Creme we could do it in a year.

Just received a cake from mumsnet insight but it's all melted and lopsided Hmm I'll still enjoy eating it though....

WreckTangled · 03/07/2017 16:19

Meant to say a year for the deposit but another year for the money needed for fees etc and that's only if our loan was paid off

LonelyOversharer · 03/07/2017 16:25

Spendy today. £26 in the garden centre I really like on 2 clematis and a virginia creeper (the outside of our house is painted an awful florescent cream colour, so am covering it, top half sorted with a creeper I planted 8 years ago, but need to sort the downstairsy bit).

£5.50 on a charity shop jacket for dd1 for textiles, £5.40 on 2 really nice Costa's, and £20 in the coop. Plus £30 fuel (the right sort) for my little car.

So I cleared a bit of the front garden and planted my new plants up. Dd2 had changeover day to big school, she had a good day! phew

Am having a lot of Costa at the moment. As I'm still not eating over 1400cals a day (9st 3lb now) it's a treat without being lunch. Still could do without it though frugally wise. Must do more exercise than cycling soon. I'm beginning to look like a deflated balloon not that anyone looks Not a single solitary person has commented that I've lost a stone and a half since april. Is it unacceptable these days to mention it, or am I, as I suspect, invisible?

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2017 16:58

Probably the former lonely, unless people know you well they tend not to comment on weight.

MeadowHay · 03/07/2017 16:59

Lonely I think people are just generally less perceptive than we think they are. I mean, I don't think I usually notice when people lose weight. Actually I think I only notice if they've put it on quickly, but I don't seem to notice if people have lost it, not sure what that says about me Confused ! I never notice things like that about people as I'm too busy worrying about my own personal hangups and worrying about people noticing them - but I suspect really people don't notice them either. We all only really notice ourselves I think! But congrats on the weight loss anyway!

Now I'm back from the shop I can update my spends for today which was just about £8 in the local supermarket on groceries and then £3 in charity shop on a secondhand book as a reward for managing the shop Grin.

WreckTangled · 03/07/2017 17:04

I think if it's people you see regularly then they may not have noticed. I always feel a bit awkward saying to people 'wow you've lost weight!' To me it's a the same as saying 'you were fat last time I saw you' Grin I'm an over thinker though.

£485 to the childminder

100yearsdotcom · 03/07/2017 17:20

Sorry I've not been keeping up with the thread, hope everyone is OK. We were away with family over the weekend and quite poorly today so the good thing is it means NSD! No spends over the weekend except for a present.

LonelyOversharer · 03/07/2017 17:42

Wow wreck that seems a lot. Is ds in full time school yet (so will it go down in september)? Or is this just before/after school care?

WreckTangled · 03/07/2017 17:48

Ds starts school in September so will be greatly reduced! This is before and after school for both dc on three days, after school on one and two full days for ds.

needastrongone · 03/07/2017 17:54

Evening all.

Lonely. I've lost a stone since taking up running again, but was quite small anyway, so that's quite a lot of my body Grin. The only time folk comment is when I'm in my kit and with running folk, as the loss is clearly due to training and no underlying issues. I always wonder what to say to folk, if you say 'wow you look fab' it's almost like saying they looked shit previously. Think it's a bit of folk being sensitive.

Good luck with the move Holly.

I've only skim read and the weekend was busy with the competition etc and I've worked all day, sorted the pony with DD and now off for a run.

Made lasagne for tea. Tomorrow will be veggie enchiladas, I've got no further than that but not working tomorrow so will plan then.

I've resolved to split my spends into categories too, and also withdraw some cash and track that.

NSD.

Coppersulphate · 03/07/2017 18:15

Holly hope the move goes well. Why they have to be so stressful I will never know.
Hope he gets the job meadow.
Mummy, I am tired even thinking about it now although I used to go to the gym everyday.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2017 18:29

Damn lost a big post my own fault for getting I needed internet but in short, no Tesco baby shopping as my consultant was running 90 minutes late Shock - good appointment though as referred back to cardiology so may get some help there. Also Caglets were superbly behaved considering the wait, the noise etc. We grabbed an ice cream after but now home for jacket potatoes. :)

ememem84 · 03/07/2017 18:37

Home from work. Absolutely exhausted today.

Am also hurting a bit. Think maybe I overdid it at riding on Saturday. Poor legs are knackered.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2017 18:52

Oh ffs we're never going to find out caglets gender. Might as well wait for the birth at this rate Grin

Cagliostro · 03/07/2017 18:58

Haha! No that's on Wednesday, there is still hope! :o This was just the consultant.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/07/2017 19:14

Wreck if I can do it re a shared ownership, anyone can! It might be worth getting some advice from a financial advisor, the advice I had was really good.

Had an o.kay rest of the day, nice lunch with colleagues to say goodbye to one of them going off on mat leave cost £6.95. Unfortunately came home to find the dog had done two stinking poo's on my lovely cream carpets Angry was not impressed!! Spoke to my dad who was very apologetic and said would try to come and get him tomorrow, they are away at a festival in Sussex. No idea why the dog is doing it, not usual for him at all Hmm

Have done a bit of gardening, beautiful weather and all my flowers look lovely Smile

mammymammyIRL · 03/07/2017 19:18

Lonely neither of the other two takeaways took card payment before so we very rarely have Takeaway as it needs so much planning, nearest cashpoint 13 miles away (this has also changed - there's one on way home from work nowGrin)
I prefer food home cooked anyhow

Lonely that's a novel way of mixing your drinks!! Never heard of anyone doing that.

This evening €40.80 in butchers included €10 on a big bag of local potatoes & meat for about 10 dinners. I never feel our shopping is complete until we've meat in Grinyummy beef stir fry with ready to wok noodles on menu for tonight. Le yum Smile

Has anyone any experience of Richie Howey fitness? He works based on macros in food - basically anything goes as long as it's in your macros but you work out quickly what gives you better value.

Waitress school uniform tips - Aldi is great, littlewoods do multipacks of tshirts, buy trousers in a multipack - take one up with wundaweb & tighten in adjustable waist & leave other one for inevitable growth spurt during year.
My experience is limited to one dd for two years in school. Uniform is kept in a drawer in sitting room as it saves going back upstairs for it in the morning. Our school is uniform mon wed fri & tracksuit tues & thurs so nothing wears out & no need for doubles for dd anyhow Grin

Well done snuggly on low spend weekend

Wreck I'll shake your hand regarding having lots on & not wanting to tell dh about a weekend at my parents, he wants to do something else that weekend but my parents are going away all of August so I want to visit them & my school friends are having a catch up, trip to London sounds fab

Holly how's the packing going?

Wreck how much is your rent currently? Could you afford to put the difference between that & your expected mortgage payment against your debt & then when that's clear into savings & by the time you've the money saved you'll be used to the bigger bill

Does £90 cover much girlie? Does your childminder bill go up much while dd is off school?

Wow mummy you're getting use out of your gym membership!

Wow creme were you lonesome after your last place?
Hi meadow well done on getting to charity shop for your book as planned
*

Lonely* you're doing your weight loss for you not for anyone else so once you're happy that's all that matters - people take time to catch up & take notice of weight loss.

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/07/2017 19:45

holly you come across as remarkably chilled for someone who may or may not be moving this week. What's your secret?

the waitresses I do agree that pastries should be a necessity for train journeys before 7am. But I do these trips 3 times a week so my bank balance doesn't agree.

Sorry copper I'm a bad influence

lonely if we saw you in real life I'm sure we'd all comment nice things. Have you got any strategically taken photos before and after photos you can show us not to out yourself? I assume your DP has noticed and said nice things? If not Angry

Good luck meadow DH, he sounds like a hard worker so fingers crossed

My work trousers were feeling loose today even with a belt. No real dieting done but I haven't had a subway or McDonald's for a good six weeks so maybe that's why plus extra walking to the station.

If I still have days off when both DC are at school I would love to join the gym. Need, mummy and Holly put me to shame with their exercising. Hard to work out when to fit it in at the moment which I know is the worst excuse ever!

CremeEggThief · 03/07/2017 19:53

Two years is do-able, Wreck. You can do this!Smile

Holly, if you're anywhere near me (County Durham), I have 20 packing boxes you're welcome to. Good luck with your move!

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2017 20:34

Combat done. It doesn't half focus the mind when you see your flab wobbling in the mirror when you jump Grin

Mummysh0rtlegs · 03/07/2017 21:04

Life - I have just done combat too, my gym has no mirrors and keeps the studios dark. I love it! I then went to spinning and it is in front of a cinema screen, I pull some right faces so I am glad not to see it!

Combat was a killer tonight, I haven't been for a month or so.

mammymammyIRL · 03/07/2017 21:09

We got told to jump as high as we could this morning - my feet barely left the ground Grin

SnugglySnerd · 03/07/2017 21:11

Bloody he'll our water bill has doubled. I assume it's a combo of being at home full time so using the loo, kettle etc more and having bottles to wash several times a day and the washing machine running all the time. Bloody water meter!

ememem84 · 03/07/2017 21:29

Refund from asos £25. Hoorah!

Made enough lunches for the next 2 days. Dh bought soy mince Hmm for dinner and actually turned it into a rather good pasta sauce. So we've achieved a non intentional no meat Monday.

mammymammyIRL · 03/07/2017 21:34

Lucky our water isn't metered as shower has been leaking for about a month - fills a basin in ten minutes.
If dh would only tell me name of part I would go online & buy it. We're without working taps in our ensuite for same reason - plumbing isn't his thing but he can't admit it & just hire somebody Angry
