Survived another wend working, was really busy as lots of extra visits came in so am struggling to move far from the sofa now! Has meant that I have not spent any money though Halo

Have been looking at camping stuff, Halfords have quite a good sale on so will probably get some gear from there, also found dd a coat in Mountain Ware House sale for £10! Hoping she likes it...

LonelyOversharer · 30/07/2017 20:01

I love mountain warehouse girlie I find their stuff really great quality for the price (got myself a jacket there last week). Got ds a back to school coat too.

Dd2 will need to walk up to the primary school car park in Sept, along with about 100 other kids, it's like a mass exodus, but I'm wibbling about this. Even though she's much more sensible than dd1 (who still wonders off). Primary age - not a chance! Luckily I still have a younger dc so can pick dd3 up as well with no protest from her.

We might go over to the beach/costco/ikea tomorrow, weather depending. So spendy spendy or £16 swimming. Am half way through the freezer audit. Four packs of chicken found already.

Popped to the coop for loo roll, and yes, chicken for tea. Southern fried (homemade) with chips. I do love my deep fat fryer!

Loveabaconsandwich · 30/07/2017 20:06

I was a bit Hmm and a bit why? when we were given a wrapmaster (along with the time we were given food umbrellas) as Christmas gifts. But now they are very used things in our kitchen. I've decided it must be because I am now a grown up. Think DP got our refill for the wrapmaster from eBay

I appear to have had too much fresh air today so will soon be asleep

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/07/2017 20:07

The stranger definition thing is really hard. We tried to do this with the Beavers recently and got tied in knots very quickly.

My favourite, years ago, was a friend's mother who waved her kid off to University in a different city and said "Don't talk to anyone you don't know".

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/07/2017 20:22

NSD.

Cagliostro · 30/07/2017 21:55

Need to get DD some socks in bigger sizes so she can wear them at night with moisturiser. The skin on her feet is peeling a bit but she is pulling it off and given that in the past she took so much skin off her fingers that it got infected (she used to bite them when anxious) I've told her it needs to stop! I also discovered a little bald patch where she has been pulling hair out of her head when stressed :( nothing is ever simple with DD

FridgeCut · 30/07/2017 21:57

£30 on fuel, £50 on a pop up beach shelter, £55 on a driving in France kit, all are budgeted for :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/07/2017 22:30

The whole stranger danger thing is weird as statistically (and depressingly) your kids are much more likely to be abused by a family friend or relative. That said I am very nervous about dd gaining more independence when she starts secondary in Sept, eek!

Coppersulphate · 30/07/2017 22:48

Tayto, am at a conference North of Dublin.
Very spendy, bought dinner for two friends I am travelling with and then lunch....but they paid all of my travelling costs, so not complaining.

ememem84 · 30/07/2017 22:55

I want a wrapmaster. Dm is off to Devon tomorrow so may ask her to stop by Lakeland and get me one.

Taytocrisps · 30/07/2017 23:52

I just watched the movie 'The Impossible'. It's about the 2014 tsunami. That was one depressing movie Sad. We didn't set out the watch it. We were flicking around and it was on TV and we kind of got sucked into it.

WreckTangled · 31/07/2017 07:20

I want a wrap master now too!

Girlie yes that's true, although the attempted abductions round here have been strangers. The ones here yesterday came and had a picnic in our play park (we are in the middle of nowhere you turn down a road then another to get to our road which is where the small crap playground is) and then started taking photos of our neighbour truck Hmm when asked about it they said they wanted to buy one like it so took photos. All very dodgy. Unfortunately for them this truck has a camera on it which is rolling constantly.

Anyway today will be spendy need to pick up Ds' bike (£23) and he has swimming later (£24).

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2017 07:23

Lidl are doing a metal cling film & foil dispenser in their next kitchen even. I think you have to manually cut the foil yourself though. It's £3.50.

Cag Try Doublebase gel, rarely fails me. Socks not required.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2017 07:55

I shall have a look at Lidl on Thursday to compare. I won't get to Lakeland until Friday at the earliest

Spendy day. Taking DC to a high ropes place

FridgeCut · 31/07/2017 13:14

Nearly in August :)

We are using YNAB and I am trying to push to budgeting month to month as in 1st - 1st instead of pay day, just for ease of using the software. DS is moaning we don't have any baked beans, well the grocery budget is done so he will have to eat sweetcorn till Thursday.

ememem84 · 31/07/2017 13:16

£55 in boots with £7.50 points back on clarins. For dhs birthday.

I thought they were doing a buy two things get a summer travel thing free but that's only in our department stores here. Not boots. Points are probably more valuable.

They didn't have any preggo vitamins though so will have to stop by the other store on way home to get some. Sigh.

Taytocrisps · 31/07/2017 14:28

Did another bout of clearing the play room with DD. It's starting to take shape now. Another two weeks (two areas of the room) and then we can start to paint it. We do about an hour a week which is long enough to get a sizeable chunk done and short enough that I can fit it in with work and normal housework. Sorry if I'm boring you with all this talk of sorting and cleaning. I should probably join a Marie Kondo thread or something although from what I've read, her methods wouldn't suit me. Little and often seems to be working well.

I've a delivery coming from Tesco (€109.22 plus delivery charge of €5). It's a two week shop but I don't need two weeks worth of dinners as we'll be away this weekend (bank holiday weekend in Ireland), so I stocked up a lot on dry goods with a long shelf life. I'm running down the freezer in anticipation of getting a new one and I'm not buying much veg. because of the issue with the fridge freezing everything. If/when we get a new frige, I'll re-stock the freezer.

Laska I read a fiction book recently about a woman who ditches her job, buys a camper van and heads off around the UK. I was thinking of you.

WreckTangled · 31/07/2017 15:11

I've been having a clear out too. Dd has quite a few clothes she's outgrown. I really want to give them to my friend for her dd but at the same time some of it is joules etc and so I want to sell it Blush

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 15:22

Cheers fluffy I'll look out for that. I think if we can heal it enough to not peel then she will move on from it IYSWIM, she is just such a compulsive kid that she can't help it.

Unexpected NSD. Was supposed to see consultant today and I was going to cancel the double booking made for Wednesday, but decided to switch it as I am still full of cough, epic headache and DS is being a complete little git today frankly so I can't face it. Wednesday is an earlier appt so I should be able to go on my own.

Would've probably ended up spending on food etc as well but now I've got pasta sauce out of the freezer instead. It's the one I made a big batch of and unfortunately I got a bit cocky with the lentils (now that is a weird sentence) and they aren't keen, so I'll turn it into a pasta bake instead with lots of cheese on top.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 15:23

Nowt wrong with wanting to sell it wreck you can always pass it on to her if for some reason it doesn't sell.

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/07/2017 16:28

Laska It would be a move from north UK to south, which is culturally a big change and also price-wise. The have two weeks holiday here and are house hunting so time is a bit short. I've been secretly house hunting for them for about ten years though, so I've narrowed the field essentially to three houses currently on the market, which helps.

ememem84 · 31/07/2017 17:38

Phew. Today is done. S'cuse my language but I've had to deal with an inordinate amount of fuckwits today.

Stopped by the smaller boots on way back to the car. Vitamins on a threefa and also bought maternity pads. I saw them and figured I'll need them so may as well. Bought boots own brand ones. In gigantic and also skinny pad.

Random pregnancy question. Did any of your belly buttons pop out?? This is the bit that's freaking me out the most. eugh.

Feeling tired today.

Sausages sweet potato fries and salad for dinner. With a side order of game of thrones. Yippee!!!!

Cagliostro · 31/07/2017 17:42

Mine never did pop em

Taytocrisps · 31/07/2017 17:49

Mine did em

WreckTangled · 31/07/2017 17:50

Em mine never popped out with either just went kind of flat.

Dh is being a dick. He's home from work so I asked if he was coming swimming (to watch ds' lesson and give me a hand) but he said no as he doesn't really feel like it after working all day. As if I feel like taking dd to her lessons once a week straight after work and ds every other week straight after work. Ffs so selfish. And I've cleaned and hoovered the whole kitchen after dinner so he doesn't have anything to do. It's not like I'm asking him to take him just to come along as ds would love it and it helps me out.
