£5 odd on healthy snacks for the snack cupboard
£50 ish in Boots, lot's of bits on offer plus face cleanser etc for one of the DDs. DH bought coffees as we walked into town.

needastrongone · 26/05/2017 17:29

Not at bad as OCR messing up the Capulets and Montague's in one of their questions creme, so the question was unanswerable. Romeo and Juliet, if Shakespeare isn't your thing. That's an exam paper for GCSE English which was incorrect....

DD's had an error too on Monday, different exam board....

AdoraBell · 26/05/2017 17:29

Sorry for your loss Meadow Thanks I can kinda understand why your DPs held the info back from you because of the exams, can you have a quiet celebration with DH? Even something like a nice coffee and cake in town?

mammymammyIRL · 26/05/2017 17:38

Sorry for your loss meadow

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 26/05/2017 17:54

I saw something about that on FB need gosh. That's quite an error 😱😱

WreckTangled · 26/05/2017 18:50

Meadow glad your exams are over and sorry about your grandad.

Laska wow I hope I don't have to deal with my parents domestics in the future!

I'm exhausted!! Finished work at one then collected the food shopping from tesco,
Straight home and literally dumped the food in the kitchen (put the frozen stuff in the freezer) straight to dd's assembly. After school we went to the park with all our friends and had a massive picnic tea with gin and tonic for parents. Left just before six and the dr phones to say urine results back and confirms infections so she has issued abx. Get home and dh still not home so I phone him and he's at work almost an hour away so he can't collect my prescription and nor can I. Will have to wait until tomorrow. Anyway the sun is shining, I have a tan and I am happy as I've been with friends and had fun.

CremeEggThief · 26/05/2017 18:55

Oh dear, Need. Not good at all.

I've been told I'm no longer needed at my supply job, as the current person I'm sharing with has said she could go full-time for 4 or 5 weeks until the post holder comes back from maternity leave. I'm fuming, actually. This whole situation arose because she wanted to leave at Easter, then said she'll stay and do mornings, which was better for the SATS children, and then changed her mind again. So I was left with a horrendously behaved class with no support and the children have endured lots of change and disruption, because of one person and her indecision. And because she's been there over a year, she gets to keep the job. Excuse my language, but she's a fucking sly bitch.

ememem84 · 26/05/2017 18:58

Oh meadow sorry about your grandad. Take care of you x x

Sounds like everyone's had nice days.

Dh just cried. Actual cried. Baby Boy has been super wiggly so wiggly I could feel it on the outside. Dh felt it too. And then cried like a wussy I've never seen him proper cry. 😀😭😂😻

And. The chain of properties we were in has completed on the other end now as in they're ready to go and we're holding things up the people were buying from are willing to wait for us. So potentially we have our choice of two houses now....

WreckTangled · 26/05/2017 19:10

Creme that's really shit I'm not surprised you're fuming.

Aww em!

Cagliostro · 26/05/2017 19:22

OMG Creme that is so completely shit! :( Angry

Em awww that's lovely!

CremeEggThief · 26/05/2017 19:45

Thanks guys. Long term, I'm better off out of a school that can treat people like this. It's just so galling that the person who caused the situation gets to stay... I think I've had it with teaching now.

ememem84 · 26/05/2017 19:48

creme that's crappy. I want to say don't leave teaching as there are so few good teachers out there. But it's a tough job. Not one of those that I could do. So I salute you x

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/05/2017 19:56

Will catch up on a bit but popped on to day thanks need your parcel arrived

needastrongone · 26/05/2017 20:29

That's lovely life, glad they arrived safely, especially as I haven't sent them yet. GrinGrinGrin

AngryAngrycreme, that's just crap. I've got no meaningful words of comfort tbh.

Lovely Em re your DH, think he's a bit wound up about parenthood and that's a factor too, to his stress?

Easy risotto for tea, cheaper than a takeout.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/05/2017 20:39

Right think I've caught up!

Em glad your dh realised he was being a dick and apologised, I think you let him off the hook pretty lightly though tbh. I don't do men shouting at me though, pretty much zero tolerance for it if he thinks he is stressed now how on Earth will be cope once a newborn turns up Glad things are moving forward with the house though and baby boy is doing well Smile

Meadow well done on getting through your exams and sorry to hear about your Granddad Flowers

Need it feels like this Government want kids to fail Angry that is certainly how I felt about the SATs, what on Earth is the point in making exams so hard more kids fail them Confused wish politicians would leave education to teachers.

Wreck ouch UTIs are bloody painful, drink your own body weight in water is my advice! Sounds like a lovely afternoon.

Laska am also sorry but did chuckle at your elderly parents having a full on domestic, hope they patch things up though.

Seacow I do not envy you being heavily pregnant in this heat Shock you must be melting!

Creme not surprised you're pissed off that is shit.

Welcome Daisy I think you need to go cold turkey on spending anything on store cards, cut them up would be my advice!!

Hope I've not missed anyone!!

Thank the Lord it is Friday and the start of half term, was lovely walking out of work today knowing I have a few days off!! Far too hot to work in this weather anyway Grin Its also payday - yipppeeeee!! Checked the account and its looking lovely for a change, I got my two months worth of millage, a bank hol, my wend and some overtime.

I have taken £80 in cash straight away to pay for the cattery at the end of our holiday next week, i also need to take out cash for the holiday £50 and to pay the carpet cleaner man £40. Got a chap picking up my new sofa for me which I think will be £40 as well, think will get it all out toms so I have a better idea of what I will be left with.

Tomos need to go into town early for a few bits, mostly bday gifts (there seems to be loads of people with bdays in June!) also need to go to Lidls and stock up on food to take with us next week. We are going Sunday morning - eek!! Excited although it does look like this lovely weather is going to break Hmm

Sorry for the epic post, well done for anyone still reading Grin

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/05/2017 20:45

Sorry to hear that meadow

I'm not surprised you are fuming creme

DD2 will not go to bed. I almost had her asleep in my bed earlier then DD1 got up and came in and disturbed her. Given up and DD1 is back in bed with a good telling off and DD2 is watching tv with us Hmm . DD2 fell asleep at 3.30 in the car which won't have helped. Aarrrggh

mammymammyIRL · 26/05/2017 20:46

Creme I'm so Angry on your behalf, you were willing & flexible in comparison to this woman & because of hierarchy she gets what she wants AngryAngryAngry

Girlie you sound so positive I hope yours & dds holiday goes superbly well Smile

I spent €1.60 on a 2litre bottle of 7up to try rehydrate. And earlier today €2.40 on two packs of maltesers from vending machine at train station, I wasn't fit to argue with dc & suggest sweets are the nearby Aldi would be better! It kept them happy & they enjoyed entering their selection on the machine & putting in coins to pay for it.

What ages are your dds bacon?

OP posts:
Loveabaconsandwich · 26/05/2017 20:47

In good news my cropped jeans were too big today. I don't think I've lost weight but always nice when things get too big

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/05/2017 20:48

2.5 and almost 6 mammay. Oldest has always gone to bed fine but now the little one is disturbing her too

mammymammyIRL · 26/05/2017 21:05

That's great about the trousers!
Can't offer any advice even though my dc are similar ages 7 & 3.5. Ds just didn't sleep until he was 2.5 but has done since, dd sleeps like the dead so it was never an issue.

OP posts:
Loveabaconsandwich · 26/05/2017 21:12

I fear she isn't going to improve until it gets darker at night and darker for longer in the mornings. She's now decided she wants to go to bed in our bed. She will be removed later!

At least this time next year she will, in theory, be easier to reason with. In the meantime there is Cake

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/05/2017 21:19

Creme I've had that happen to me too, she might not be so keen if the class is badly behaved?. It made me feel awful too. You will have to look at the matched betting threads. It's boring but you get money off it.

Meadow Well done! I'm sorry your grandfather passed, I bet you missed the funeral too. It always makes you feel a bit odd.

Need That's awful I hope their going to mark accordingly.

Laska I think if she's serious you have to take her in. It might all blow over though.

£5 petrol
£5 in Tesco points for a davina DVD.

£3 dressings for work.

Coppersulphate · 26/05/2017 21:27

Evening everyone.
Well done Sunny on being assertive about DS, and is it an electric car?
YAY to finishing your exams Meadow. Are you now officially looking for a job in law?
Creme, that is terrible. Please don't leave teaching. The kids need good teachers. But I agree she is a bitch, but so are the management for allowing it.
Cag, wow, that beach looks lovely and the family look engrossed.
Spend your day £60ish on diesel, 7.30 in Aldi but I had run out of milk and bread.
Up to Cleveland tomorrow for "work"
Have a lovely bank holiday everyone.
And a great holiday Girlie.

Coppersulphate · 26/05/2017 21:28

It was on radio 4 news about the English exam paper. There is no excuse for that. It is incompetent and should have been proof read.
