waitrose fucked up my substitutions so I’ll get £5 refunded to housekeeping 🤔 I just need more tomatoes and a coconut and more ham because if I order 350g a 120g pack won’t stretch far.

Free skittles on topcashback, the ones in a white bag.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/07/2018 18:00

Exciting cag it might be worth making a list of all the people to call re change of address, it took me a whole morning to ring everyone! ! Also make sure you take meter readings on your last day as gas and electric companies can be a pain.

My plan for this month is to try and be really good so I can hopefully save money for the summer hols. Will also need to budget for dds holiday club which is likely to be £150....

CremeEggThief · 03/07/2018 18:28

That's great that you have a moving date, Cag. I had 20 days between leaving my last house and this one, so about the same time as you have now. Good luck!

Fingers crossed for you, Love.Smile

NSD.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2018 19:44

Already got a page for that in the moving notebook girlie #smug :o

(I'm far better at list writing than I am at actually getting practical stuff done)

Tap has now finished till Sept and ballet and trampolining finish this week too. Relieved. Got so so so much to do. In all honesty the most important thing is to keep decluttering but we are at the stage of having loads of Random crap we don't know what to do with

OP posts:
CurlsandCurves · 03/07/2018 20:14

Well done on the interview @love, hope it takes you to the next stage.

@cag, a moving date, yay! Hope it’s not too crazy for you.

Weekly shop for me at Aldi and Morrison’s. Get all my main stuff from A and then whatever I can’t get there at M. They’re across the car park from each other so doesn’t take any longer than doing one shop. Kept within my weekly budget. But I could have done better. Then again, the deodorant we all use was on offer so stocked up on a few cans of that. And DS2 loves rice Krispy squares but I will not pay full price for them. They were on offer so again grabbed a few packets. Looking at what I’ve got and what I bought today I’m confident I can do even better next week.

DS1 appears to have grown overnight and lots of his tshirts don’t fit. So part of next weeks budget will be on some new ones. Just a couple more to tide him over then it's his birthday in a few weeks so guess what I’ll be asking everyone to get him! Nike men’s tshirts are 2 for £22 at Sports Direct so not too painful. He’s just about to turn 13 and in a medium men’s size already. Size 10 feet too!

ememem84 · 03/07/2018 20:29

Phew. Day done.

Busy busy at work. Then gym. I’ve been beasted.

Dh made a tart for dinner. Then he went off to acupuncture.

Ds and I had a bottle then did some crawling practice. He does little press ups, then rocks a bit then falls backwards. Not crawling yet.

Have done washing. Washing up and am now listening to my book. Dh is watching football.

ememem84 · 03/07/2018 20:30

cag I’m so happy you’ve got a moving date.

I’ve never had my ears syringed.

I’m listening to Elinor oliphant is completely fine. I love her. But also want to laugh at her. But pity her.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2018 20:34

Home in time for the second half. Woop.

Sunny my assessor also said that! I quote "for a person with autism, you're completely normal" :o

I need to add up what I spent on card today and also make sure I am sensible on Tesco to ensure I have enough for the enormous ikea order. I do have money in the ISA but would be amazing not to break into that yet.

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2018 20:39

Cag is IKEA on any of the cash back sites? Kidstart, top cash or quidco
