Ha! This woman would probably try to bully her way into the role Blush Hmm :o

Ah well. Onto better things eh. I have what matters :) except sleep, I should probably go and get some of that :o

mammymammyIRL · 25/06/2017 01:50

Creme that's super news, less cleaning for you too Grin you can stack the washing machine & dryer too you know!

Was out with dc & dh's dgs also at a parade dd was partaking in, they'd a lovely time & dh rang & suggested we go out tonight €26.50 on drinks Angry unplanned & it was a business night out type event for his hobby so I'm now down money & sleep with little enjoyment Sad

Need I think I wasn't hydrated enough it was 25+ degrees, my friend thinks I carbloaded & my body was trying to digest all that, which is possible because I eat 60/60/60 carbs usually & ate more in the days before race. Or else it was race day anxiety HmmSad.
The terrain is very hilly 9 miles of hills & remaining 4.1 is downhill or flat.
I'm two weeks into 4 week bootcamp now so next month, we'll do the run again without official race being on & booking another for 17th sept which is flat Grin I'm so going to do kick this thing to the kerb.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/06/2017 07:15

Oh yes, forgot about Lidl too. Just over the road.

Nsd planned today. Might do national trust if the weather holds

Cagliostro · 25/06/2017 07:39

Planning lunch out today as we had a nice quiet home day for DD's actual birthday.

Sorry about all my ranting yesterday, and thank you all. I'm annoyed it has taken up so much brain space IYSWIM. But thankfully it was mostly just chatting with friends who get it. DD had an awesome day playing with a neighbour and then family game night with her older siblings coming over - she was not aware what's developed and wasn't full of anxiety yesterday, which is awesome. I'm glad it didn't ruin her birthday. :)

Immensely busy week ahead. Autism assessment, baby scan, family stuff. Not sure we will fit in any home ed 😂

WreckTangled · 25/06/2017 07:39

I'm going spinning in a bit. My friend is picking me up, I might die as I haven't done it for three weeks! Best get dressed

Cagliostro · 25/06/2017 07:49

Oh we are also on a magazine hunt so must remember to try WHS. A friend gave me the money to get DD a subscription to Phoenix comic so I said we would look for the current one in town (also the featured person is Tesla!!!).

Also her subscription to Discovery Box magazine (which I highly recommend) just ran out, and the next issue is all about Malala - DD idolises her (even renamed one of her dolls after her) so I said we'd look for that. Will probably resubscribe (Clubcard vouchers!) but it'll take a while so we might miss that issue.

She's a lucky girl as her honorary grandma sent a subscription to Aquila magazine for her birthday too! It's great as she still finds regular books quite daunting (processing issues we think hence looking into ed psych assessment) but she takes magazines to bed and learns loads from them. I'm quite tempted to look into The Week Junior at some point too.

mammymammyIRL · 25/06/2017 08:08

Hopefully you don't wreck
I've just been out for a short run, last weekend has really knocked my confidence as a runner and getting less than 5 hours sleep & drinking last night won't have helped much either I guess Grin

mammymammyIRL · 25/06/2017 08:09

Cag kids national geographic magazine is good too but maybe it's a bit young for your dd? Happy to scan & email current issue to you if you want to view it?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2017 08:25

Lonely bacon

Yes, basically. Do the betfred offer next, then you'll have enough to join profit accumulator at £18. It gives you full access to the forum.

Then go through all the new customer deals, after you've ploughed through those there's a thread in the general forum called earn a £1k a month. Every day around 11am onwards they display that day's offers.

ememem84 · 25/06/2017 08:34

fluffy I might have a look at matched betting...I'm wary though. But will read through the threads.

That said I put a sneaky bet on the rugby yesterday and got £7.50 back.

cag don't ever feel sorry for ranting. We all need it every now and then. And if I'm honest it's nice to read them sometimes. Makes me feel as though I'm not the only one who goes through "crap stuff"

Today will be nsd. Not planning on doing much. Laundry, change bedding, sort outfits for the week,

May go for a walk too.

LonelyOversharer · 25/06/2017 09:42

life re parking in Carlisle... just beyond the castle is Sainsburys, huge carpark, but if you just need to pay and display, on the road as you pass the Castle on your right, Tulle house on your left, get into the left hand lane, and take the sharp left turn onto what looks like a twee bridge, it's before the traffic lights. That takes you down under the train tracks, and there is a large carpark which is £1 an hour (I think). About 5 minutes walk back up to the Castle. I'd go for Sainsburys and do a bit of shopping to 'pay' for the parking, but I'm guessing it will be really busy with loads of other concert goers doing the same!

Off into the garden, to try to find the garden under the five foot nettles and doc plants that have seemingly grown overnight. Might have to do a tip run too.

Aw thanks em this thread is so great isn't it 🌟💐

Thanks mammy I just remembered I did actually get clubcard vouchers for national geographic kids mag ages ago, they arrived in the post and I never got round to sending them off to get the subscription! 😳😳😳 I am glad to hear it's good, I'm not sure anything is too young for DD at the moment TBH so might be worth a shot!

ememem84 · 25/06/2017 09:58

It is cag I look at it as a nice supportive fluffy cushion of the internets. And also I've saved loads of cash money dollar from being on here. 😀

New tax rate arrived yesterday so as of next month will have an extra £200 to save. I've come such a long way. Years ago I would have had that extra £200 to spend. Now it's being saved... I've changed...!

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/06/2017 10:04

Thanks lonely. Good luck deforesting your garden.

Cagliostro · 25/06/2017 10:14

Yes it feels all safe and nice here :) this and the flylady thread are my lovely internet havens.

Definitely helped me with money too, due to the PIP decision we are now not only out of the overdraft we have actual money. But I'm finding myself less inclined to spend it on stuff, not more. If this had happened a couple of years ago I would be frittering it a lot more. It's nice to be able to find the money for things we actually need (mainly for home ed like maths resources which I can also use with my pupils!) and I am not so keen on spending it on stuff we don't need. Long way to go though!

ememem84 · 25/06/2017 10:22

Absolutely! I've been pinteresting and reading uber frugal blogs this morning. I don't ever want to be one of those scrimp every penny and not live people (also watching extreme cheapskates - million in the bank one guy but wouldn't spend $5 on his wife for their anniversary).

But I'm all for saving for thongs. For a purpose.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 25/06/2017 10:23

things ffs. I'm not saving for permawedgie undies.

WreckTangled · 25/06/2017 10:40

£6.50 spinning. I didn't die but thought I might be sick at one point BlushGrin

Cagliostro · 25/06/2017 10:47

Well done Wreck!

HollyTheHarrier · 25/06/2017 11:37

Hello all. I've been reading but not posting for ages, too caught up trying to deal with house moving shenanigans. My sale is due to complete in less than two weeks but I'm not yet sure where I'm moving to so will probably have to lodge with a friend for a while. Slightly stressful but hey ho. Just made an offer on a place that I would love to get so will see where that ends up, there's loads of interest in it so not holding my breath.

I have little frugal news to report because I've been fairly terrible lately. However I did make £5 profit from a small local race this morning because I came third 😄 Honestly never happens, I think all the speedy runners were doing a different race.

I'm having a pre moving declutter. Today's main job is to clear out the freezer (I'm leaving it behind).

Hope everyone is doing well. Aiming to keep up and interact a bit more from now on.

Loveabaconsandwich · 25/06/2017 11:58

Sat with DDad waiting in a bay at a&e waiting now for a chest x ray. He passed out after chest pains. But he is now trying to be funny so is feeling better and grumbling lots. He's also quite deaf which means there's lots of shouting going on.

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/06/2017 12:21

Em that sounds like my family. Spending money, not really a thing.

Fluffy I know someone who does that matched betting, but he wrote computer programme to do it automatically, so he doesn't even need to do the work. He doesn't have a regular job any more.

ememem84 · 25/06/2017 12:27

just done a shopping list for the week.

Toilet roll
Kitchen paper
Milk.

That's it. We went a bit nuts with food a while ago so have a ton of stuff in the freezer and fridge to use up. 😀

Two and a half hours pulling and chopping. Now I have huge piles of green waste, but can get to the gate without being nettled, which is an improvement. Hungry dc have brought me in. We are going for a swim after food.

I love this thread. That is all.

Shit, Clarks sale cookie just popped up. This will be spendy.
