Best of luck with open house em and enjoy wedding

I'm making use of my Bluetooth headphones & watching emmerdale on app on my phone while dc watch their cartoons on tv Smile
Unfortunately it'll be a boring weekend for them as I'm still suffering with bug, I can feel my insides gurgle as I type. They love pj days though so should be alright. I'll take them to community games tomo no matter what.

Taytocrisps · 27/05/2017 12:17

Sorry you're not too well mammy. Hope you feel better soon.

It's been raining all morning and yesterday's lovely weather is a distant memory. I'm kind of regretting inviting DD's friends for the day/sleepover but it's done now and DD will really enjoy it. You have to make an extra effort with an only child. I know she gets a bit bored sometimes with me and DH.

Anyway, we've been to the shop and stocked up for the day. We're having chicken fajitas for dinner as I know they'll all eat it and it's kind of healthy (well, healthier than pizza and chips).

Having a quick cuppa now and then I'll make a list of things to do and get moving.

mammymammyIRL · 27/05/2017 12:21

Quilt is amazing & lonely you're so different to how I pictured you Blush

Thanks tayto fajitas are a great dinner, they can eat as much or as little as they want with no pressure

Got into eaves of shed to see kittens

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2017 13:04

I'm missing 31, 43, 70x2. I'm promise them from the swapsies thread. Thanks though

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/05/2017 13:09

We just went to our library for a story telling event, and ds starred in a play. He was really excited. Definite advantage of now being the big boy at such events.

Dh has gone on a car shopping adventure and tells me that he has now bought the car.

Taytocrisps · 27/05/2017 13:12

Ah, that's lovely to hear about DS and his excitement Sunny. Congrats. on the new car also.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2017 13:14

Wreck I can send you loads of them. Will pm you the ones I have

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2017 15:17

Well that was expensive - 54 trainers x 2 for dc and had a £7 off voucher, £10 running socks, 21 superdrug, 86p boyes, "0 figit spinners.

Our thunder storm is just arriving as i type.

DC want pizza hut take out for tea so about 15 there

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2017 16:26

£25 for pizza hut. Ffs. It's not even that good. That's me buying a new bread maker for home made pizza.

Cagliostro · 27/05/2017 16:47

PH is really expensive for what it is, isn't it? We have it quite often really (they do gluten free pizza so DH can have it). The only other takeaway we get is Chinese which is better value really. Caglets won't eat Indian or anything else though.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/05/2017 17:10

Did you know they were there Mammy?? Very cute!

Been into town this morning;

Spends,

£2 on the lego card collector book thingy, dd also now obsessed Hmm
£10 gift for dn
£10 gift for sil
£12 Primark on a beach towel and some jeggings for dd
£6 on 3 plants Blush

£35 Lidls on food to take with us.

Have made a start on packing but got a bit bored Grin still need to empty the car and tidy up - ugh.

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/05/2017 17:25

Dh has come home with a £20k car. The boots is now full of small children. Dh is pleased with the car, which is good, because he never even asks for Christmas or birthday presents for himself. I am feeling slightly light-headed, which is only proper for a die-hard frugaleer in such a situation. Brew

WreckTangled · 27/05/2017 17:33

I want Chinese.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2017 17:46

A lie down in a darkened room after that sunny.

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/05/2017 17:49

That's exactly what's needed Life.

mammymammyIRL · 27/05/2017 18:40

Yes girlie I did but hadn't seen them in almost 3 weeks since mamacat brought them up there Smile

I cooked spuds, bacon & cabbage for everyone - i don't like any of these things but it smells amazing (haven't kept anything in since wed eve/thurs mornSad)
I'm gone to bed for the night Smile least it's this weekend & not next weekend when we're away Grin

Scrabbling to catch up, feeling discombobulated 🙄
Girlie my insurance broker wrote to me saying my premium had gone up from £258 to £310 😱. I went online (moneysavingexpert.com) and got a quote of £191 so phoned up the broker who matched it. I wasn't impressed but happy that it's cheaper than last year. I did the same site for house insurance and got that for 30% less than DH forked out last year with Saga who he insisted on going with, much to my annoyance).
When he phoned Saga to cancel dd and they wanted to know who we'd gone with - AA Insurance- he refused to tell them saying he was fed up with being offered matched quotes, why didn't they just give a sensible quote at renewal?
Feeling quietly smug 🙃

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2017 19:40

Don't worry about trying to keep up p1nk. We can certainly chat. Just post about what you are doing if you want without feeling you have to comment on the rest of us.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/05/2017 19:52

Pink Do not worry about keeping up. I'm always up for frugal tips & questions.

£16 TVs cables but one going back so I'll get £8 back.
£3 Leffe but shopmium will give me £1.50 back.
