Hi all, aww all the tiny baby clothes!! Dd was a tiny baby as she was 3 weeks early and all the clothes I had for her were massive Grin remember sending my mum out on a mad dash for smaller clothes!!

Had another busy day here with work, think have managed a NSD though Halo

HollyTheHarrier · 02/07/2017 22:11

waitress I'm impressed with how well you've allocated spending. Knowing where your money goes must be a huge step towards spending less. I also fritter money on convenience food. I need to take a leaf out of your book to figure out why and where it goes.

wreck definitely explore the degree option and see if it would work for you. Sounds like it could be a great opportunity, especially if it widens/improves your career options. Combining work with study is hard (I did professional exams...a million times easier than my degree in terms of content, much harder balancing different commitments). But if it's the right opportunity for you then it will be worth it.

Busy weekend away at a hen party. Spent £4 on coffees on the way back as I was nearly falling asleep, and £40 on petrol. No other spends this weekend, and I had a lovely time.

Still hoping to move this week. Eek. So much to do...

Cagliostro · 02/07/2017 22:28

Hope your mum continues feeling better audit :)

Consultant tomorrow so will need to go out but otherwise quiet day planned

Cagliostro · 02/07/2017 22:29

Eeeek at moving! Best of luck!

WreckTangled · 03/07/2017 06:24

Eugh. I hardly got any sleep because ds ended up in our bed and he would stop coughing or playing with his willy Hmm seriously it's ridiculous he just jumps the bed/sofa/floor for hours.

Dh and I now earn enough for a part rent part buy. We need to pay of our load and save about £8k though...and even then the rent plus mortgage would be about £1k a month. Maybe I'm living in a dream world...

Ds has swimming later so that's £24 otherwise not planning any spends. Hoping I might get my car back tonight

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/07/2017 06:48

I don't think it sounds like an impossible dream wreck .Just lots of frugaleering to be done Smile

Three weeks until the school holidays start! I have the first week off so can start counting down the days. It also means 6.5 weeks of not having to pay the childminder. We may have more savings money to spend .

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/07/2017 06:49

I just bought a pain au raisin as had 20 mins to wait for the train Blush

ememem84 · 03/07/2017 07:07

Dh just woke me up. Apparently I was shouting and screaming in my sleep. Oopsy. Can't remember why though.

WreckTangled · 03/07/2017 07:12

I've just cut a hole in my brand new top trying to cut out the stupid hanging loop Angry

thewaitresses · 03/07/2017 07:22

Love being at the train station before 7am deserves fresh pastries!

Wreck you have a goal - go for it! How long do you rent for before it becomes more 'buy'? And are there properties around where you live?

Em weird pregnancy sleeping and dreaming is exhausting!

Cag have you tried any Joe Wicks recipes - the Lean in 15 guy? His recipes are super quick, fairly easy to prep and are pretty fail safe. The portions are huge as they're meant for active gym-goers Confused so we often stretch a recipe by adding a side of green veg or salad.

WreckTangled · 03/07/2017 07:33

Waitress it's not rent to buy its part rent part buy so we would buy a percentage immediately and pay rent on the remainder. There are some near us which look lovely but we can't afford it right now so they'll no doubt be gone soon.

thewaitresses · 03/07/2017 07:42

Sounds like a good deal! It must be hard in a rural area to find the right property at the right time.

SnugglySnerd · 03/07/2017 08:29

Wreck that's so annoying. Apart from strapless ball gowns or wedding dresses I fail to see why clothes need hanging loops. Waste of time.

I need to return more bras and buy a stamp today but that needs to be it. No coffees or other treats while I'm out!

Cag our twins were a bit small especially DD and she wore the up to one month things for a few weeks. 0-3 months was too big for ages, fitted for about 3 weeks and was then too small. Different shops are different though. Next and Sainsbury's stuff comes up quite big but Asda quite small. I find the same to be true of toddler sizes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2017 08:55

Holly Eek! Best of luck. Is this your forever home?.

Wreck I remember when you thought you didn't stand a chance of ever owning. More houses will be built & if the housing market does crash your wages will go further. You won't always have childcare bills either.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2017 09:41

I will look at those recipes thank you! Hoping that I can get into a bit more cooking once summer holidays start (i.e. Less rushing about especially at dinner time).

DD in a foul mood already. Today is going to be a hoot Hmm

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/07/2017 10:36

Morning all, lovely day off today Smile although its clouded over annoyingly as have lots of washing to get dry!

Just written out a cheque for £90 for dds holiday club which actually isn't bad for as that is all I'm paying for over the whole 6 weeks. Does mean this month will be tight though will be a month of only buying food, essentials and petrol I think!!

That said am meeting colleagues for lunch today as one of the girls is going off on mat leave, will aim to only have tea and cake though!!

Coppersulphate · 03/07/2017 11:30

Bacon, I have just had to go out and buy a pain au raisin and I blame you . But I just love them.
Had a lovely day yesterday. Village duck race for charity. £2 on ducks and £1.50 on lemonade.

Jolly japes in July (only if they are frugal)...!
ememem84 · 03/07/2017 12:54

Nsd £55 in jojo maman and mothercare on various items of baby boy clothing hooray for sale time

I blame the rain.

SnugglySnerd · 03/07/2017 13:11

I didn't quite stick to my plan to only buy a stamp. I went to drop off a bag at the charity shop and found 2 lovely t shirts for DS £1.49 each. They look brand new. I love finding a good charity shop bargain.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 03/07/2017 13:24

Really not a NSD.

£30 on new gym bra, gym top and trousers in TK Maxx. I bought some gym trousers from everything £5 and they were awful, so needed replacing. i have 8 classes booked this week over 4 days, so they'll get the use.

£35 on a new paddling pool for the boys - last one burst.

£2.50 on incontinence pads, I got loads of bits in boots but these were the only thing I paid for, rest was £17 of boots points.

£24 on batteries for the PIR sensors, I just used our last two batteries this morning so 16 will be lasting for a long while.

Cagliostro · 03/07/2017 14:02

4 classes over 8 days!!! 😱 Wow that's amazing.

Getting ready to go out for hospital appt, might swing by Tesco after. It's a bit out of the way but I'm not particularly inclined to come straight home and also DH found an extra Tesco gift card that may still have money on it. Will have a look at baby clothes and DD needs leggings anyway.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 03/07/2017 14:05

Four spinning class (45 mins) dance aerobics, two body combat (boxing type moves) and one body pump (low weight multiple reps). It is my escape and me time :) Two hours in the gym when I think of Nothing else. Worth £26 a month.

MeadowHay · 03/07/2017 14:14

My God Mummy you are a trooper. I feel like such a lazy slattern Blush Grin !!

Haven't caught up I'm afraid, I have been a mixture of very busy and very tired over the last few days. I should be posting more regularly over these few days though as DH is at work and I will probably be quite bored and lonely as usual. Don't really have any news apart from DH has a job interview in a few weeks for a HCA position at a hospital in Merseyside and it even falls on a day we had planned him to come up to sign contracts for our new place (not that we have a new place yet, but in theory!). So that is good news. I'm pretty confident he will get it as he pretty much always gets jobs once he gets an interview.

Frugal-wise, I need to pop up the road for some groceries like bread and milk but shouldn't spend much. Might pop in charity shop and get myself a book too if I'm not too anxious. I feel pretty ok anxiety-wise today actually so here's hoping.

Wreck The house plan sounds good!

Holly Hope moving goes ok!

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2017 15:50

I'm doing combat tonight mummy. Can't quite get to pump as the times are wrong. Go you.

Nsd today

CremeEggThief · 03/07/2017 16:07

Good going, Mummy.💪

Fingers crossed for your DH, Meadow.

How long do you think it will take to save up your deposit, Wreck? It sounds achievable.

Spends: £2.35 Greggs lunch; £3 bus; £4.29 shop. I cleaned my old house today and handed the keys back.
