I saw Michael McIntyre at our local theatre just before he was famous, he was brilliant and my friend and I were crying with laughter. Would love to see him again, have a look on YouTube Laska i reckon you would like him.

Lonely it is a worry, she is young for her age and I guess it has just been too much of a leap to go from being left for only 20 mins or so (if I nipped to the shops or similar) to being left for just over an hour after school. Such a tricky age Sad the little dog is coming on Sunday for a weeks trial so fingers crossed it goes well, i agree coming home to a little dog would def help. Love the bedding, can't wait for them to finish building our Aldi, it will be 5 mins from our house!!

Missed EWFL, will watch on iplayer.

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 18/10/2017 22:20

£250 new washing machine (including delivery/connection/collecting old one) YAY. Arriving Saturday. Leaks were getting even worse. Glad we still had time to get it here before baby! :)

My arm still hurts from my flu jab though, it was Monday morning Hmm but is still really achy and itchy and bumpy. Humph. If that's the worst side effect though I'm quite happy really, I was worried it'd knock me for six. :)

ChristmasSeacow · 18/10/2017 22:56

You're on fire Cag! Our new dishwasher is coming on Friday, I am a little bit too excited...

ememem84 · 19/10/2017 04:51

christmas nope it’ll still be almost peed I’m religiously doing PF exercises. Grin

So far so good re sleep. I slept from 9-2 woke up as I thought ds was stirring. He wasn’t. So went back to sleep. Woke again at 420. He’s having a feed now and is very sleepy. So hopefully fingers crossed I’ll be able to go back to sleep!!

Am taking dm up on her offer to pop in tomorrow. She wants to clean and do my ironing. She can’t eat tomorrow/today actually as she’s having a hospital procedure on Friday so has to take the “cleansing” drink... we may go to the garden centre and look at the Christmas things...!

thewaitresses · 19/10/2017 06:18

Love the bedding! I popped I to Aldi yesterday too and longingly stroked the brushed cotton cosiness but just about managed to resist (but now I want it even more!!)

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/10/2017 06:35

Will pop to Aldi for bedding unless it's online.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2017 06:45

Busy couple of days at work. I love my job, but there are just never enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to do. Not sure exactly how much spending, but not much.
Spendy day today. PT session first thing, already paid for. Hair appointment at 9, then going to Dunelm and a big crafty shop with mum and then a local coastal town for a walk & lunch.
Big car repair bill earlier in the week, £500, ouch! The car budget for the year to end of March had already been spent (bigger than expected MOT bill) so we are going to have to try to cut back elsewhere to try to cover it. One of our nurses at work is off sick for a while so there may be some extra hours available which would help out.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/10/2017 07:31

Ooo excellent. I have lots of points to spend

WreckTangled · 19/10/2017 07:38

The dc have a bake sale today. Will be a lsd though £1-2.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2017 07:43

The taste the difference cava is nice. I think I'd rather have a good cava than a cheap nv champagne.

I think next year I'm going to save all nectar points bar the occasional pair of jeggings/joggers for Dh (surprise hit there) & use it all at Xmas. I have 6 pairs of jeggings now thanks to nectar so I can't need many more pairs apart from the winter red ones which are totally 100% different from the summer bright red ones I use for the nautical look

The pumpkin offer got better, Green Jinn app is offering 60p back on a 18-24cm carving pumpkin. £2 back on Topcashback.

60p pumpkin profit Grin & I get to use the 200 point till spit voucher I got yesterday.

Those till spit vouchers aren't account specific in my experience so if you find one try it at the till.

I love the bedding too but we are so much warmer now we've swapped bedrooms. I'm kicking the duvet off at night.

SnugglySnerd · 19/10/2017 09:03

Aw the twins loved their dream sheep Em. DH and I miss the soothing noises since they moved into their own room. Actually we ended up downloading a white noise app and playing it all night. The repetitive noise helps them to sleep through changes in sleep cycles or something.
After a few better weeks with sleep it's all gone a bit Pete Tong here now. DH was up with DS from 2.30-4.00 when I took over. Unfortunately then DD woke up so he had to get up again. At 5am we cut our losses and got up!
DD had a very windy bottom but we don't know what's going on with DS. He doesn't seem hungry. I will if his little tummy is having trouble with all the new food he's been trying. It's all trial and error with babies unfortunately!

Agree about the great family on EWFL and to be fair to her she was a single parent with 2 disabled children. She's amazing! Don't blame her at all for buying so much instant stuff. The boys were fab too.

Off to make soup now.

We had a much better night. After I put Ds down at 5ish we slept until 730. Hoorah. Feeling waaaay more normal today.

I love a sparkly bubbly drink fluffy but prefer the cava/prosecco to champagne although couldn’t really tell the difference if I’m honest. A friend of my parents “only” drinks champagne. The last time she was at their house dad offered a prosecco and she said that she only drinks champagne. Dad said how silly of him he’d forgotten than and said he was off to open the champagne for her. I heard the conversation but was in the kitchen at the time. He came in popped open another bottle of prosecco (it would have been opened anyway) and took her the same glass in. She drank it happily.

I loved EWFL yesterday. Such a great family. I’m always amazed at the fact that they always seem to hate “their” normal brand of whatever when it’s in plain packaging. Amazing how you can be tricked into thinking that a big brand tastes better.

Did this with dh a while ago. He will only eat Heinz beans. I went to the shop and in the polish food section found baked beans. At 21p a can. So bought them. He was out somewhere and asked me to sort lunch. So I made beans on toast. He kept going on about how the beans were nice and what had I done to them. Trying to guess what I’d added. Had to show him the can and fess up that they weren’t his beloved Heinz. But he now buys these instead.

Might venture out for a walk this afternoon. But it should be nsd.

I had a look at my pay calculation yesterday and noticed that (I think) they’ve miss calculated the retained bit of my salary. I think it’s around £100 short. Must check that (with dh - my personal accountant- first, then with our works accounts lady - she’s never usually wrong so want to make doubly sure)

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2017 09:26

Oh I can't stand the only drink champagne type. If the call it "poo" I want to get dhs 12 bore out & pop a cap in their ass.

The best ewfl couple for brands were the Yorkshire tea couple. Banged on about Yorkshire tea for the whole episode & didn't realise it hadn't been swapped.

Dh prefers Aldi beans now.

SnugglySnerd · 19/10/2017 09:33

Me neither Fluffy. To be honest if it contains alcohol I would happily drink it at the moment!
Just had a bar of chocolate. That's not good so early in the morning is it?

Em that's funny. People can be weird about that sort of thing. I remember my dad telling me about a dinner party where a guest was eating pasta and raving about how gorgeous it was, and asked what was in it. Host listed the ingredients and when he said garlic the guest immediately pushed it away saying ugh I don't like anything with garlic in Confused

I'm probably a bit more brand loyal than I should be TBH. For stuff like certain cereals and snacks (which we probably shouldn't eat anyway but oh well).

Didn't sleep that well really. Partly anxiety (I'm gonna let myself off though under the circumstances!) and partly the bed, it is amazing just a lot firmer than what I'm used to so it was kind of like when you can't sleep in a hotel bed IYSWIM. Very glad to have it though and I know I'll get used to it soon!

Need to pack hospital bag today!

Laska5772 · 19/10/2017 09:42

oh Dahlings....Don't you even know that champagne is so last century ? We only drink English sparkling wine.. Ridgeview or Nyetimber along with all other wines, prosecco, cava, sparkly or not in existence Grin

Get to the groove, people!

(actually Ridgeway and Nyetimber is really good but ££, and we often treat ourselves for Christmas when its on offer )

Laska5772 · 19/10/2017 09:46

I once went to the stupid effort for (v tedious) partner of a friend. who insisted that anything garlic was totally verboten. So I made him a special small lasagne without garlic (as well as a larger one for the rest of us) and a special herb bread instead of the garlic bread we were all having..

Guess which ones he ate!!

ememem84 · 19/10/2017 10:09

laksa I haven’t tried the English sparkling wine although have heard amazing things! Must see if duncle can bring some over when he comes for a visit (or take ds to local wine shop and see if they have some!)

Eugh fluffy I have a “poo” friend too. Might hand over one of ds’ nappies next time I see her. Her fave “poo” is Laurent Perrier pink. Which is nice but my fave but this is purely circumstantial is tattinger. On my 26+4 birthday a few years ago dh had booked Sunday lunch at a lovely hotel for us and my family. The night before we’d been at a party for another friend’s 30th (I had initially thought the party was for me...wrong) One too many jaegerbombs and glasses of wine later and I woke up somewhat worse for wear on my birthday. Threw up a couple of times and had to press on and get ready for Sunday lunch. We turned up (I remember I was wearing a neon pink dress - which was far far too bright for hangover Ems) and sat in the bar on the comfy couch by the lovely fire and waited for the family. The barman brought over a Bloody Mary and some crisps for me (I didn’t order it, he just said “this will help”... May have been because I had my Sunnies on indoors...) and suggested to dh that as it was my birthday maybe I’d like a bottle of something lovely. Dh obliged and bought the tattinger. Hangover cured. It was icy cold and crisp. Then we followed that with a roast beef Sunday lunch and I had a nap on a sun lounger by the pool (October birthday but it was unseasonably warm that year so we had coffee outside).

Even now if I’m hungover to the point of death I suggest we head to “the manor” for recovery and champagne (we never do - that was a one off - the most I get now is a cheese toasty and a can of Coke!) Service is excellent - they type of place that knows you want something before you even know you want it... must go back.

Have managed breakfast and a shower complete with hair washing before 10. Hoorah! Ds is sleeping. Hoorah! I know when he sleeps I should be too but am going to take advantage of this and moisturise, drybmy hair, and maybe fold some laundry. And change the bedding.

SnugglySnerd · 19/10/2017 10:11

Don't worry Em I don't expect you'll be hungover for a while! That's the silver lining of sleep deprivation!

God I now think that post above about buying the posh wine for Christmas makes me sound such a La Di Dah!!.

Believe me, Lidl is my favourite wine shop ( their Hortus gin is good also!!) but I do also like Waitrose at Christmas

...Back to the Brew.

Today I am sending back the JL jumper, also a handbag I bought for mums birthday but which I have been banned from giving her by DF. (don't ask, - families Hmmsigh) .

Need miIk but otherwise think it will be NSD

Laska5772 · 19/10/2017 10:19

oh good, I've been outdone by Em!!! I can relax.. (pops cork)WineGin GlitterballGrin

WreckTangled · 19/10/2017 10:22

Britpagne laska we had some lovely stuff from the goodwood estate this year Wink

No one can come to MM with me Sad will have to ask dh

ememem84 · 19/10/2017 10:24

laksa I only like the posh stuff for its life saving hangover curing properties. I suspect it’s made with bacon. Which has similar healing properties. 🥓🥓

Dh is taking me “outout” in a couple of weeks for a belated birthday dinner. We are going to the steak place. Mmmmm rare steak!!!! and a bottle of Malbecmmmmmmm

Ds will be looked after by dm and df. He wouldn’t appreciate steak.

I must get dressed. Currently lounging in towel.
