NSD. Deliberately left my cards/cash at home today. Been spending far too much due to stress. Finally got the paperwork for DDs dormant bank accounts done in branch. They should have their money by the end of June.

DH bought coffees and lunch (see above)

DDs are halfway through GCSEs. Tomorrow I need to top up the chocolate supplies.

LonelyOversharer · 31/05/2018 19:12

sunny they're the little glass window thingies. Lots of us do them for a local company. Its basically painting by numbers with paint that dries like nail varnish.

Tea was baked spuds with tuna mayo and salad. It's getting very close here and feels a touch thundery.

adora I need to do dd1's too. She has a fair bit in there she doesn't even know about (mostly ex's parents pre split. He had a thing about £50 notes).

SnugglySnerd · 31/05/2018 19:16

Thanks Fluffy I'll have a look. Always handy to have a meal in the freezer!

Yes you are right Sunny. What an amazing memory you have! Life certainly has changed. It's still all good but definitely not quiet anymore!

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/05/2018 19:37

Hang in there Snuggly. You're going to have a such a family to be proud of when you get through this hard-work part. Smile

Lonely Good to know. I'll try to get there tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/05/2018 19:42

For longevity I would say the heels as they are cheaper and make you feel better. For your back, the flats.

I've always wondered about farm food, I might give it a try instead of Iceland. Judy got a leaflet here as it's in town.

Advances are usually 70% of the amount owed to make room for property calculated deduction next time. Maybe they are just being cautious?

Went to national trust today. Defo take the DC there as there will always be other parents and friendly staff to help.

Parked a bit further out and walked for 10 minutes as membership expired so world have to pay for parking. £15 on ice-cream for the group.
It's brimham rocks so it's open moor. I haven't behaved nefariously. Didn't put enough any suncream on so I'm like a beacon. Thankfully DC not burned. It looked like rain when we set off. FFS.
Lots of and this is why I nag you about suncream to the DC in case they inherit my skin.

I messaged need too funnily enough while I was there as she used to go loads. Depends if she boots the laptop up though.

£48 yesterday on tan sandels from Clarks for my birthday, £42 Amazon on dh birthday, I want chinos, the shorts linked to above when my size comes back in and some t shirts.

MeadowHay · 31/05/2018 19:48

Today has been nice after the stress of yesterday, and frugal.

So by sheer good luck DH's bursary of like a grand and a half entered his bank account late last night so that meant we could pay the rent to the Lettings Agents. Still no further response from TSB, I need to contact CEO but I'm tired and find it so stressful I just don't want to be dealing with it gah.

Spent the day at my parents although DF is away with work but it DGM is here at the moment staying there, and my DAunt and DUncle and 15-yr old cousin were there for the day so that was nice as haven't seen my aunt, uncle and cousin since my graduation in July! We got some baby bits from them and a big box of like 86 nappies. And DGM has given us £200 for baby things Shock. Also Seacow your parcel has arrived but we forgot about it as we came in a different entrance not by the reception where they have it and you can only collect parcels 5-7pm so we will get it tomorrow evening, thank you! And today was an NSD as my DB gave me a lift to theirs and back so didn't even need to pay for travel. He also bought a lovely outfit gift set thing for the baby. Eek! Exciting.

Wolfcub · 31/05/2018 19:51

I love Brimham rocks. I too burn in heavy cloud, ds fortunately has his father’s skin and not mine! Interesting about the 70% that would be a few £100 more than I receive so perhaps they have taken the allowance reclaim into account. I shall sit on it and guard it carefully just in case.

Lonely they sound like pretty little things in the fift shop, I love things like that.
Adora Tesco have reductions on the big flavoured dairy milk bars if you need gcse chocs. Hope your dds are coping ok

SnugglySnerd · 31/05/2018 20:03

Thanks Sunny.

I loved Brimham Rocks when I went as a child. It's definitely somewhere I want to take my own children. That's a good point about NT places having lots of helpful people. We often go to the cafe as we think there are so many parents with young children that they are probably a bit more forgiving of us with our giant pushchair etc

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/05/2018 20:16

There will be activities too snug for dd. We did a free ranger activity. Joined in about halfway and rolled down a hill and made clay tree nymphs.

Unescorted · 31/05/2018 20:20

Wait for meeeeeeee!

For all those people kindly asking about the gas.... Yes we are reconnected. Late on Monday. The garden has been ha!f filled but the patio is still nearly stacked.

Wolf have you got birthday plans yet?

Sea flats would be my choice but I have never got on with heels unless they are wedge heeled boots. Actually bare tooters would be my first choice. Shoes are the work of the devil.... Up there with bras.

Meadow that was a stroke of luck. Do want help drafting a letter to the CEO of TSB.... You have some amazing strident wordsmiths on this thread.

Mammy have I missed you buying a home?

Cag wreck life and adora waves... We seem to keep missing each other.

Lonely my peas and beans are doing really well. The caugettes not so well. I will have another go because I was a bit early and there was a soil disturbance which would suggest a mouse may have visited. Can you pm me address so I can return the favour. I want to see if DIY plug packaging works and I have some extra seeds that need a home. Thanks for inspiring me to get out in the garden.

Em I am not sure how your mil is still alive. Your restraint is admirable.

Smurfy I am pleased that you are getting somewhere with your care package.

Wolfcub · 31/05/2018 20:24

Unescorted no plans yet except I have to dial into work for half an hour in the afternoon as the scs I need to talk to has no other time during the week. I have challenged my boss to get the scs to sing happy birthday to me!

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/05/2018 20:29

Hey unescorted

Unescorted · 31/05/2018 20:33

Can I ask advice of those of you with experience of Autism. Tell me to bugger off if want. We have had a new lad start at work who I think has Autism in some form. My question is what can we do to make his life in the office easier? He has rubbed most people up the wrong way not through underhand slyness but because he is unable to read the micro changes and social cues (should that be ques.. I can't decide,). I feel that if we can understand him better and then usual people in the office can protect him from visitors from other offices before he gets a reputation for being difficult. Sorry if this offends I am trying to articulate something I am totally clueless about.

Unescorted · 31/05/2018 20:37

wolf I would pay good money for that. We once had a scheme approved with the condition that the contract manager recited the Owl and the Pussycat at the Christmas lunch.

hey life my boys tell me the weather is glorious in your part of the world.

CremeEggThief · 31/05/2018 21:13

Just £1.50 spends today (milk and M&Ms).

ememem84 · 31/05/2018 21:13

Dh almost redeemed himself. Booked dinner at Michelin star restaurant for Saturday evening. Yum. Tasting menu with wine. 7 courses with matched wine. Entirely Unfrugal and something I’ve wanted to do for ages.

However. There is a catch. Mil will be looking after ds and staying over. I can’t do it. Not only can we probably not afford to spend almost £300 on dinner (I said unfrugal.....) I don’t want mil looking after ds all night and being there all day on Sunday.

Wolfcub · 31/05/2018 21:15

Will you lose any money if you cancel Em? Can your parents have ds instead?

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/05/2018 21:18

Your mouth ulcers are too bad though aren’t they??

If I use chlorhex mouthwash my mouth feels numb and I can’t taste stuff Wink

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/05/2018 21:25

It is glorious here unescorted. DS did get burned today fuck sake as I got caught out.

Tough one em. Not sure tbh.

ememem84 · 31/05/2018 21:40

If we cancel on Saturday there’s a cancellation charge. If we cancel tomorrow then nope.

My mouth does hurt. Fact. But for a delicious Michelin started amazing dinner I’d put up with it.

But....

I think I’m going to cancel.

I’ve just said to dh I don’t need mil to stay over. I’ve said I’m happy to drive home (obviously no booze for me). And will drop mil home after. That’s the compromise.

Dh says mil was looking forward to staying here because she’s outstayed her welcome at her friends. That’s not my issue.

Dh says I’m silly for wanting to drive home from the restaurant. It’ll ruin the experience. Apparently. Which to be fair it may.

I could ask dparents to have ds. But that’ll undermine things and mil still wants to stay over.

ememem84 · 31/05/2018 21:40

I may just book into a hotel.

AuditAngel · 31/05/2018 21:42

Cag I'm going to reply before I forget. Is it the seamless ones she likes? I just bought DD1 a beige body suit to wear under costumes. It is leotard shape, very soft. I could check the brand. It wasn't cheap, but I think that is partly why it is so soft. It is very slightly glossy, but not Lycra like a leotard.

Laska5772 · 31/05/2018 21:44

Can you book her a taxi home? or what about your sister em?.You dont have to tell MIL

OP posts:
Laska5772 · 31/05/2018 21:47

if shes outstayed her welcome elsewhere .you know what will happen next if she stays at yours even once..

Foot down hard ,Now, em if you dont draw a line in the sand she will be expecting to stay with you before you know it .

Spends £20 in Tesco, but that included £13.50 on 9 halogen spotlight bulbs. Rest was lunch for today and tomorrow.

Wreck thanks for asking how I am, hard to answer. Stupidly busy at work, enjoying my new boss. At home things are pottering along, but it all seems too much like hard work. Hard to get motivated to do stuff.

I'm waiting for a referral to Rheumatology to check into all the aches and pains I gave that are getting worse.
