'Tis the problem with buying baby stuff. Once you start... :o

ememem84 · 19/06/2017 13:11

cag yep....

The lady in the shop said that they're adding new stuff in a couple of weeks why did she tell me that she also said that while they grow quick joules has great resale value.

I figure though full price it's not worth it because although very good quality its very pricey. But at 50% off its way more reasonable. And they wash well. And if I can resell or gift on its awesome. I tend to buy stuff for me in the sales only. Have avoided looking at "grown up" stuff for me as am now of the mindset that it won't fit anyway so would be a waste. #frugalthinking

Other spends today 89p can of Fanta. Bloody love Fanta. Mmmm.

Oh I'd have a heart attack if he did that.

MeadowHay · 19/06/2017 14:57

Hi! My living room is 27 degrees according to the thermometer, and that's with all the windows in my flat open and the fan on the middle setting! I actually feel ok but I have the fan on more for the DGPigs' benefit as the poor things are spending most of each day laying out flat like a pancake! They're not enjoying this heat. I didn't go to the park because the forecast said we'd be having thunderstorms but nothing yet Confused.

NSD yesterday and today.

Loved all the cat pics! I'd love a cat but not practical with DGPigs, and DH is allergic. Hoping to foster a dog when we move though.

SnugglySnerd · 19/06/2017 15:34

Meadow I'm the opposite - I'd love guinea pigs but already have a cat.

Have just stayed in today out of the sun. The babies are really interacting now, we've had lots of fun!

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/06/2017 15:49

34 degrees in my office today. Too hot.

Ds has come out of school with a headache do no skate park tonight. Will get more water into him and done paracetamol. Cool baths before cubs later

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/06/2017 16:32

My office was hot and my train is hot. Only 29 degrees outside here

I did wear a dress that had been sitting in my wardrobe since last summer still with tags on. It wasn't that kind to my podgy stomach but was the coolest thing I could find to wear/travel in. People have seen my bare legs probably for the first time Blush So kind of frugal to actually wear it

Returned a top, but bought two more tops. Plus birthday cards, plasters, lunch, snacks and an alarm clock so about £20 spent. So easily done buying bits and pieces

Cagliostro · 19/06/2017 16:52

I've promised DD we can look for baby clothes once we've had the 20 week scan (8 days time!) Em I have resisted so far, but I suspect she will want to go straight from the hospital to the shops :o :o

I currently feel like every day we don't get a(nother) takeaway is a big win ATM. I am hungry and tired and could murder some noodles. :o

WreckTangled · 19/06/2017 17:07

I was just watching ds out of the window and he got some of the cats food and hand fed him Grin he really loves him it's so cute.

AdoraBell · 19/06/2017 17:08

£1.60 on a card
89p spray bottle for plants
£27 ish spent on Saturday between the butchers and greengrocers

Too hot to function

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/06/2017 17:14

Have you looked at the takeaway secret books cag? It's my favourite cookbook. It falls open at the doner kebab recipe, I hated them before.

£960 holiday. Booked the house we had for our honeymoon , it's the week after my 40th.

I set up my next lot of free bets, I should be able to use them tm. I'm getting the hang of it now. Hopefully clear £30ish tm.

Cagliostro · 19/06/2017 17:36

That's funny about the doner - I was watching Eat Well For Less and they made a fakeaway kebab. Actually looked like I'd eat it, and I'm tempted to try it, but I've never eaten an actual doner. Those dripping spinny things put me right off. I just need to get well enough to cook!

I'm hoping we can do a bit of batch cooking while DH is off work - he's off for 8 days from Wed, then he only has about 10 days before we're off on holiday. But if I'm still feeling this rough, anything that helps me get through that 10 days has got to help!

How lovely about the holiday! :)

ememem84 · 19/06/2017 17:42

Office was lovely and cool. Thank god for air conditioning.

Walked home this evening. There was a warm breeze but it was actually quite pleasant. Strolling home in my flip flops.

home now and all windows open. have put an icy cold bowl of water down for catface. Someone at work suggested freezing a hot water bottle and leaving it out for her to lie on but I don't think she'd like it.

Carbonara with pasta shells and salad for dinner.

Am going to spend the evening doing washing, making a meal plan and a shopping list. Dh is out until at least 7.

WreckTangled · 19/06/2017 17:48

We had sausages with potato salad and coleslaw. Dh still isn't back from work hope he's home soon or I'll have to take dd with me to ds' swimming lesson.

WreckTangled · 19/06/2017 17:48

Our office has air con but we aren't allowed to use it

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/06/2017 19:47

Evening all Smile

Yes tis baking hot, work was hard going - our uniforms are awful in this heat!

Ahh lovely re the holiday Fluffy

Joules stuff sells on really well Em it keeps its value, my cat does the sitting in the sink meowing for the tap to go on thing!!

Spent £2.20 on a lolly and drink as I was melting.

WreckTangled · 19/06/2017 20:10

I've just had a fairy hefty tax credits payment. I managed to update my childcare costs but it won't let you update your income online which is so annoying. Every time I try to phone I get cut off! I'm not touching the money despite needing it. I'll try and call again tomorrow...

WreckTangled · 19/06/2017 20:17

When I say hefty I don't mean that hefty. Enough to feed us for a few weeks though...

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/06/2017 20:28

Tax credits are a nightmare. I was glad when we didn't have to claim anymore.

Nsd today in the end. DC wiped out with the heat. They didn't want to go back out after a cool bath. Still not going to bed as they should though.

Laska5772 · 19/06/2017 21:52

Ah.. I have just come in from garden where Dpusscat and I have been watering the plants and sitting with a glass of Wine on the bench at the top end of the garden . , Its lovely out there now..

Was roasting in our 1960s single-glazed- huge- Critall-windowed Council office block today.. (What is this thing called air conditioning? !)

But was pleased to find out when I left after work that I had inadvertedly parked my car in a place that gets shady in the afternoons... I must make sure iget in early again to do that..

Have had a really exciting evening cleaning out the fridge! (I know how to live) I am ashamed o say that although we have had it over 6mths now this is probably only the 2nd or 3rd time its been properly cleaned out! Blush

Spends today , all to do with going away.. £2.75 on Citronella tea lights and £25 in White stuff sale.. ( when Iwas goingto collect another top I had ordered !! ) .

My Hush kaftan came to day also so I have paid for that .. . and I have also bought all my holiday Kindle books( 6 in total but i already have another 4 or 5 waiting to be read as well.. ) . .All in all, I have paid £175 , to clear credit card bill today (but there were some other things on there also , inc some that DH had spent) ..

mammymammyIRL · 19/06/2017 21:53

Posting from my bed need to catch up Grin

Laska5772 · 19/06/2017 21:55

I average 9 books on a 3 week holiday!! I love to read and save up 'special' titles all year.. {bookworm emoticon]

Laska5772 · 19/06/2017 21:55

mammy are you ok?

Laska5772 · 19/06/2017 22:04

holiday sounds great fluffy
cag and fluffy that Take Away Secret book is great ! I gave a copy of it to DS for Christmas (i bet he never uses it though).. I do a fab (even if i say so myself) fakeaway Hong Kong chicken ( from a recipe from a kind Mnetter) and also pretty darn good Pad Thai noodles and green chicken curry . But for Indian sub-continent curries I still dont think you can beat Madhur Jaffrey..Her 'Curry Easy' books (both the meat and veggie onea) are fab

Cagliostro · 19/06/2017 22:07

Exciting spends... I ordered an oximeter! I had no idea what it was called, but it's one of those pinchy things they put on your finger to measure your oxygen and pulse. Getting unwell with it so often I want to keep a regular check and see if I can work out any patterns. Such a glamorous life I lead :o
