Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2017 17:22

NSD, made £8 matched betting & I did a davina workout. I thought I was dying because I tried to do cardio, then legs. Just cardio tm. Maybe abs.

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2017 17:49

A tiny bit of glass flew into my shoe and got stuck in my foot yesterday, when I was walking down the street to the bus stop. My friend, who I was having coffee with in Durham, persuaded me to ring 111, who booked an appointment at urgent care for me. They took x rays, which revealed that the glass had gone deep into my foot, on the weight bearing bone. The doctor tried to take the glass out under local anaesthetic (I couldn't help but scream when the needle went in. It was agonising!), but he wasn't sure he got it all, so he put some magnesium cream and a dressing on to act as a sort of poultice, to try to draw out whatever might be left. I have to see my gp in a few days, but if it doesn't work, I might even need an operation! Such a freak thing to happen.

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2017 17:51

It's not too painful today, surprisingly, but I can't bear any weight on the foot, and I don't feel completely there.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2017 17:55

Ouch. I've done that but she dug it out with forceps & managed to get it all.

Needles there are agony, it's all ligament & fatty pad. God I hope you don't have to have surgery on your heel!.

Was it broken bottles?.

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2017 18:00

It was just a bit of broken glass on the footpath, Fluffy. I wasn't even sure what it was, out of a sharp small stone, thorn or glass, as I didn't see what it was. It was only because I suspected it was glass that I sought advice. I wasn't even wearing open-toed shoes, just espadrilles!

WreckTangled · 28/05/2017 18:04

Oh no creme poor you! That's the sort of thing that couldn't happen even if you planned it. I hope the magnesium sulphate paste works if there's anything left in there.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/05/2017 18:05

Ouch creme. Hope it gets sorted soon and comes out.

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2017 18:07

I'd only been saying to my sister before it happened that surely nothing else could go wrong for me, after a dreadful 10 days or so. Got that wrong too!

AuditAngel · 28/05/2017 18:37

Tesco yesterday £249, but it was 2 weeks since the last proper shop, so not too bad (well it is, but coukd be worse)
£15 gift card for a party we went to.

Today £10 karate squad training (both DD's currently training, but at the moment I only have to pay for DD1) 2 weeks who was DD2's first training, she did 1.5 hours out of 2' today 1.75. Not bad at 6.

Their coach has their next competition (DD2's first) lined up in July

£3 in bus fares. Went to Chinese for lunch, MIL treated us got my birthday

ememem84 · 28/05/2017 19:33

Nsd today. I have been bidding on maternity stuff on eBay. A couple of jojo maman tips and a dress.

stuff from asos arrived will be sending the shirt back but keeping the denim shorts. So £35 back on my card.

Anyone know how long monsoon take to refund if you send back via post? I sent something back 10 days ago and still not had my refund.

Cagliostro · 28/05/2017 19:37

Ouch creme 😱😱

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/05/2017 19:46

Sounds really painful creme

£37 in Tesco

DP has changed energy supplier for us. Should save £130 per year and we are in credit so should get £60ish refunded which will be nice.

Thought we needed to change broadband. But still got 2 months to go. But looking at new phone/broadband deals we'll be able to save £10 per month plus potential cashback offers

Sky finally cut us off but only once we'd watched the f1 today (I know we could've watched it on c4 but felt good to be getting it for free Grin)

Trying DD2 with a summer duvet tonight. Wondering if she's waking in the night and yelling because she is cold. She's refused sleeping bags for a few months now although she seemed ok with a blanket

needastrongone · 28/05/2017 19:57

Evening.

Just checking in. Been a lovely day, BBQ in the garden with family, my niece was passing our way from a wedding and we invited everyone over to ours. Made a Mary Berry orange drizzle cake, and tabulah (sp) for the first time, the latter is easy and I won't buy it again.

Oh Creme, you are having such a hard time. That sounds so painful. Poor you.CakeBrew

needastrongone · 28/05/2017 20:12

Ps if you spend £50 in Boots, you get a beauty box. The products in there are really excellent. Just in case folk need a few bits.

NSD

Storm here again. Supposed to be a biggie. Catface is on the bed with us. She's scared and shaking but is purring. So hopefully she feels safe.

Won a top from eBay. £7 inc postage.

Coppersulphate · 28/05/2017 22:33

Oh Life that would have been great to meet up. I put my sat nav on and yes, straight down the A66 and got to Cleveland. I am back home now. 5 hour drive.
Yes please to the Lego cards. I am minding the little one from next week when DGS goes into hospital. She has just started collecting and opened ones would be great. They will help me to distract her and keep her occupied. I will happily pay the postage. Can I PM you with my address etc please?

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/05/2017 22:53

Urrrggh, there's an event going on about 3 miles from my house and the music has just woken DD2 up! Angry

Too warm for me to shut windows. I've woken up with the worst headaches in the last few days when the windows are shut

Coppersulphate · 28/05/2017 22:57

Crime, hope your foot is ok. Sounds dreadful. And after such an awful week or so. Surely now your luck has to change and good things will start to happen.
Wreck....tomatoes. Mine are already bearing fruit but they are no where near ripe. You need very large pots or straight into the soil in a greenhouse. (mine are in the conservatory) you can get outdoor plants if you want but they need to be in the sun if at all possible.
They need a lot of water and a feed ( Tomorite) once a week once the first fruit is set. Cut out all the little shoots that grow in the angle between the main stem and the main branches/ leaves. You will need to do this for each joint. When they get quite tall...say 3 trusses of tomatoes...cut them off at the top. And cut the bottom leaves off. This is because you need all of the plant's energy to go into producing the tomatoes, enlarging them and ripening them.
Enjoy.

Coppersulphate · 28/05/2017 22:58

Sorry meant Creme, obviously. Bloody autocorrect.

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2017 23:23

Grin @ Copper.

SunnyLikeThursday · 29/05/2017 06:28

Love That's a good idea about the insurance. I'll try to fit that in. We're on half term at the moment and getting time to breathe is a challenge. Smile I'm glad you like the car. We're getting to know it gradually here, like a new family member.

Copper I think run flat tyres have metal rings inside so if the type gets punctured then the rings are still there to hold the car up. It means that the car can still drive at 50mph on a flat tyre for about half an hour or so, or something like that. The downside apparently is that the car feels a bit bumpy driving along the road normally as it is kind of driving on metal wheels. That's what I read online anyway. A lot of people get them swapped for normal tyres.

That is a very unlucky accident creme. I hope the poultice works. Glad you went to see them to get it out. Have your tried breaking a matchstick? That's what we do to stop a run of bad luck.

We're on the first day of half term holiday today and I have lots of things planned to keep ds busy. We are looking after someone's cat and chickens while they are away, and hoping to go geocaching too, and possibly up a church spire. Exciting!

needastrongone · 29/05/2017 07:08

Hoping it all goes well next week Copper, a very big week for all concerned. Those folk at the NHS are incredible and your little DGS is in the best hands possible. Take care of yourself too though Brew

We have had a few BMWS over the years, a slightly harder ride is definitely a feature, it's something I quite like, DH not so much, but he does a lot more miles than me and a lot of long journeys. They've been my favourite car actually.

Shopping today with DD, It's due rain here.
