Mine didn't either Em i know someone whose went completely flat - that looked weird!!

Spent £20 in Go Outdoors on a camping kettle and coat for dd, annoyingly my loyalty card had expired so I had to renew which was £5. Work was full on again, am knackered but really happy to have a couple of days off now, going to see dd and my mum tomos in their caravan!!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/07/2017 17:52

Haha cross post with Wreck hope I haven't offended your belly button!!

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 17:56

How rude of him wreck he should be offering to go instead of you IMHO, DH automatically does that if he's off to give me a break. And you normally have to do it after a day at work FFS. Angry It annoys me when men see this stuff as wifework

WreckTangled · 31/07/2017 18:00

Girlie you have offended my belly button SadGrin

I know cag that's what I think too! Plus surely he should want to watch his son swimming.

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/07/2017 19:13

Em the maternity pad thing is not really glamorous, but it only lasts a tiny wee while and then it's all done. Quite soon you're back to normal ones, then nothing for months. My belly button sort of shed its skin after ds was born and then pinged back to its normal shape. Weird.

Ds is getting really professional about hair washing since we started swimming. Brilliant!

ememem84 · 31/07/2017 19:21

Waaaa belly buttons are so bizarre. Maternity pants are also bizarre. I'm so glad they're temporary!

I'm going to have to seriously start thinking about hospital bags etc.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 19:35

I am already writing a list for mine. Definitely taking my own painkillers (rounds were sparse and they were happy for me to just take my own paracetamol but that may vary by hospital)

Energy drinks/cereal bars/sweets etc (sounds like your healthcare system is a lot better TBF but food was immensely lacking in some wards)

Fibre rich foods. Trust me. :o

Also for when you're home just remembered a product that really helped me so I will try and buy again. You know those gel packs you can freeze and they help with pain? I got some in boots that you put a little cover on and put in your knickers :o really really helped with stitches pain etc.

Pregnancy is so fucking glamourous.

WreckTangled · 31/07/2017 20:01

My top tip if you have a vaginal delivery is to double up on maternity pads the first time you use them. One at the front and one at the back halfway overlapped. Gives extra protection and extra cushioning! Nothing beats the good old nhs ones imo Grin

Coppersulphate · 31/07/2017 20:01

Yes, Cag and Em, pregnancy is glamorous. But at least you get a nice little baby at the end.
NSD, still at conference.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 20:02

That's a good one wreck

I'm trying to find the product I described in my previous post but can't see them. But I don't know what to put as the search term... foof pain relief?! 😂

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 20:03

'Tis true, it's all worth it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2017 20:44

Female ice pack or perianal ice pack. Is that what you mean?
Badedas bubble bath. Omg. I didn't believe it a bubble bath could be so lush.
Paper knickers, so glam, so useful.

Probably spent £30 today on DC and £25 on food. Tomorrow will be nsd except gym money £4 ish

CremeEggThief · 31/07/2017 20:51

£4.30 bus back from Pilates.

ememem84 · 31/07/2017 20:56

cag yes - fanny chillers! I've been told about them. Will get some.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 20:59

Fanny chillers 😂😂😂

Thanks life I searched that on Amazon and have put it on my wishlist to remind me. Although the pack I had was definitely not as expensive 😱

FridgeCut · 31/07/2017 21:11

Can you not freeze condoms with water and then wrap in a flannel? I got some nice mricrofibre flannels from poundland that would be good.

WreckTangled · 31/07/2017 21:18

You can use a latex glove and put water into the fingers then freeze.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 21:20

That's some interesting images I'm getting there 😳😂

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2017 21:24

£2 tweezers

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 21:25

Sorry I'm being very immature today :o

Must say something grown up and sensible.

NSD.

FridgeCut · 31/07/2017 21:26
Easter Smile

NSD also

LonelyOversharer · 31/07/2017 21:39

Wish I'd known about things that cool you off down there when there's stitches! I was on fire for a long time. So glam. Yes to taking as many nhs pads as you can! I was so unprepared for dd1 I had no idea I'd bleed (for a month) afterwards. As a c-section I assumed they'd take all the gooey stuff out how I laugh at myself now

My belly button went flat four times now the poor thing has had it. The kindest description is "a granny's bum". More than enough said.

We went to ikea (£203) and Costco (£134 + £18 tea) I feel pleasantly spent up. Bought a tv stand thing to keep my work on £105 and the rest was bits of plastic crap (fish ice cube tray!) and lights for the dc's. Half the costco was for the shop, so will recoup that. Didn't make the beach, will try again at the weekend weather permitting.

mammymammyIRL · 31/07/2017 21:40

Witch hazel mixed in a squirty bottle & squirt as you pee so wee doesn't sting plus it helps heal down there super fast. My mother couldn't understand how I was able to sit any which way I wanted after having dd & stitches but I think it was the witch hazel Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/07/2017 21:44

Grin Grin Grin you lot!!

A spendy evening, spent £30 in Halfords on camping gear got 2 camping chairs, a camping toaster thingy, a cup, a light and a stove for this though!

Spent another £30 in Sainsburys on cat food, cat litter, chocolate and some garden bits that were on offer.

CremeEggThief · 31/07/2017 21:49

I have that fish ice cube tray, Lonely!

Goodness me, I'm, em, er, enlightened, reading this thread tonight. Never heard about these fanny coolers, shop bought or home made, before!Grin
