Oh I love an 'out' Indian wreck (that could be read all wrong) even though I only ever have a chicken korma and plain naan. Dull as ditchwater, me. Have a great meal!

em that's just the sort of thing you should be doing just before baby arrives. Make the most of not needing to worry. Even if you get out alone once ds arrives, you'll forever have the worry ! Are they ok? Are they missing you? Are they crying? Did they manage to take that bottle? Will they do something new that you'll miss? It's never ending.

Dd2 had a good day, phew! Dd1 was a bit miffed as some of her friends have grown taller than her over the holidays. I'm wondering if she's topped out already. She's 5'5" and has been for 3 years now.

Spends: £14 on ver naice sarnies in marksies, plus biccys and sweets, £5 coffees, £4 hobbycraft.

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 16:52

I've started off well. Today I've requested £65 refund from Scottish Power as my account is in credit. We need 2 new tyres on the car so I'm just trying to be sensible.

Going to take back a radio alarm clock we bought from Sainsburys but we don't have the receipt. We bought it at the weekend but it's too buzzy through the night. So hopefully they'll give us store credit. It was £25! Our previous alarm clock was battery operated so never had the mains powered noise before. Happy using our phones for now.

Did the shop for £56 but am going to add some ice cream later so it'll probably tot up to £58. Not bad considering previous shops have all been around £75-80 for the last few months.

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 16:53

I definitely think things happen for a reason too Smile definitely happy staying plus our neighbours are awesome. That in itself is a reason to stay!

ememem84 · 06/09/2017 16:58

wreck oooh I absolutely love going out out for an Indian. There's something about it. I try and force myself to try something different everytime - but my staple is always peshwari naan. Must have a peshwari naan. Mmmmmm. And popadums with lime pickle and mango chutney. Mmmm. now I want Indian foods

Baby boy will learn quickly to never do anything new and exciting without his mama being there. The nursery lady we spoke to said babies never ever do the firsts at nursery. They always wait for the weekends. When both mum and dad are home. 😉

SnugglySnerd · 06/09/2017 17:01

Ooh Wreck I would love to go out for an Indian. It's my favourite. Not been out in the evening for ages!

NSD. Had a lovely autumn walk collecting conkers and playing with those sycamore helicopter thingies. Autumn is so good for free toddler entertainment!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/09/2017 17:04

Hi all, dd survived her first day, she said she enjoyed it and has made a new friend so thats all good the walking there and back was fine as well and she has organised meeting her friends tomos.

Had a chap pop over earlier to quote me for putting in a cat flap, he reckons he could do it Friday morning for £30, am very pleased with that will quite possible be the best £30 i have spent this year Grin will be with great relish that I chuck the litter tray out!!

Collie Yy to things happening for a reason, big believer in that, sorry to hear ds has been poorly though.

Lunch out cost £20 and i also filled the car up for £30.

Am avoiding looking at my account as have over spent massively this week Blush I find that happens whenever I don't have work to keep my hands off the debit card!!

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 17:12

Thats good girlie! Enjoy your meal Wreck.

Snuggly Ooh yeah we love autumn too. I found my old autumn frugal activity list if anyone wants it? Also found the Xmas one. I did these years ago and used to post them up for family ideas.

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/09/2017 17:17

Welcome back .collie

Busy day working at home but my work phone wouldn't work so peaceful in that regards. Work is piling back on already.

I really fancy a curry now instead of my dull SC beef casserole . Had a tin of soup for lunch too. NSD.

DD had a good first day back. Currently watching her swimming lesson which she didn't want to go and join even though she is so excited about going.

South western trains have 5x nectar points for advance bookings for another few days so will buy my train ticket in advance. I travel infrequently enough not to buy a season ticket

em DH seems to be on the case with making things comfortable for you after baby is born Star

SnugglySnerd · 06/09/2017 17:25

Welcome back Collie! I was thinking about your autumn list the other day. We made our own but I'm sure it's not as extensive!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/09/2017 18:39

Girlie I'm glad she enjoyed it. It's so scary being the littlest again.

Collie I wondered if the house went through. Welcome back into the frugal family. Sign up to Profit Accumulator & do some matched betting. It's difficult at first because it's all new but people make a tax free living from it & it gives you an income while you job hunt. Some people are on 50k a year doing that.

Love Do you add dumplings? I love dumplings. Easy to make. I use beef suet because I think palm oils a bit fake ie doesn't fill you up.

Em Yep, I'd tell parents that too.

£1.50 beer and bread in aldi
99p Zoflora for the laundry gloop
39p pita breads from lidl.

The over the knee boots are here. Dh has promised to give an honest review. Might as well send them back now.

Doner kebab tonight, favourite meal of the week.

Cagliostro · 06/09/2017 19:19

Yay glad girlieDD and others had a good first day!

Oh god brighton was soooo spendy. Blush

£41 H&M. As we had dashed out the door thinking we'd just be going to the station, DD was wearing flappy skirt and sandals. Brighton was cold. So we got jeans (which TBF she needs anyway as winter approaches) and boots as she's outgrown hers. Got both of them a pack of socks (need to go through all theirs as outgrown/full of holes) and some hairbands.
£18 TKMaxx on another pair of jeans for DD and a pack of the cutest baby socks 😍
£12 Tiger - snacks and blank find-the-pair cards as I use them for learning games and they're cheaper than buying online
£8 bus fares
£12 train fares
£61 Bravissimo, 2 nursing bras. Hopefully won't change size between now and birth, surprisingly my cup size hasn't actually changed (I had a fitting). Amazed to find non wired nursing bras that actually feel supportive as it was non-existent when DS was born (and I was a smaller cup size then). Yay!!!

Mum had said she would buy me a bra (as we had planned to go to Brighton for Bravissimo at some point anyway) but I snuck to the till before she had a chance, she had already given me a cheque towards baby stuff which was more than generous. 💕

fluffy definitely going to look into that! Thank you!

I could retrain but I can't even begin to think what I could retrain as. I'm 31. The only thing I'm good at is computing. But I don't wish to do programming bad experiences I'm rubbish with numbers, beauty, hair & needles which rules out accounting, banking, hairdressing & nursing BlushBlush which is probably 75% of the adult learning courses at my nearest college.

ememem84 · 06/09/2017 20:00

Oh collie I missed your lists.

Laska5772 · 06/09/2017 20:17

£20 at the Indian. We paid for one of our colleagues as she's getting married soon.

Dh not talking to me because I got annoyed the the dc were still awake. I would have had them both asleep by 7 Angry

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/09/2017 20:25

Ooooh love the list collie

What jobs have you done before collie , that may help with job suggestions? I want to retrain/ up my skills and I'm 34 so almost prehistoric compared to you.

I got to lunchtime today before sending DP a 'I want to resign text message'. Which meant I lasted all of 5 hours before getting really cheesed off. Instead I have put a lemon meringue pie from the freezer in the oven and will commiserate eating that.

Spendy day cag but it all sounded like it was needed. And tomorrow you can be frugal Smile

Laska5772 · 06/09/2017 20:40

loveabaconsandwich remind me what you do (having a dumb old bat moment) teaching nursing? sigh..

I have a verytalented friend/workmate think brilliant musician plays loads of instruments has her own band gets bookings but cant make a living out of it , also a grart artist and , craftswoman (crochet etc etc) .and event organiser ,in her 30s .. ,She is just so wasted in her job, i hate to see it, and she is desperate to find something else We have been trying to come up with money making ideas for her ...

Shes feeling a bit sad that i am retiring ( which is nice in a way) and I am feeling a bit sad that I am leaving her to the cr*p job..

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 06/09/2017 20:46

Laska it was £130 for seven of us including 3 alcoholic drinks and a tip. I thought it was quite a pricey one Grin

Laska5772 · 06/09/2017 20:53

LOL at love being' almost Prehistoric'! If so must be quite late on .. Eocene maybe? ..

I must be Early Trassic period period then!! Grin..
We still find lots of Eocene shells in our local blue slipper clay cliffs here (of creature will still exist in the Carribean today ),, I find this stuff fascinating..

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 21:03

loveabaconsandwich I trained in webshite design & programming but most of my jobs have been graphic design. I am rubbish at crafts though. I also worked in private banking for a while Grin big big mistake that was. They definitely recruited me by mistake!

The main jobs that are advertised here are HR jobs, legal secretaries & recruiters. I'd quite like to be a legal secretary but I need a laptop to test my typing speed but I don't have a laptop Blush and alas, no previous experience either.

CollieBobs · 06/09/2017 21:05

I have applied for some jobs at the council but they take years to shift through applications. I'll be dead by the time the "closing date" approaches on most of them Gin
