Drove up to Darlington today and all up the A1M there was an electric storm. The road surface was awash and visibility low. Still all calm now. Met with friend and had dinner in carvery. LeYum.
5 hours driving has left me knackered.
Just hope it rained on my garden.
Love those nails Need.
When you have all sorted your Lego cards out if there are any over I would love them for DGD. I will be looking after her next week while DGS has operation and she has just started collecting. I am hoping to take her mind off things. DD and DSiL will both be in the hospital with him and I think she will be upset.
Sunny, when you have recovered tell us about the car.

LonelyOversharer · 27/05/2017 22:04

Morrisons today, lunch, meat, bits. Sigh. Then £9 getting ds and dd1 macdonalds for tea.

pink thats what dp does with renewals (for shop and home), give me your best quote, no price matching. Just offer a bloody competitive quote in the first place, grrr!

We put the dogs into a very swish kennels today, as we are away tomorrow night. First night in 6 years. It is stupidly quiet here without them.

All ready to go tomorrow, christening is at 3, we have to get properly down south for then. Just got a cake in the oven and some biccys to make first! As you can guess, I am the family baked snacky provider!

Oh, also ordered some 1.25mm carbon needles to knit squeeny things with £7.

Eugh so tired. Ds woke up at five and I couldn't get back to sleep.

Going spinning in a bit that's £6.50 and might go out later to get a couple of hanging baskets for the front of the house.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/05/2017 07:29

I hope you are not saying Darlington is in Cleveland copper? I may have to take the hump if you are...... Which carvery did you have?
Out for lunch today courtesy of in-laws. Need to go to sainsbury so that will be pricey.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/05/2017 08:02

Morning all Smile we are packed and almost ready to leave for deepest, darkest Devon Grin there is no internet where we are going so 'see you' all at the end of the week.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/05/2017 08:16

DD2 fell asleep at 6.10pm yesterday on the sofa and then DD1 went happily to bed an hour later. Both DC were exhausted after the previous night of refusing sleep. We had our first quiet evening together for ages, watched a couple of episodes of the blacklist and went to sleep at 9.30pm too. DD2 then woke at 3am screaming but it was DPs turn to get up!

Need to go to the supermarket again as we haven't got Sunday lunch for today Sad . Hoping to find a reduced item though

mammymammyIRL · 28/05/2017 08:16

Car sounds amazing!

ememem84 · 28/05/2017 08:22

Yesterday was nsd as I'm pretty sure neither dh or I bought drinks the entire evening. I think despite the musings it was a cash bar this was not the case.

The wedding was lovely. My first catholic wedding. Service was really lovely, and not as "stuffy" as I though a catholic wedding mass would be. both the bride and groom looked amazing. The reception venue was gorgeous - old farmhouse with marquee in the grounds. So pretty.

Food was amazing. I had a glass of bubbly with canapés and then a wine with dinner. Dh had my "toasting" bubbly and then my after dinner cocktail which appeared on the table.

The band was amazing.

And...and... no "normal" soft drinks were served - i.e. No cokes lemonades etc. Lovely fruity waters, a lovely elderflower "mocktail" and also a blackcurrent and mint fizz. Mmm.

Just the most loveliest day for the most loveliest couple. All our friends were there as well as people who I'd not seen for ages so it was so nice.

Dh got drunky drunk but came home with me when I left. We were home by 11.

Successful day.

He's now watching tv suffering a bit. I'm in bed with tea and toast.

Re the viewing yesterday - 5 people turned up. Three interested. One of whom is viewing tomorrow. So fingers crossed.

If someone offers we'll have our pick of two houses. So yet another dilemma. But a good one!

Coppersulphate · 28/05/2017 08:37

Haha Life, no, we are staying in Darlington and went to the Toby carvery but I am veggie.
Going to Cleveland this morning. ( puts sat nav on and hopes it's nearby)
Car sounds amazing Sunny but now I need to know about flat run tyres. Never heard of them!
Good luck with the flat viewers Em.
Have a wonderful holiday in deep dark Devon, Girlie.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/05/2017 09:01

that's alright then copper. I wish i knew you were staying we could have met for a cuppa as you are in my stomping ground. Toby carvery is nice.

Cleveland 20 minutes down the A66 towards middlesborough. If you know where you are going great, if you want some local knowledge pm me. I also have lego cards if you know what numbers you need or just want a job lot of opened ones.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2017 11:00

More matched betting today. I should make £8, which means my free £25 bets made me £20 tax free since Thursday.

It's a start.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/05/2017 11:14

It's party central here with small DC mammy ha ha. More like numerous cups of Brew and Cake . FB kindly reminded me today that our last night out was a year ago today.

I fear your DH em is going to have a shock with his first hangover and a small noisy crying baby!

ememem84 · 28/05/2017 11:21

He probably is love haha!

I was asked yesterday why I'd not imposed a drinking ban on him. Is that a thing? Do people actually do it?

I mean I know that probably when we hit late August it'll be time for the big nights out to be reined in a bit (for both of us... I'm still going out out with friends just sticking to soft drinks) but I see no reason why dh should be banned from drinking now. Haha!

I had the teeniest of teeny sips of the espresso martini which arrived on the table yesterday. God it was delicious. Dh enjoyed both. 😀🍸☕️

No plans today. I'm reading Giovanna Fletchers book "happy baby happy mum" at present. Which is funny/interesting. And am hoping for another cup of tea.

mammymammyIRL · 28/05/2017 11:24

Em I think that drinking ban is only close to birth when they might be needed to drive you to hospital, was never an issue here as dh isn't a big drinker anyhow. That came out wrong, he's not a party person if that makes sense.

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 28/05/2017 11:31

Yes, it seems a bit harsh to impose a blanket drinking ban but very wise when dashes to hospital might be involved! I think we are coming close to that here. DH doesn't drink much at home anyway (especially when I am not sharing any wine)

PILs are coming any minute to take us out to lunch. I booked a naice pub roast, which is honestly the last thing I feel like eating in this weather! I will soldier on... Grin

Back later! Have a good day everyone, no work tomorrow!

WreckTangled · 28/05/2017 11:38

Back from spinning. Just having a massive plate of crudités and humous. Yum.

Dh doesn't want to go to homebase. Humph.

mammymammyIRL · 28/05/2017 12:02

It's raisingate here at the moment - ds has spilt a box of them on sitting room floor that I hoovered a pack of sprinkles off yesterday that he also spilt on the floor. He's steadfastly refusing to pick them up.

£150 in sainsbury faints
Lots for half term food and stocking up
Loving the JO book but it's costing a fortune to build up my cupboards.

ememem84 · 28/05/2017 12:39

life sorry if I've missed something but which JO book are you using at present? I had my eye on the superfoods one. I have ministry of food (which although simple I love!)
