Thanks lonely that's the kind of feedback I was after. My teeth are ok ish. A bit wonky (due to my own stubborn fault for having train tracks at 14 then not wearing the retainer...) but ok ish.

I want them to be straight. I also want to change dentist. Was going to do it this year but haven't yet as new dentist (who offers Invisalign) requires full check up plus X-rays at initial appointment. I'm sure it's fine to have this while preg but don't want to risk it. Especially if I need work.

It can wait a few more weeks. Will speak to them and see what they say.
Dh is on board with it if I'm happy (happy wife = happy life)

ChristmasSeacow · 16/08/2017 23:41

I have been very tempted by Invisalign too Em. My crooked teeth are one of my big regrets - I had a removable brace in my teens but the orthodontist did a crap job and I still have an overlap near the front. I am not sure Invisalign would work for me though as my starting position is so bad. I agree Lonely, it's one of my mum stipulations too, although I may have to see how the land lies with DS (ASD). I might have to choose my battles there!

Are your eyes green Wreck? I'd love green eyes.

Sleep is still almost non-existent. DD is miserable today from jabs but I do wonder whether she'll actually sleep better with a temperature - we'll see! We are still having to hold her constantly. Tonight I made dinner twice so we could take turns to eat it fresh and hot (pan fried sea bass, spinach and a thyme and pepper cous cous - since none of this keeps warm well. What was I thinking?!). A bit bloody annoying to completely cook twice. Wet food like chilli will be on the menu from now on until DD is put-downable!

Only two more whole weeks till our holiday. I think DH is apprehensive as he is tired but knows he'll probably get less sleep and time to himself when on leave than when working. Ha!

On the very plus side DS has been brilliant with toilet training. He was physically ready for a while i think, but the battle was psychological. Only one accident so far this week!

Mum coming tomorrow for company and moral support. My mum is brilliant and DS loves her to bits.

Must sleep... DH has an annoying cough though. I am not sympathetic because he is refusing to go to the doctor Angry

ChristmasSeacow · 17/08/2017 00:27

Awake again! 34 whole minutes Angry

needastrongone · 17/08/2017 06:04

Thanks for the thoughts on DD's A Level. All useful, however uneducated or long ago the experience Grin. She can mull it over. She's no idea what she wants to do, but I think that's normal and okay. She's 16. Her brother is more unusual in this regard. I think both would be interesting.

Ha laska, I've browsed the Hush collection, if I bought anything I would go with the same choice as Em, in green as I have the burgundy skirt. So versatile and their strongest point I think, jersey. Em, also the right type of fabric post baby too for youSmile

Oh seacow, I've no advice to offer but tons of sympathy. Did the GP offer any suggestions?

Forest fires are raging here. I had a smokey early run. Smile

needastrongone · 17/08/2017 06:08

Lovely to see you post a bit Adora, hope all okay with you.

Creme, no harm in your DS having an idea at this stage though re A Levels.

It's AS results day today. DS's will be on the doorstep when he returns for holiday..........he doesn't seem too fussed, he knows he's done okay in one but had an almighty fuck up in another, which he can retake.

needastrongone · 17/08/2017 06:11

Amitriptiline can make you drowsy laska, but can work quit quickly I think. It's been one of the many things they've tried for my back over the years. My doctor friends said if to me to ask for gabapentin if this doesn't work. It's more expensive, but more effective sometimes.

needastrongone · 17/08/2017 06:16

love, I'm the same re teeth. I stupidly feel I've won a little mental battle I that I've got my DC to 18 ( next month) and 16 and neither of them have ever had work done of any kind. My teeth are crooked on the bottom and I don't like them very much at all. DD has the most astonishing, white, straight teeth you ever did see. She takes good care of them, but got lucky with nature too for sure. Luck of the draw, but I'll take some (unmerited) parental kudos anywayGrinGrin

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/08/2017 06:25

BrewCake seacow . This is such a tough time. Maybe when DS starts school you can get some naps for yourself in?

Good luck to frugaleer DC who are getting AS and A levels results today

Will post later. I need to create a spreadsheet and instructions on my way to work this morning

needastrongone · 17/08/2017 06:27

Apologies, I meant lonely.

ememem84 · 17/08/2017 07:22

Next on my must have for winter purchases is a pair of brown/tan knee high boots. I still have my old ones, which have been worn almost to death and are scuffed to hell. So will polish these up and see how we go for the meantime.

I caved last week and ordered maternity leggings. I hate leggings. But am all about the comfort. Just one pair though.

34 weeks today! Baby boy is now the size of a Savoy cabbage. Or a Quokka.

ememem84 · 17/08/2017 07:22

I've sent an email to new potential dentist asking how to transfer and for more info re Invisalign.

WreckTangled · 17/08/2017 07:39

Em do it. I hate my teeth but it would be £3000 and I would need two teeth removed Sad

Seacow yes I have green eyes. Both dc are fair with blue eyes like their dad.

Girlie your poor dd's friend. I can imagine my dd being like that and I would be so grateful to you.

adora pleased you're back!

Laska I fine amitriptyline works really well I've used it on and off for years.

Em I want new leather boots too. I live in them in the winter. I would quite like leather uggs.

Today we are going to the beach with bikes and a picnic. I'll park down a side street so I don't have to pay parking. Sold stuff on eBay for £66! Annoyingly waiting for one person to pay still Angry

needastrongone · 17/08/2017 07:41

I'll go with the cabbage, cos I've no idea what the other one isSmile

Em, did you see the Hush ruched skirt called the Pamplona. It's black and has sort of a frill of material. I might be tempted for that with discount and cash back as I get tons of wear from the ruched skirts and that's a bit different.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/08/2017 07:49

I've just had to google what a quokka is - cute!

Thanks for the sympathy - my eye begs appreciate it! Need you wanted to reach into the screen and take DD for a bit... I'm willing to share! She really is very gorgeous though, and worth the trouble. She's at a very cute stage now where she can hold her head up so likes to stare around lot with her lemur eyes, and bopping her head about. Seeing her peeking over DH's shoulder is so cute.

I am thinking of trying her on 'comfort' formula which is easier to digest and designed for colicky babies. I'd have tried it before now but have only just found out of its existence! So that might require a trip to the big Tesco. No doubt I will not stick to the list Blush

Need it must be quite rare to have naturally straight teeth? Lucky DD!

Good luck to all the exam result people today.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/08/2017 07:52

Oh, my JO superfood book arrived but I have had to hide it from DS, who took a shine to it. He fixates on certain books and once that happens I lose them for good! So I haven't managed to read it yet. That's a job for today before I finish the Ocado shop. Along with lots of other jobs - I need to be productive with mum here, to make the most if it. Feeling motivated!

ememem84 · 17/08/2017 08:01

need this is a quokka. So. Cute!!!!

I'm up and dressed. Have today and tomorrow off work. Yay. Today catface and I are going to the vet. She needs her boosters. (So probably spendy) and then I'm dropping her off at home and going to visit a nursery.

Have about 20 minutes until I have to stuff catface into her box.

The Friendly Frugaleers, watching the pennies as we wait for sunshine!
ememem84 · 17/08/2017 08:15

Also need I've just checked out the Pamplona skirt. It's cute! But I'm not sure I could pull it off. if it gets dramatically reduced in the sale however I could be tempted

Rain here today. So have put the boots on. Sigh. Dh had to help me with socks. #newlow

I've just put some toast on and am looking at yesterday's post. In the last year (Aug to Aug) I've spent £4K on my credit card. I'm sure last years figures were something like £11k. so that's a dramatic reduction in my spending. #smug

SnugglySnerd · 17/08/2017 09:40

Sympathy to Seacow. Sleep deprivation is just the worst.

Had forgotten it's A level results day. Good luck to anyone whose dcs collect them today. That means one week until my lovely yr11s get their GCSE results. I always get nervous for them.

Babies are napping and DD1 is flinging sand and water about in the garden so I'm having a sneaky sit down with a coffee while I have the chance! The sun has come out so hopefully it'll dry up enough to go to the park later. I've optimistically put the washing out.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/08/2017 09:53

Here is an extra strong Brew for you Seacow I don't know how any of you mums with babies/ young kids do it! I need a good 9 hours a night these days just to function Blush

Have just spent £30 on Amazon, my first Amazon spend for a while and have got bits that are hopefully going to make bargain gifts with! My plan is to make up pamper boxes/ bags as gifts, will fill them with small treats, nail vanish, face packs, chocolate etc reckon I can do them for about £10 or less each and they should be a nice gift for step mum, friends etc.

Also bought myself a thumb support as for some reason my thumb has been hurting for ages, I have been ignoring it in the hope it would go away but doesn't really seem to be getting any better! Very annoying, hopefully it just needs some support and rest.

Any of you with 10-11yo dds know what you are getting them for Christmas yet? Am totally stumped this year, she mentioned wanting a denim jacket so that will be one thing but otherwise am struggling.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/08/2017 10:13

My dd turns 10 later this year and I have no idea for birthday or Christmas.

SnugglySnerd · 17/08/2017 10:17

Now it's absolutely chucking it down. Bollocks.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/08/2017 10:18

Couldn't change my interview, should be reading up.

Nice pram.
Em comfort all the way these days.
I'm wearing the blue skirt. It looks better with a tan as it's a bit short on my stumps

LonelyOversharer · 17/08/2017 11:07

11yo's are a nightmare! Once they have a phone and a tablet, big pressies are awful to sort out! Poor dd2 got so much craft stuff for her birthday. A series of books are good. Ditto clothes if they're into that. Sadly dd2 lives in yoga pants and grown ups t shirts!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/08/2017 11:46

Yeah thats what I am finding Lonely she is too old for toys although is currently playing with her playmobil that said she would probably still like some lego, has suddenly got more interested in clothes so thats def something i'll get her. She has lots of books waiting to be read on her shelf so not sure will get her many more, she likes smellies so will get some for stocking fillers.... its such a tricky age!!

ememem84 · 17/08/2017 12:08

Nursery was very overwhelming. £1200 a month for 4 days a week. No pro rats for any holidays we have off work (though I think this is normal). Chef on site, ratios were good. Location convenient. They are very much let kids be kids and let them get messy etc.

A couple more to look at then we'll make a decision.
