Congratulations Aunty Mammy.

Hope you are OK Quite.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/04/2018 08:51

Congratulations auntie mammy.
A log cabin extension sounds fab.
Moving has always been part of the long term plan. It's where it's now or in a couple of years. There are some nice houses around at the minute.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/04/2018 08:52

Less greetings card to buy quite. Tis frugal.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/04/2018 08:52

YY the Sainsbury's clothes are frumpy this season imo. Just nothing nice at all. For me anyway.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/04/2018 08:53

Less Christmas presents to buy too, and birthday frugal silver lining

Wolfcub · 13/04/2018 09:01

Congratulations auntie Mammy

Quite hope you are ok, it sounds like a difficult situation hope your quiet day today gives you a bit of relief from what must have been a tough week Flowers

QuiteCleanBandit · 13/04/2018 09:06

Grin @fluffy and life

QuiteCleanBandit · 13/04/2018 09:08

Thanks Wolf
Im sorry you are having a terrible time xx

mammymammyIRL · 13/04/2018 09:09

Thanks ladies

wreck have you ingredients to make something to take? fluffy's vegan sponge perhaps? Meringues are pretty easy.

Could you say you can't afford it and if she insists then you get lunch next time?

life coolio I missed nothing so

quite bet you feel way less stressed

Christmas will stress me out so much less this year as I'll be buying for so many less people that before, majority of my list were connected to H, his issue from now on. The ones I will stay close to will get token gifts, thinking small christmas theme cross stitch pictures, seems that cross stitch is going to be my healer and therapy more than running at the moment as my energy levels are so low.

Aaah mammy that sounds like a great idea .
Its lovely to do something quiet and uninterrupted ,the focus takes your brain to a place of calm.
Knitting and reading for me and walking does the same.

LonelyOversharer · 13/04/2018 09:28

quite Flowers it's a hard decision to make to walk away, but you have to look after you and yours first.

Yes to crafty things being healing. I think it's being busy with your hands, and keeping a bit of brain occupied. I did a lot of tiny patchwork after leaving ex and moving here, before realising I could sell my knitting. Kind of mindless but productive.

When is the weather meant to warm up? Another day where we seem to be in a drizzly cloud. I need to garden!

WreckTangled · 13/04/2018 09:30

Lonely it's going to be warm next week when we're all back to work/school. Typical.

Mammy she's said she'll come here this afternoon when her cars fixed. Saves me fuel too.

SnugglySnerd · 13/04/2018 09:33

Yes the Sainsbury's clothes are hideous at the moment. Annoyingly ds needs bigger trousers but they only have lightweight summer ones and it's freezing so he's being squeezed into the existing ones for now!

Allegedly it's going to warm up next week. Just in time to go back to work! I'll believe it when I see it.

Wolfcub · 13/04/2018 09:44

Snuggly try m&co if you have one. I got ds about £120 worth of decent trousers for £40 the other week

ChristmasSeacow · 13/04/2018 09:45

I really like Sainsbury’s trousers for DS but a lot of the nice ones only go up to age 6. Not sure where we go from next year!

Bandit Flowers. Knitting really helps me. Craft is very meditative.

Bloody weather Angry

ememem84 · 13/04/2018 10:19

I am in the coffee shop. Enjoying a flat white and a Danish. On. My. Own. Ds is in nursery until 11. Coffee place is next to nursery. So I haven’t strayed far. But it is so nice just being here solo. £4.50 for coffee and cake.

Have completed ds’ mountain of nursery paperwork since I’ve been here and have replied to a few emails re moving/christening etc.

I am feeling very brave. I go for coffee alone.

quite sometimes stepping away is the best thing.

mammy yay! Aunties are the best!! Bet you can’t wait for squishy baby snuggles!

Wolfcub · 13/04/2018 10:26

Em coffee alone that’s a real luxury. You are right though it can be an odd feeling. I had to get used to it working alone overseas for a while, now I just take a book or mn and enjoy the me time!

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/04/2018 11:16

I'm on a minor self-improvement mission and I've blown some of my frugally hoarded cash on one of these pelvic floor restoration machines:

www.restorethefloor.com/buy-now

I figure it will do me more good than retail therapy, and I might then be able to run again, which will also help ds. It arrived this morning and the device is now charging.

Yay!

Also the dentist says I need to have a root canal. Boo!

Feeling slightly middle aged, but optimistic.

ChristmasSeacow · 13/04/2018 11:52

Blimey Sunny, that’s expensive! I hope it works if it does I’ll get one myself

SnugglySnerd · 13/04/2018 12:11

Thanks Wolf. I'm going into town tomorrow so will have a look.

The dcs just demolished 6 slices of eggy bread, a whole punnet of blueberries and a yoghurt each. Last night they each had 3 helpings of pasta. What's it going to be like when they are teenagers???

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/04/2018 12:42

em coffee alone is a strange feeling when you are used to having a little person to chat to. Mine have always gone to coffee shops, dd1 never used to offer pretend tea with her teaset it was always a decaf soya latte 😂

sunny that's expensive but we'll worth the expense if it works.

seacow it's hard when you find clothes that you like, dd1 is very particular with materials and the feel of clothes. For school trousers I've had to buy from h&m as they were the only ones that she could wear low down on her hips and were fitted leggings material. She now wants shorts and I can't find any suitable for school anywhere 😣 was easier in the past as she wore summer dresses but has now deemed them too girly.

Today is unexpectedly frugal... was washing dds hair pre hair cut and found headlice so spent the last hour and half combing their hair making sure it was clear and had to rearrange the hair cut. Changed all the bedding, luckily it's windy and sun is peering out so can hang outside. But dd1 is unimpressed as she only likes her pusheen bedding so will have to tumble dry if not quite dry!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/04/2018 12:45

snuggly my dds seem to have bottomless pits for stomachs at the moment! After dinner the other day dd1 asked if she could have toast! She's obsessed with toast, I think as long as I have several loaves of bread in a week the teenage years should be fine 😂

SnugglySnerd · 13/04/2018 12:51

Mine like toast too. Currently they are all a bit obsessed with eggs. We are getting through about 12 a week. Pre-dcs half a dozen would have lasted us 3 weeks!

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/04/2018 13:07

Nocuts and Christmas, thanks, yes the machine is meant to be the bees knees for sorting out the pelvic floor. I have read lots of reviews and pretty much everyone says it just does the job and no fuss.

Ordinarily I just ignore the fact that my pelvic floor is knackered, but this Ehler-Danlos condition that ds and I are being checked for affects the pelvic floor in a really unfortunate way, so I've decided to take action on it, with or without a diagnosis.

I feel determined just now, but may sound less convinced one I have actually tried electrocuting my rear end with this machine
