Cogranulations Seacow on beautiful little Seacalf.

Coppersulphate · 23/06/2017 23:13

Well done Sunny on the dentist and on having the conversation in RL. I know it is hard for you.
And well done to meadow on learning to ride a bike. That's hard as an adult.
Wreck, what a terrible day. So sorry. I had a puncture last Sunday night in the middle of nowhere. I had to flag down a motorist to ask where I was (the proper road was closed so I was following a diversion). Called the AA and they sent a garage fellow out. Changed wheel. £94 for new tyre.
Need your DD will go far in life with that work ethic.

Cagliostro · 23/06/2017 23:22

Girlie I suppose the other boy is celebrating now as his birthday is Christmas Eve or thereabouts. One of DS' friends is a winter baby but they do the party in summer instead as they found people were too busy with Christmas stuff. So assuming he's not going to have another party on his actual birthday I'd treat it as his birthday. If affordable.

Just had an awesome dinner out with some other home ed mums. Happy :)

Cagliostro · 23/06/2017 23:23

Fluffy looks like you've dodged a bullet there! Yes, how very dare you expect to get paid for, erm, working Hmm

LonelyOversharer · 23/06/2017 23:55

meadow what a day!! Well done.

wreck equally well done for getting through today's crap. Hope you can sort the car/curtosey car out tomorrow.

need glad you're back. Your dd rocks! Could do with a feed shop staff discount too.

fluffy have been reading the threads on matched betting. Am going to try it. Have reasoned it that we've wasted £100 so many times (six sheets of plaster board left out in the rain for one example) that if I lose my float then so be it. Is it really ok to do? Am nervous, but signing up tomorrow, when I can have multiple windows open on a big screen.

Spent £50 in tescos, jeans, pants and 2 bras (one half price) for me. Am now the illusive 32C. Small boob bliss. Its worth not eating for! I can't find my belt, and my jeans were falling down on the school run, but tescos belts were all huge or plastic, so I got smaller cheap crop jeans instead! The rest was food. £10 feed shop on ferret food.

I have finished shuffling my credit cards. I now have 18k on 0% for 12-20 months, and just 1.5k that will earn interest. It's the best I can do, and I'm going to pay them down asap.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2017 00:19

Yep, do EXACTLY what profit accumulator tell you to do. Once you've done the two sign up offers you've made enough to pay for full access.

It's safe.

WreckTangled · 24/06/2017 06:43

Meadow that sounds like an awesome day!

Waiting until 9am to start calling people to sort the car. I don't know if I should go through the insurance or not. I don't even know if they'll let me as I've taken it to a Peugeot garage.

Dh started away last night at some buildings awards as one of their houses had been nominated. I don't think they won but just being nominated was an amazing achievement. Hopefully he won't be home too late this morning and the dc might be able to make the party they've been invited to.

WreckTangled · 24/06/2017 06:48

Argh child tax credits keep putting money in my account! I'm so confused Confused

Laska5772 · 24/06/2017 07:13

Hi well im here in sunny Greece. Now that l have a proper phone unlike last year i find it does work here. But just wondered ( as i have always avoided using phone abroad) before. O2 now says costs are the same as uk. Has anyone had problems or heard of this being incorrect.?
Congratulations and welcome Baby

Cagliostro · 24/06/2017 07:21

That happened to us wreck tends to occur once they've updated the proper income for the previous year (ours had been underestimated, and this time we got a disability back payment) it's nice but unnerving isn't it? I am always paranoid it's wrong :o

Dinner was £19 including tip. Not being able to eat so much (no longer feeling sick, but can't manage much in one go) certainly makes things cheaper :o

Woken ridiculously early today by my newly 10yo DD! Double figures Shock not sure what we are doing during the day but family game night tonight with DSCs :)

Cagliostro · 24/06/2017 07:21

And yay laska! Have a fabulous time!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/06/2017 07:28

I did miss you need.

ememem84 · 24/06/2017 07:32

Spent last night picnicking at a local outdoor music event. Swing jazz and blues. Was really good. Watched the sun go down.

ememem84 · 24/06/2017 07:32

£5 to pay to park the car. No other costs for the event.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/06/2017 07:38

Are you away laksa? You should have said Grin
I would forget the money and put sweets in the card. Harbio are cheap in Morrison's at the minute.
Happy birthday cag dd.

Shopping today will be speedy as dd needs undies.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/06/2017 07:39

I'm sending dh to little mix as I hate crowds and noise. It her birthday in October so will make it party of her birthday present

needastrongone · 24/06/2017 07:53

Yep laska, that holiday went right under the radar with me tooGrinGrin

Thanks re DD. I might just mention as the alternative that DS has no such work ethicGrin

Great weight loss Lonely, I'm grinning at the idea of the jeans coming down in public. Discount at a feed shop would be bloody lovely.

Happy Birthday Caglet DDCakeCake. My own baby girl is 16 tomorrow........blimey.

I'll post spends later.

Loveabaconsandwich · 24/06/2017 08:12

Happy birthday cag DD 🎉

Very impressed with your daughter last exam followed by job hunting. I do hope she gets one. Otherwise could she volunteer, maybe just to start her CV off?

meadow sounds like you had a great day! Star

Wow lonely I need to take some weight loss inspiration from you. Sounds like you are doing so well

Hope you have a great time laska

Hope you get to go home today seacow . I had the whole shaking/shivering thing too after giving birth. Was a bit freaked out until they said it was normal with quick births

Thank you for all the birthday love from you all on Thursday

Cagliostro · 24/06/2017 08:17

Thanks all! Happy birthday for tomorrow NeedDD 💐

ememem84 · 24/06/2017 08:49

Happy birthday to dd's

Dh got up early today. Made me shakshuka for breakfast (delicious Israeli baked eggs) and we're now watching the rugby.

The boy wasn't wiggly until the AB's did the haka. Now he won't stop!!! The AB's have come out to stomp the lions...the haka isn't their usual one they did kapa o pango (sp?) which loosely translates as "we're going to crush you!!" Should be an interesting game #weloverugby

Happy birthday to all the frugaleer dc CakeStar

I don't understand why anyone doesn't change their own tyres in UK Hmm here roadside assistance isn't very popular but some insurances are including it now. I'm guessing it's because your road network is better than ours & lots of more modern cars don't have spare wheels anymore.

Need I had a disastrous half marathon, I got into trouble at mile two, ended up walking majority of it & came in at less than a minute under 3 hours. I cried with disappointment at finishing line(I'm not emotional at all usually) and I'm still fairly disappointed. However I'm booking another one for September & my friends are going to do the route from last sat with me next month in case it's a mental block or race day anxiety.
Well done to your dd, my neighbour was just on phone to me & her ds 15 got a job picking potatoes she got him a job picking potatoes and he's not impressed, his life is over etc etc but he'll be fine once he gets paid & sees it's rewarding to work Smile

Girlie that's an awkward one with party, I would put something in both cards if you can.

€87 on Tesco delivery last night & will spend about €15 more in Aldi. I'm going to have a very limited list & sticking to it. Our shopping has crept up & up & up recently so I need to crack down to meal planning & using up what's there. I foresee a lot of tuna lunches - somehow there's 7 tins in the larder press Grin may leave butchers alone this week - we have lots of eggs from our hens & we've bacon & lardons so quiche/carbonara/mac & cheese are all options. I bought steak & burgers & chicken goujons last week so that's 3 more dinners sorted.

Meadow wow learning to cycle as an adult that's fantastic

mammymammyIRL · 24/06/2017 09:05

Off to google shakshuka for brekkie!

ememem84 · 24/06/2017 09:14

mammy google "ottolenghi shakshuka" and it should give you a recipe.

It's one of the best things I ate in Israel last year. All eggy tomatoey veggie spicy yummyness.

Spends today £25 riding. And that's it.

I spoke to the other lady who hit the rock and she thinks it was from a lorry not from the bank/wall so I'm guessing I don't have a leg to stand on. The only other option is to try the highways agency as there's also a pot hole there but I doubt I'll get anywhere with them.

mammymammyIRL · 24/06/2017 09:20

Fabulous dish, another option for my meal plan also

Was just enjoying some mumsnet time in bed after ds departed it from downstairs thinking isn't it great they can go downstairs turn on tv & occupy themselves for a short time alone when I ate my words - world war 3 broke out over a dummy passport that dd had for her school trip to an airport that ds had decided to tear a piece off ShockGrin alls ok again once they'd both lied to me & then I'd finally got the true story & can fix up dds passport!
