Just saved £78 thanks to MSE!
Gained £30 on QuidCo

LonelyOversharer · 08/09/2017 22:04

They are lovely seacow I always go for lunch bakery at Morrisons on a saturday, so will look tomorrow. I love nutmeg clothes, ds has many. They didn't do clothes when the dd's were little. They are on a par quality wise with m&s and tu.

I have not moved off the sofa for hours. Except to fetch ds ice lollies. I've been looking through plant/veg catalogues that came in the post. Now I want spring bulbs!

Well done on weight loss nobuts (your name reminds me of Wreck it Ralph. Is it from somewhere else too?) Very frugal to buy a belt and not new clothes! The onset of autumn has me eating like a really greedy horse. I really mustn't put on 6kg this winter (I did last year), as it's a bugger to shift again in the spring.

ChristmasSeacow · 08/09/2017 22:13

I am starting slimming world again next week. It's gotta be done. I lost over 3st on it before getting pregnant with DD, I've put a lot of it back on Hmm. However, I am doing that classic pre-diet thing of trying to eat up all the bad stuff and consequently I will have an extra 3lb to lose Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/09/2017 22:21

Lonely Morrisons are also doing packs of bulbs for £3, I bought a load last week!!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 08/09/2017 22:33

lonely I was watching wreck it ralph with dd's when I signed up which inspired my name 😆 I made the decision not to buy any new clothes till I reach target - 1st 3lbs to go to keep myself on plan! If my belt plan doesn't work I may have to buy something to wear!

seacow I did that just before starting, I have no self control and just know I would have blown the plan with goodies in the house 😂😂

ChristmasSeacow · 08/09/2017 23:17

You've done really well nocuts how long did it take you?

Hangupyourhangups · 08/09/2017 23:49

Hi ladies, I'm new here 👋🏻 I LOVE this thread, it's right up my street! I am ok to join your crew ❤️ I get great satisfaction budgeting and making lists haha! 3 kids, 7 year old who is 8 Christmas Eve! And twin girls who turned 4 on Monday. Christmas is going to be expensive this year so th planning starts now 🙌🏻 Nice to meet you all!

thewaitresses · 09/09/2017 06:22

Welcome hangup! 😊. You're in good company here (especially with twins - there seem to be quite a few - I've been up with mine since 5.30!)
I get great satisfaction out of budgeting too - if only life would allow me to occasionally stick to the budget I'd be ok!

£25 chippy tea and wine to celebrate surviving my first week back at work!

WreckTangled · 09/09/2017 06:38

Welcome hangup

I need to go food shopping but goodwood revival is on which is a pita for traffic and dickheads in their classic cars. They all cut through the lanes where we live but of course don't move out of the way for anyone Angry

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 09/09/2017 07:19

seacow it's been around 18 weeks so really pleased with the results, feel much more confident. I'm weighing this morning bit it's that time of the month and I feel really heavy so not expecting a loss 😣

Welcome hangup I too love a list. I'm eyeing up some magnetic and stick up whiteboards on amazon for writing lists/food planner and calendar. Waiting for my eBay stuff to sell and may buy them :) are you on the christmas bargain thread? Loads of great bargains shared there.

Also for christnas shopping where possible I buy second hand or new from ebay/schpock/facebook selling groups. DD loves expensive comic books and ds games so am looking out second hand. Eg I bought a ds game off schpock for £13 she has asked for, in store it's £35 so can get her a few others as a surprise 😁

Few more christmas presents won on ebay £7 adventure time card wars game, £10 twozies mega pack of 24. Hoping not to spend much more today I'm over my mums so will walk there bus home.

Cagliostro · 09/09/2017 07:22

Welcome hangup :)

Nocuts we LOVE wreck it ralph, it's quoted a lot in this house :o

Em hope you have a fabulously restful luxurious day! Thanks

So much for a lie in. Again.

Spends today will be transport - going to mum's for the weekend, DH is working.

mammymammyIRL · 09/09/2017 07:33

Link to Instagram video of my former taebo instructor who's 38 weeks pregnant teaching a class - amazing

Wheely & collie welcome back
Seacow sounds like holiday is going really well

I used my frugaleer ways to save me money this week. The frame in pic is €40 with Argos, €29.99 with easons but it kept dropping out of my cart, so after 8 emails that got sorted, they gave me 15% off as an apology, I had 35c worth of loyalty points & a €10 evoucher from my Irish opinions survey so spent €15.49 & it's being delivered for free directly to my friend. Bummer though afterwards discovered that my bank were giving €5 cashback on €25 spent so if I'd bought something else worth €10 it would've only cost me €5, guess I should look on it the other way it'd be €5 extra spends I hadn't planned Hmm

Feeling a bit meh with headcold so getting Tesco delivery today €90.83 my friend is picking me up cereal in Dunnes Stores €8, and I'm going to buy nappies in Lidl as they're half price & get any extras we need such as dog food, catnuts, and other stuff I didn't buy from Tesco. Need to go to animal feed place too today & getting dds nails painted at beauticians today as she's stopped biting them & this is her reward. My eyebrows will cost €7.
Spendy week on beauty & hair next week - thurs cut & colour, sat going to races so makeup & wash & blowdry.

I signed up for free month of Netflix & if it makes dh stop grumbling about android box vs sky will stay with it @ €9.99 a month. Found a funny series to get me started Grace & Frankie.

Love hearing talk about buying for Christmas, I like collie save for it all year round. Haven't started buying yet which is unusual for me. We've been invited to dss' house for Christmas, they were with us last year & gave us a lovely hamper mainly with Aldi Specially Selected brand & me a huge box of choccies. I will do similar, a bottle of baileys is a must as it's his wife's favourite drink. Not sure if I should chip away at it buying an item every week when shopping or notHmm they live extremely close to my bff with the new baby so I'll see him on his first Christmas 🎄 and my parents are in same county too Grin

Hi hangup I also love budgeting, yesterday I actually opened ynab without thinking to enter au pairs wage transfer before banking to do it Shock

Must get timer for Christmas lights & tv for when we are away.

So good few of us losing weight currently me, nocuts, seacow, north & apologies to whoever I left out Sad

Morning allSmile

55 spend yesterday at Pizza Hut for wheelylads birthday.

Need to return a few things to b and q today and get a few daft bits. Screws and vent.

Wheelycote · 09/09/2017 07:40

Well done mammy on your 15% disc!Smile can't believe that's even possible for a heavily pregnant instructor. There's hope for me yet. If she can do that I've no excuse lol

mammymammyIRL · 09/09/2017 07:46

If you check out her insta page it shows her bodybuilding figure from previous year.

A colleague has given us €50 for drinks at races next weekend, it's my friend's birthday but I'm not drinking due to half marathon following day so she's suggesting I keep half of it for my trip to Dublin following weekend. Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/09/2017 07:51

Morning

Wheelycote · 09/09/2017 07:55

Wreck I asked about and one of the girls is turning her car in.

The consensus is - yes they are finicky But everyone has said its worth it because of the stress. They all have kids that destroy ithe insides of cars lol and drive in places that would make even a competent driver in a land rover wince.

The girl returning her car has said they've spot checked before handing back to give her option to rectify anything and found a big dint she knew about amongst lots of little scratches to get the dint repaired will cost 900 poundShock But she can put it through the insurance and just needs to pay the excess of £250 a couple of nearby scratches are being repaired as on same panel. They haven't fussed about the other scratches as classed as very minor.

Just a thought and what I plan to do - I get paid mileage and a little extra for the first few off thousand miles of the year. I'm going to put a bit of that money aside each month 10-20quid maybe and let that build up over the 2/3 years and use that to pay for any scuffs/scratches at the end.

I needed a car for the Job but you can only get a lease car when you've worked there for 6months. I went with a Pcp lease through a dealer. When that ends I'll get a lease car. They keep you on the road and take all headaches!

This has got me thinking about when I hand my car back and think I'll go over agreed mileage😬 I'll start to put 15 quid of the mileage and depreciation expenses I get back each month and put in a savings account to not be touched until I have to return it

Hope that helps and makes sense

Wheelycote · 09/09/2017 07:57

Wreck hope that made sense lol!! It appears I can't string a sentence together this morning😂😂

ememem84 · 09/09/2017 08:06

Awake. But still in bed. I had a dream I had baby. Woke up and needed the worlds biggest wee well for a preggo haha! Back in bed now with toast tea and catface. She's wandered over the duvet kneaded it nice and soft and has flopped down over my legs. I'm not going anywhere even if I wanted too.

WreckTangled · 09/09/2017 08:08

Thanks wheely that's really helpful!

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/09/2017 08:20

Welcome Hangup, are you on the Christmas bargain thread too?.

Cagliostro · 09/09/2017 08:21

Aww belated happy birthday to wheelylad! Cake

I should probably get up now. Want to got through all the Caglets' clothes before packing for mum's (we did pyjamas undies and socks yesterday). They have loads of tatty/outgrown stuff.

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/09/2017 08:23

Welcome hangup

nocuts sounds like you are doing well with the weight loss and good frugaleering with the belt instead of new clothes in the meantime. I'm also an eat up the bad stuff in the cupboards before dieting person seacow- and then DP always goes and fills them back up. I have taken to buying mini packs/funsize of chocolates/sweets from Poundland for my treats as they are far better than one of the big bags. Not necessarily cheaper but better portion control. If I completely cut out treats then I binge.

Ooooh, I quite fancy a trip to Morrisons now to look at the clothes. Got one about 5 miles away so a bit of a trek but have £10 gift voucher which we've had for ages to use. Also I think my Santander bank account normally has 10% cashback so is probably worth going combined with a food shop.

Thanks for the website link fluffy. DP thinks it's hilarious that the DC now play photographing receipts like mummy Grin . He thinks I'm teaching them an odd 'normal'

Well done on getting your money saving on your item mammy, sometime perseverance pays off

sunny you definitely have a lot going on at the moment. Look after yourself and let the sizzle escape every now and then Flowers

What did you save £78 on mse on collie ? That's a great amount

I have such a cold and chills. Maybe this will be my bad cold for the autumn/winter. We need to do a proper food shop today but I may try and convince DP to go without me. I may have to order more tissues from Amazon as well as I can get my preferred ones for £1 a box.

Wheelycote · 09/09/2017 08:49

Cheers Cag he's 17!!!😮 they grow so quick Smile

SunnyLikeThursday · 09/09/2017 08:50

Thanks Love. Yes we've never had a week like this before.

Welcome back Collie. It's lovely to have you back and hear what you're up to again. The autumn list is great. :-)

Em I gave up a month before ds was born when I was still full of energy. He was a week late too. I was quite shocked at how hard it was to keep the house properly clean even with only me in it during the day though. It was really useful to have a few weeks at home to think about how my new life would be and buy a robot vacuum cleaner
