snuggly my go to jeans are from M&S the super skinny ones. They’re high waisted, stretchy and come in about a million colours. And are £19-22 a pair depending on size.

I also like the primark skinnies but have to travel to the uk for primark as we don’t have one here.

ememem84 · 15/10/2017 21:37

If you’re buying jeans in next I always tend to buy a size smaller than I need - especially with skinnies. They bag right up after half hour or so.

SunnyLikeThursday · 15/10/2017 22:08

Em I wish my jeans would do that. Mine always shrink to skin-tight. I wonder what the secret is?

Tayto are you in Ireland? I see it's due to hit my dh's relations in Ireland and then bounce off and get mine in Glasgow. Yikes.

MeadowHay · 15/10/2017 22:11

Urghhh, I am fed up of morning sickness already and I could well have nearly another two months of it Sad. The last few days I've puked 1-2 times a day with nausea and retching a bunch of other times. I have a sicky tummy anyway because of acid reflux so I guess I am more prone to it. Blergh. Eating lots of ginger biscuits and lots of green tea atm.

Today was spendy eek, we went to the local safari park with DH's uncle and toddler cousin which was super fun as I hadn't been since I was about 5 Shock. I paid for DH and I's lunch at the café which was about £8. Actually DH paid for everything else, not that it matters as it was me who put a huge chunk of my wages into his account a few weeks ago given he was almost running out of his overdraft Shock but ah well.

I find it hard to find jeans that fit me well and are cheap too. Atm I have a pair of blue high-waisted skinnies from Quiz which are a bit stretchy so very comfy. And a pair of black denim skinnies from H&M which are fine but not quite as comfy as they are thick and don't stretch at all. Both of them faded quickly after a few washes but both about £15 each I think, both size 10.

Taytocrisps · 15/10/2017 22:32

Yes Sunny. The entire country (well, ROI) has been placed under a status red wind warning. All schools, colleges and creches will be closed and all hospital outpatients appointments have been cancelled. Thankfully I don't work Mondays so DD and I are going to have a quiet day at home. At least, I hope it's quiet! I have food in although I've just realized I've no chocolate Shock Sad. My hurricane prepping leaves a lot to be desired. On a serious note, I really hope there are no injuries and fatalities.

ememem84 · 15/10/2017 22:40

sunny nonodea. It seems to only be next jeans that do it though for me. The only way I’ve managed to get my usual size to fit and not sag is to wash and then throw in tumble dryer on a high heat. But then the legs shrink and are not long enough. Le sigh.

meadow don’t forget you’re doing amazing. One of the most useful things someone told me when I was in the early stages was to treat morning sickness as you would a hangover. So forget the traditional remedies for the most part (ginger etc) and do whatever you’d do for a hangover. My go to foods were salt and vinegar squares. And icy cold cans of coke.

By the time the sickness passed (15 weeks I think) I’d had enough of crystallised ginger peppermint tea etc. Eugh.

I did find though that trying to eat relatively healthy helped. Although a lot of the time I coukdnt work out whether I felt sick because I was pregnant or had that hungry sick feeling. Either way I just ate.

ChristmasSeacow · 15/10/2017 23:04

Take care those in the path of the winds tomorrow.

Well done Holly

I went to the knit and stitch show. It was amazing. But I cannot possibly post my spends or even admit them to myself . Some was for Christmas presents but the rest 😳. Still I had a lovely day out in fab company and was still hove by 4pm to see the dcs. DH took them both out for a picnic in the forest - first time he has taken them out together and quite daring, given that DS can react badly to new situations. So he did good. A good time was had by all.

Need my bed now, will try to catch up properly tomorrow

notmrscookie · 16/10/2017 04:18

If I remember rightly in tax credits its only the payments u make to your own pension but I could be wrong .

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/10/2017 06:31

Stay safe frugaleers.

I got the Tesco jeans that were in a swears by a couple of months ago (begin September ish). Excellent.

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/10/2017 06:32

Good Luck Tayto. I hope the wind dies down as much as possible before it reaches you. Well done for the hurricane planning.

chocolatespiders · 16/10/2017 06:42

Hi everyone. I am a lurker on this thread!

Queen I didn't know about the pension on tax credits. Should I be telling them what I contribute to my NHS pension every month? Does it affect how much I receive?

WreckTangled · 16/10/2017 07:01

We’re not eligible for tax credits anymore actually. We’re officially the middle pinched Grin

Snuggly I also have Gap skinnies. They’re actually labelled leggings but they’re jeans to me. I also like the Asda ones and I have some from Mango. I am similar to you in that I have slim legs but a belly Blush

Should be a nsd today lots of driving and work to do. Oh wait £24 on ds’ swimming later.

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 07:07

Morning all, I really hope nobody is adversely affected by the storm today!

Hot lunch today as I have cheese sauce defrosted (will be just under 24hrs when I use it so figure that's ok... wasn't well enough to cook yesterday). Sneaking tuna into fussy DS by means of pasta bake

Sorry you're feeling so crap meadow it's hard work growing a baby but I promise it is totally worth it ❤️ are you taking folic acid, some of the brands have ginger added IIRC. But I agree just eat whatever you can stomach really. I had a total twiglet addiction for a while.

Probably a bit spendy today as back and forth between appts. Really wish DH was off work today as I'm quite nervous for some reason. But he needed Wednesday more as we have the bed delivery to get ready for and we are looking after our little great nephew in the afternoon. And he will be doing the bulk of the childcare while I am resting I expect!

This is the last week we will be earning anything from sports club and my music/maths tutoring - all stopping for half term and not setting any more classes after. Sports probably wouldn't have been on much anyway due to weather. I may still teach some friends' DCs if they're coming round anyway but we are close enough for it all to be played by ear (no pun intended 🎹) IYSWIM.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/10/2017 07:29

One of you needs to ring tax credits & find out if this is only private pensions & not occupational ones.

Which would be unfair because it's still money you've earnt but can't spend until you're 70.

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/10/2017 08:08

meadow sickness is the worst. Rich tea biscuits and ready salted Pringles are my suggested foods

Hope today goes well cag and great news the new bed is arriving Wednesday. Any news on the car scratches (sorry if I missed it) ?

Take care tayto and mammy and anyone else in the path of the storm.

I didn’t sleep well last night so am super tired and grumpy. I need to get the latest from my manager about my change of hours- I doubt it’ll go my way. Then I expect you guys will have to put up with my shall I quit my job again musings Sad

SnugglySnerd · 16/10/2017 08:13

Thanks for all the jeans recommendations. I'll look online later. I think I might just go to GAP and try lots on.

Take care Meadow. Plain biscuits eg rich tea helped me.

Stay safe those of you across the Irish Sea.

Morning all.

Welcome chocolate

Today I’m taking ds to a “tots and tea” thing at a local farm shop. No idea what to expect but am giving it a go. Not going on my own though. Someone dh works with has Monday’s off and she’s taking her 5m old dd so we’re going together.

While I was up at silly o clock feeding ds I googled baby clubs etc. I’ve discovered baby sensory, baby Pilates, baby reflexology, baby yoga, And have had a look into swimming lessons.

We’ve signed up for baby reflexology £40 for three reflexology sessions. I will sign up for yoga £50 for 10 sessions but have to have my 6 week appointment first.

Today my spends will be £3 (max) for coffee at the group thing. Then probably £20 on fruit. must avoid all the yummies at the farm shop

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 08:23

Our ferries aren’t running today because of the storm. I don’t think it’ll hit here but any excuse...

Stay safe tayto and mammy

LonelyOversharer · 16/10/2017 08:33

Stay safe everyone, especially mammy and tayto my planning consists solely of thinking about putting bungees on the wheely bin lids as they are both full. I doubt I'll find bungees before the wind passes. We are in the path for the 80mph gusts, should hit the front of the house. Fingers crossed for the sieve roof.

At home day. Going to do 3 x 20min chunks an hour. 20mins general laundry/washing up/mn, 20 mins work (got boring ones so a bit at a time), 20 mins gut dd2 & 3 bedroom.

LonelyOversharer · 16/10/2017 08:35

Twas unavoidable seacow those shows are irresistible!

Chin up love be kind to yourself today ☕♥️

mammymammyIRL · 16/10/2017 08:36

How heavy are your breeze blocks lonely put them on top of lids of bins

Em baby swimming is fabulous, I took ds & he's a complete water baby

mammymammyIRL · 16/10/2017 08:37

Wind starting to pick up here now.
Dc still in bed, I told them to stay until I came for them Grin

Queenofthedrivensnow · 16/10/2017 09:04

In the tax credit calculator it just says pension contributions and explains how to work out the gross. It doesn't specify private - mine is anyway

Queenofthedrivensnow · 16/10/2017 09:05

It's slightly windy down in Plymouth but very weird light like the dawn hasn't broken

mammymammyIRL · 16/10/2017 09:27
