north wow Tobago sounds like an ace opportunity for ds!

Slept really well last night. Not sure if it's because I (finally) managed to get comfortable or because it's just not so hot or what. But I feel nice and rested. Hoorah!

Todays spends should just be lunch. Maybe a soup and a roll.

Dh has totally confused catface. She usually comes into the bedroom about now and meows for food. He was awake at 615 and got up and fed her. She's now curled up on the bed with me And keeps going "mmmmrrrrrrrp" at me. She's enjoying a pre-alarm head rub though. 😻

Midwife yesterday said baby boy is absolutely head down bum up and is the right way round. She reckons he's ready to go. I'm calling the maternity ward at the weekend to see if we can go for a visit - never actually been there so it'd be nice to see if before the event so we have an idea of where we're going and also I need to pick up a form re a private room for me after he arrives.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 06/09/2017 07:12

north I've always loved the idea of a book club but never got around to joining one! That's a great opportunity for ds, could u try finding some photos videos of other things they have to do there to try convincing dd. Maybe a stopover somewhere for a day or 2 if it's the journey that's the problem. Or could she stay with a relative?

cag we always use frozen Quorn mince as I like the fact I put a certain amount In and it doesn't decrease!

em that's great news baby is in the go position. When I was at that stage with my dd's the only way u could comfortably sit down was on an exercise ball - excellent for labour too! I was so chilled maternity ward didn't think I was in labour on the phone so sent me to triage where they found I was already 8cm dilated. DD was born about 40 mins later 😊

First day back at school for dd's today! Then I'm off to post office to send parcels, lidl for food shop and then back home to list more ebay stuff, clean the house and hopefully do an hour of coursework before getting dd's!

I downloaded vypr onto my phone but on first day had 60 odd steers abd yesterday didn't have any, checked about 6 times through the day. Anybody else have this problem? :)

WreckTangled · 06/09/2017 07:19

I have a meeting today I think parking is £2 but I can claim that back. I also need to buy lunch because I wasn't very prepared then going for an Indian tonight with new work team (I've moved based since the new term). Hoping to get new team lead as the one at my new base is much nicer than the one at my old base...

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/09/2017 07:30

I've not tried Vypr no but I'm going to now.

ememem84 · 06/09/2017 07:49

I know I mentioned it yesterday but I've just looked at the reciept dh got from the coop yesterday. I'm keeping this one sad £50 exactly!!! Look!! Haha!

I organised a book club and wine evening once. Funnily enough not much book got discussed.

What book are you currently reading north

nocuts what's vypr?

Counting down day 8 of work left this year. Eek. It's pretty scary actually. Life change is imminent. But for all the best reasons.

Yay em glad all progressing! Can't believe how close he is to being in your arms now 💕

Thank you life feel a bit more human this morning after a decentish night (bladder-kicking baby notwithstanding). Mum visiting today which is really nice :)

No idea if today will be spendy or not. Need to update my bus pass though (guess who still hasn't applied for free disabled bus pass even though she now has a passport photo).

Managed to find a notebook of plain coloured paper for DD who prefers writing on that. Need a notebook for daily maths/spellings (this is the first work we do every day at 9am) - until recently she refused to do it on paper at all so we used a whiteboard as it felt less "schooly" (maths is a real struggle for her) so this is a massive achievement and definitely worth a few quid!

Cagliostro · 06/09/2017 09:05

Oh and yesterday £27 on new family railcard. Wouldn't let me renew to a 3 year which is annoying as it would save slightly more money, but I suppose it leaves a little more cash in my account for the many baby/house things we still need

Laska5772 · 06/09/2017 09:14

TMI alert! urggh! feeling yuck and I have 'washing machine tummy' Ominous ..
I have my work laptop here, working at home today JIC (safer) ...

Me too Laska although I think it is related to the unwelcome return of AF. Downhill to the menopause now!

Beach today. Bit chilly but possibly the only dry day this week and DS is desperate to go! Back later...

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 10:46

Yo!

Do you mind if I come back home? I am really struggling to find employment again and I have started frittering like crazy. I think it's stress and linked to my low self esteem.

It's going to take me a while to catch up with name changes, babies etc. But I will get there.

My aim is to cut back and be sensible regarding cash again. I obviously became complacent. DH is amazing with money since we joined the thread 4 years ago. He was terrible beforehand so it's just me who needs a kick up the arse.

I am hoping to find a job eventually and after I do I'm hoping to be much more financially savvy whilst maintaining frugality.

collieeeeeee!! welcome back!!!!! Xxxx

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/09/2017 11:44

Collie so good to see you!! Did you manage to move in the end? How's ds doing?

So have waved dd off to big school i walked about 5 paces with her and then she saw her mates and was off!! Is walking home by herself after school as well, she was very nervous and I have felt very emotional all morning. Trying not to hum 'slipping through my fingers' by Abba!!

Have been over to a friends for coffee and catch up this morning and meeting another friend for lunch, good to keep occupied! Also need to do some house work as things have been rather neglected over the holidays!

Cagliostro · 06/09/2017 12:03

Aww girlie that's a good sign that she went off happily! Exciting stuff but yes very emotional too.

Unexpected spends today! Dad phoned to say he'd had a phone call from our local station saying mum had lost her bag en route to us (she was coming to us for the day). Had literally nothing - phone money bus pass etc. So we were going to rescue her and bring her to ours, replace ticket home for later etc.

On bus to station get another call and some kind person has handed her bag in at Brighton, so they gave her a ticket down there, and we thought oh sod it let's go meet her there and make a day of it! On a train now and dad said he's going to get a train down there too. :) So speedier than planned but nice to turn it all into a positive.

LonelyOversharer · 06/09/2017 12:10

girlie don't! If I even think of that song I'll blub. It's just the most accurate description of growing dc ever. Dd2 hopped out of the car and went in confidently, she's such a big girl

Saw the orthadontist £50, dd1 can have fixed braces, will take 5-7 months (was expecting longer), £1200. Pay monthly dd, so it's doable. All impressions and photos taken (she has beautiful if squint teeth), and back to school by 10. The private dentist was nice, quite jolly, but not in a weird way, and talked to dd1 like a grown up, which I liked.

Have slung denim over the old sofa to "see" and it looks ace, so am definatley doing it. It is so quiet at the shop without the dc here. We might go out for lunch... but tea is in the slow cooker already, gammon with tomato and beans, campfire stew? Got the recipie from a mn thread. I also made cakes this morning, nervous energy!

ememem84 · 06/09/2017 13:24

£4.50 toasted peri peri chicken cheese and onion wrap a Diet Pepsi and a packet of smokey bacon crisps #fatty

Dh rang me while i was out and we met up. He'd been to jack wills and had bought me some new sweatpants #lastofthegreatromantics he figured I'd want something comfy for after baby. I knew there was a reason I married him! Haha! Also Jack Wills have a promotion on at present - 25% off all sweats. So reduced to £29.25.

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 13:55

what a lovely welcome! Blush

girlie hope DD has a great day.

No we didn't move in the end. It took about 10 months but we had 2 failed sales. By the time the 10 month approached we realised that our priorities had changed and that staying put was a pretty good idea ( I feel no resentment to our buyers). It's really funny how your life can change so quickly. DS is having some medical issues at the moment which affects everything. Hence why staying put is better for us. Schools, GP, nursery, hospitals are perfect. And the public transport has been overhauled so we're getting about easier than ever before ( I don't drive). However it was costly and we had to pay a few thousand in legal fees. Trust me to go with a tiny local firm who require payment whether the sale completed or not. Smile

Right so I just spent:
£3.40 on the bus
£2.75 in the bakery

thewaitresses · 06/09/2017 14:28

Hello collie! I'm a great believer in things working out for the best (eventually!) and it's great that you're settled.

Back at work is helping frugality - £1.60 on some oranges and mini-cheds to keep at work as snacks for the week but that's it.

I have a chicken roasting already as it will be hectic when babies wake up/school etc. I fell out of love with my SC and haven't used it for a couple of years but that campfire stew sounds lovely! It may be time to dust it off...

ItalianWiking84 · 06/09/2017 14:44

Oh you lot are so so fast. Been busy bee at work last couple of days. Preparing for Monday to do English lessons. Thanks for all the kind words of my English being well.
I'm nervous for Monday.
Dh got a new rice cooker today 60£ Shock madness but then again the old one lasted since 2012. And he invited the girls and me out for dinner tonight Smile new Asian place in town that he wanna try out Smile I hope to have a chance for a proper read through later and post

ItalianWiking84 · 06/09/2017 14:45

Welcome back collie Flowers

WreckTangled · 06/09/2017 15:38

Collie! Woo hoo! Hope ds is ok.

As I'm going out for dinner tonight I have no idea what to do dh and the dc. Maybe fish fingers Grin

Need to sort the washing out before I pick them up from after school club.

ememem84 · 06/09/2017 15:44

We're having piiiiiiiizzzzzzzzaaaaaaa for dinner. Mmm. I love me a pizza.

I'm a great believer collie in things happening for a reason. So if the house move wasn't meant to be it wasn't meant to be. You'll do it when it is. 🙂

ememem84 · 06/09/2017 15:45

Just booked afternoon tea with dm and dsis for Saturday. Probably the last one "just the girls" until baby boy arrives. Should be nice. My treat and not cheap at £25 a head but it's at a naice hotel. They'll treat us right.

WreckTangled · 06/09/2017 15:50

I'm going out for Indian!! I never get to go out for Indian!
