Should be nsd today. Going to cousins 30th birthday party later. Dds are going to be with my parents, first time dd2 is being babysat Shock going to miss them...

Cagliostro · 01/09/2017 12:00

Oh FFS just spotted some mould on the sandwich I was eating. Now I'm sad and hungry.

This keeps happening, bread going off quickly - there is literally nowhere to put it in our tiny kitchen where it doesn't get hot (next to oven, microwave or window). Can't put it in freezer as it's tiny and no space. Gah.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/09/2017 12:08

Def exciting Em did you see my post a couple of days ago about making sure you do things like cinema, dinner out, lie in bed till midday etc now as it may be sometime till you can do them again once baby is here!!

Had a nice morning, dd went to the cinema with a friend, was the first time she has gone in by herself (without an adult) they were fine and enjoyed the film. I went and had coffee with a friend, popped into Sainsburys and picked up a few bits for when dd goes back to school. Got her some jeggings in the sale for £3.30 Shock pleased with that, total spend £10.

Need to get out in the garden this afternoon, want to plant bulbs etc and going to pop to Dun Elm....

Sunny is it auditory processing difficulties your ds has? My nephew has this, the school helped by making sure they don't give him too many instructions at once.

ItalianWiking84 · 01/09/2017 12:47

My vakumm machine just exploded Shock so clearly I need to find a new one Sad

ememem84 · 01/09/2017 13:06

girlie yes I did! Great tip. Tomorrow I'm planning on lazing in bed until 10. Then hair at 1145. Then once I'm done a leisurely waltz around the shops. Maybe some afternoon tea. Then we're going to the theatre tomorrow evening. There's an Agatha Christie play on. Dh thought it was the mousetrap (which I'd been wanting to see for ages - but saw last year) so booked tickets. But still should be a nice day!

As much as I'm sad we're going to have to plan to do things just us once baby arrives I'm excited too. Life is going to change whether we like it or not. I don't want to be one of those "my baby comes everywhere with me" parents (you know the ones who take babies to the cinema, to fancy restaurants, to bars for friends birthdays.....) I want to enjoy baby time and enjoy alone time.

Spends £40 m&s on super soft non wired bras. I haven't bought any bf bras yet as am not sure if I'm going to do it yet. Can always get some later.

WreckTangled · 01/09/2017 13:12

£50 Aldi
£0 breakfast Wink
£20 accessorize. Stupidly didn't check the price before I bought some earrings...

SnugglySnerd · 01/09/2017 13:16

Remind me how old DD is Cag. Lego programme would definitely be OK. It's like Bake Off but with building cool things out of Lego instead of cakes!
I think the gender programme would be OK too. I don't recall any bad language or anything.

Got another good blackberry haul this morning.

Cagliostro · 01/09/2017 13:20

She's recently 10 snuggly although quite a young 10 IYSWIM. But she is very interested in (and angered by) sexism, always spots it in things like clothing toys and adverts. So I think she would find it interesting. :)

Been decluttering like mad today. Sooo many boxes/bags of goodness knows what. I'm getting very aware that time is looming. I said to DH today, you do realise if I end up induced we could have a baby in like 7 weeks? And the git isn't panicky at all!

SnugglySnerd · 01/09/2017 14:48

I think it would be fine for a 10 yo. It all takes place with a class of 7 yr olds and I assume they watched themselves on TV!

Cagliostro · 01/09/2017 14:58

Ha that's a fair point actually! Will definitely watch it thanks. Particularly good timing what with the impending arrival of baby sister :)

Right, should really get back to decluttering now. Got a pile of stuff on the sofa to sort through!

WreckTangled · 01/09/2017 15:01

Em this is my hair along with dds first every 'successful' ponytail. She's very proud hence taking a picture. I have crappy fine hair.

So 100£ on new vakum machine and bags for it Hmm and found secret life of pets blue ray for 6£ so going to safe for dd1 for either a gift or rainy day fun Wink

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/09/2017 16:12

I suppose maybe, yes Girlie. I'm waiting to hear back from the tests. I think it would really help if they could organise his instructions so he has some idea of what's going on. I think I was the same at the same age and I was permanently confused. totally not the case now, not at all...

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/09/2017 16:21

I just looked that up Girlie and it does sound a lot like him. The write up online says it's diagnosed by an audiologist, so I've written to the lady that we've seen before to ask if she does that. Thanks for the pointer!

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/09/2017 17:03

£71 sainsbury first week of food planning not going well. £15 mountain warehouse on a coat for dd.

My tumble dryer for it's broken and I don't think I can fix it. I'm going to ring a repair man and get his opinion do that with either be less than £100 or £££££ for a new Bosch dryer. It's 10 year old like do done well.
Also need a new Hoover and going to get a shark one £££

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/09/2017 17:44

Not a good day for vacuums by the looks of it, or tumble dryers.

You could get a Miele Life. I covet them. There's a discount outlet for them in Oxfordshire. Dh doesn't consider it a day out Hmm, I'd love a rummage though. Waitrose are good for meal planning, the basics like meat are often on the extra 20% offers.

I wear obsession everyday Blush I've just started a new one & its discontinued now. Dh hates it. I spray it on vacuum bags too.

Falafel are really, really easy to make. You'll never buy them again.

£10 treats for Dh, he's doing 11hr days & is exhausted. He isn't even having statutory breaks & his knee ligaments still fucked.
90p qualifying bet for a £10 bet tm.
3p qualifying bet for £20 over the weekend.

Money in
£13 matched betting
£20 gift vouchers for Christmas.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/09/2017 18:09

i will have a look at the price difference for Miele and see if i think they are worth the difference. No Waitrose or Occado for us yet as we are too far ooop North. Or they believe that the demographic of my area is one that would not pay for those shops. Although Sainsburys is always busy but thats probably as its one of the only decent supermarkets in down - asda and Tesco are rubbish here. My Dishwasher will have to wait.

LonelyOversharer · 01/09/2017 18:37

I've spent loads today on bits and bobs...gcse sylabus reading books for dd1, she'll have finished them before she goes back, but good not to have to borrow a school copy. Lunch in marksies ££, Tesco again, Sainsbury's again, new belt in White Stuff £19, have lost both my belts. But, this is the last spendy moochy day as we're back next week.

Cycled to and from work, so 20 miles, went hard, felt good.

We made gnocchi for tea. It's a first for us. They're so nice, like little savoury pancake blobs, crispy on the outside. Stirred in to yesterday's slightly hot red veg sauce and bacon crumbled on top. So nice. Made far too much gnocchi, so slung it in the freezer uncooked on a baking sheet. Will bag up when frozen. Sound about right?

Have dug out my Christmas knitting bag, nativity donkeys and camels, elf on the shelf (I know I know, but they sell well!) and have several full nativity sets partly made, I can sell these for upwards of £75, so need to pull my finger out. I can usually fund Christmas with my knitting, but must start now as most of it goes to the states.

LonelyOversharer · 01/09/2017 18:42

life if I have to ie passing we go to waitrose in Hexham. The Tescos by Newcastle airport used to be the biggest in the country (I used to go there a lot when fuel was cheaper) are these a bit too far up for you?

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/09/2017 18:49

Yes lonely. I wouldn't make a trip to get there. Sometimes we go that way to the lakes but not often. There is a decent Tesco not too far away but time is short and I'm lazy. I did discover there is a booths in Ripon which made me very excited.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/09/2017 19:10

Sorry fluffy I wore the obsession perfume all day and it has not grown on me. But perfume does smell different on different people. If I can't ebay it for a reasonable amount then I'll send it your way. Only had two squirts and won't spray it again stinks . Although if it's been discontinued maybe I should hold on to it for a while?

DD2 has been very odd today and maybe not feeling well. She threw a grump over sun cream earlier and spent between 10.15 and noon in bed. She's now had another grump and taken herself off to bed! I hope we don't have an awful night Confused

£6 something in Tesco including a Euro millions ticket. Maybe tonight will be the night (I don't normally do the lottery)

Ick about the mouldy bread cag

To those having to replace vacuum cleaners Flowers . I always try to hope the replacement item is better/more energy efficient

WreckTangled · 01/09/2017 19:12

I can't wear perfume. I don't like smells. I sometimes like it on other people but I have some weird thing about it.

Went to see that house. It's nice with a lovely kitchen but I just can't move the dc from their school. It's also a different county so school holidays would be different to what I work. If we're going to move it has to be worth it. Dreading telling the lady, I feel awful.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/09/2017 19:23

They're both good reasons to say no.

Love It's all down to preference.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/09/2017 19:27

I've just opened a 100ml edt, it would go off before I got round to using it. You're very kind to offer though.

You could start a perfume swap thread on style & beauty.

LonelyOversharer · 01/09/2017 20:02

Perfume is so funny. I wore it everyday, as I don't wear makeup and worked in an all-male environment (bar me) it was my 'thing'.

Since having dc it all smells chemically and wrong on me, even my old favourites. So sad! Dp says it smells good, but it smells bad to me! I shall keep trying to find one which doesn't smell horrid to me. I currently love Marc Jacobs daisy dream, but it only smells nice for 2 minutes.

Have won back half the money I lost in the casino (was £25) the other night, so feel marginally better! Lots of match betting today, and bets to use tomorrow, will count up tomorrow and see where I am for the week. Got nearly £400 in my betfair exchange. Annoyingly I owe this much to school for music lessons...my dad thought I was paying, I thought he was as he said he'd sort it. There's no way I'm tapping him for that much, ever. But wish I'd known 3 years ago...I think we fell through an admin crack.
