DD has come home from holiday with an ear infection and suspect fractured toe - joy! Just been to the doctors thankfully her prescription is free.

No what to do today - its raining again.

Cagliostro · 24/08/2017 09:35

I'm quite pleased I didn't succumb to a takeaway yesterday. DH brought me home some chocolate so all was well after a totally horrendous day.

Thought I'd share these. Dhs cupcakes arrived. I didn't order 24. I ordered 12 so slightly cheaper than above. But look. Aren't they glorious. Hahaha!

Hi all

I'd like to join if I may, please? I've been lurking on these threads for an embarrassingly long time and kept meaning to join in but never managed to catch up with the threads as they move so fast! Am up to date as of this morning so here goes!

I am married with 3 DC (aged 5, 3 (nearly) and 7 months). We also have a very lovable but very stupid springer spaniel. I'm on maternity leave at the moment but heading back to work in September and really need to get my spending under control. I'm not a fritterer as such, but I am hopeless at sticking to a grocery budget etc. And don't start me on kids' clothes...

Looking forward to getting to know you all a bit better :)

ememem84 · 24/08/2017 10:53

Amazing need super well done to dd. And to you for being embarrassing mum supremo! Haha! Xx

ememem84 · 24/08/2017 10:53

Hi lily welcome!!!

LillyLollyLandy · 24/08/2017 10:55

Thanks em! Not long to go now with baby boy, you must be so excited!

Need those are amazing results. Well done to your DD!

ememem84 · 24/08/2017 11:19

lily yep. 5 weeks until "D day". We are excited scared nervous terrified excited excited etc.

Dh said this morning it suddenly seems more real to him!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/08/2017 11:19

Hi Lilly, we love it when a lurker joins us.

I'm life, I work full time, 2 3 DC 7&9 and a dh who acts like a third child at times. I'm oop north and am also rubbish with groceries.

Cagliostro · 24/08/2017 11:23

Wow need that's so awesome! Well done DD!

Welcome lilly don't worry about keeping up this thread is crazy fast at times!

Soooo relieved, health visitor called and the paediatrician has agreed to let DD try melatonin!

Hello Lily, lovely that you've joined in. I have 2 Spaniels. In awe that you have a nutty spaniel and small children!

Love the cupcakes.

Bloody hell Life, not great for your DD. Or you wrecked. The drops work quickly in my experience.

I'm definitely joining the anti fritter brigade, we can be the anti fritter police for each other.

Thanks all. I'm so emotional as she worked so bloody hard, she works so hard at everything she does, she dealt with the pony being injured and still got fab results. That's all I ever ask. Don't get me wrong, I was chuffed for DS, but he cruised through on his ability and still hasn't fully grasped how hard he needs to work even now, even though his results are what they are.

DMiL wants milk and I need a shop at Sainsbury's. I won't fritter.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/08/2017 11:33

Stick to the list need -

£64.03 sainsburys delivery and it was nowt at all. The bloody chicken then sent me goes out of date today fgs - byriani for tea. I'm having a cupboard freezer use up the rest of this week.

ememem84 · 24/08/2017 11:40

I've just looked at the menu for tonight's dinner. Either going for haloumi and roasted veg wrap, Thai crab cake wrap, or an Aussie burger (bread, fried egg, pineapple, beetroot, burger, bacon, cheese, bread) or maybe chicken goujons. Hmmmm. Choices.

100yearsdotcom · 24/08/2017 11:51

Sorry the job thing went the way it did life, that whole process sounds absolutely awful!

Awesome results need DD!

Really glad DD is being allowed melatonin cag, hope it leads to peaceful nights for you all.

Em, I think I will probably try Facebook selling pages, just need to work out what it means for my privacy settings. We also do the cards/gifts from cats even for mother's/father's day

WreckTangled · 24/08/2017 11:53

Welcome lily

The Coat I got in the charity shop is £60 in mountain warehouse! Bargains.

ememem84 · 24/08/2017 12:50

Just had my eyebrows threaded. Holy mother of fuck that hurt. Remind me if I ever get pregnant again to ignore any sort of grooming which involves ripping hair out. Technically free though. As I've already paid for a years worth of treatments (pretty sure I paid £120 for the year instead of £18 a go).

Also spent £28 in jojo on dribble bandanas, and sock thingies to keep socks on (recommended by friends)

And £32 in oasis on two tops for me. In my usual size. For after baby. They're just plain (one burgandy one khaki) but will be useful for work, casual etc. If they don't fit, I have 28 days for a refund or can return to store (in dept store) for a store voucher.

WreckTangled · 24/08/2017 12:59

Oh yes sock ons are good. Also worth noting that H&M do unisex (and usually boys but can't see any right now) tights. I used to put tights on ds. He was born end of November and it was the last time we had loads of snow.

ememem84 · 24/08/2017 14:04

Aw H&M. I've heard so many good things about their kids stuff. Sadly for kids/baby clothes unless I visit the "mainland uk" I'm limited to: jojo, George, m&s, next, mothercare, boots, joules and a couple of other expensive boutiques. H&M also won't deliver here. Sigh.

Dm is in France at present and is trawling the cute french shops for le clothes for le grandson. Le cute!!! Le boy is going to be beaucoup le spoiled.
