need I know. Keep telling myself that. Short term. It's only short term.

Just wish the agent had kept to the 24 hours notice for viewings. And wish we'd agreed no viewings on bank holidays/Sundays. Must email agent in the morning and tell him this.

HollyTheHarrier · 13/04/2017 22:01

Sunny I rear ended someone for the first time ever not too long ago, and it was a police car 😳 Fortunately they were nice about it and there was no damage. These things happen though, and there was no need for the lady to be unpleasant about it.

Em sympathies on the viewings/living in show home thing. It will be over soon.

I've had a crazy week at work. working past midnight and getting up early for travel. So tired. Frugaleering has gone out of the window but hoping I can reclaim some expenses for food and drink. One of my worst frugal habits is not reclaiming expenses, I think I'm worried people will think I'm being greedy or something?! Job for this weekend to sort old receipts so I can try to get some money back.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/04/2017 00:20

Sunny these things happen sometime. i was rear ended when stationary on holiday in Turkey. There's a lot of terrible driving over there so I think the car hire people almost expect accidents! It was tricky though because I had to get particular info in the event of an accident and don't speak a word of Turkish, he didn't speak English... but I guess he was honest in the info he gave me as the car hire people never came back to me for any costs. And no one was hurt.

Hiwever, my sister was rear ended a couple of weeks ago at reasonable speed on a country road - she slowed down for the car in front to turn but the person behind her didn't. Her lovely car (my old car that I had given her) was a write off and she has a broken wrist. That was quite a day. Fortunately there was a witness. She now has a new (to her) car but can't drive it because of broken wrist!

Whoever accused me of having a poor diet, you're not wrong ATM Grin. I am eating good varied meals but defo too many treats sneaking in. I must get a grip < ooh, is that carrot cake?>

em grit your teeth, it'll be over soon!

Girlie its lovely that your garden makes you so happy.

I can't flick back to rwmember lists sorry.

We are off to visit our lovely friends' new house tomorrow. But first, if I can get DS out of the house nice and early, I'd like to take him to the local bluebell woods for our annual photo shoot. I have a lovely sequence from every year since he was born. I guess next year I will be taking DD too, if all goes well Smile

mammymammyIRL · 14/04/2017 06:17

WWYD my Tesco cc is now clear(because I've balance transferred not because I've paid off all the debtSad) it's the only rewards cc I've got, would you keep it & use it only for spends that you can cover immediately from joint account or close it down to avoid temptation?

WreckTangled · 14/04/2017 06:32

I would close it mammy.

We survived the cyclone. 16 hours with no power and lots of trees down.

£330 on a hotel in Auckland. I'm a bit annoyed because there were cheaper ones but whilst we were waiting to see if PIL's wanted to come with us all the cheaper ones went Hmm used topcashback though.

Cag is your scan tomorrow?!

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/04/2017 07:15

I'd close it too Mammy.

Five free creme eggs on clicksnap. 10 if your partner has an account and you do it in two sales.

needastrongone · 14/04/2017 07:23

I wondered about the cyclone Wrecked, glad you are okay.

I too would close it Mammy.

Quiet day as we were due to compete and now we are not doing so. Going for a run with my friends in a minute of about 8 miles. Spot of gardening. Ironing. Defrosted some mince for tea. Rock and roll life style..

Spends.
£30 cleaner.
££ if I utilise a Sparks offer for wine.

Also, I have organised a local milk delivery, the milk is produced locally and the business is in our next village. It works out on par with the Cravendale milk I usually buy but supports a local business.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/04/2017 07:29

Close it mammy there are better reward cards out there. Do not put thine self into temptation.

Sainsbury today. Will be pricey as need clothes

ememem84 · 14/04/2017 08:15

Glad you're ok wreck

hope the scan goes ok cag

mammymammyIRL · 14/04/2017 08:30

lifelong see that's the thing in Ireland it is the only rewards cc available. There is a €40 charge per year per card though and would the rewards outweigh that probably not & the temptation would be there if card still was. I thought closing it was the most sensible option but said I'd run it past the frugaleers just to be sure!

need that's fabulous about the milk. Our very local milk is about twice as expensive as the usual one we buy. We go through 10litres + a week so for now I'm sticking with the cheaper one.

wreck glad you're all safe & well

LonelyOversharer · 14/04/2017 08:53

mammy they're all right, you should close it, my asda card is like this...transfer, pay it off, go oooh cashback and the cycle starts again. How about you change the password to the online account to a random jumble, which you cannot remember, write it down, and put that and the card in, say the freezer, so no temptation, but the credit limit is available if you ever really need it?

sunny easy done. Have done it 3 times since I've been driving. The last time was outside ikea, and the ladies car was brand new. No damage, and she was lovely, took my number, but I never heard from her. I trembled for hours though. Well done swimming, ds was getting a bit phobic of water, it took us nearly a year to gradually get him into a pool.

£30 yesterday in the garden center, but I only got seeds and 2 more root trainer sets, as they were cheaper than b&q! Will get the seeds started today. And £10.80 in greggs on lunch for dc, I gave the guy £20.80, and he gave me £12 change Confused so one of us couldn't count! Got my first new pound coil too, I quite like it, will keep it (until I need some energency parking!).

The shop is shut until tuesday. Yay! This is the longest we ever close for, I love easter holls!

SnugglySnerd · 14/04/2017 09:37

Pleased you are ok, Wreck.

Nobody in our house woke up until 7.45 today, not even the babies! We have all had breakfast in our pjs whilst watching CBeebies and we are now wondering what to do for the next 4 days. I feel a bit lost without some structure to the day. If we didn't have DD1 to consider I'd probably be happy to watch tv in my pjs all weekend but we'll have to think of some way to entertain her, might do some Easter baking.

Loveabaconsandwich · 14/04/2017 10:21

Thanks fluffy for the heads up about the crime eggs.

£55 spent in sainsburys. But £4.30 was on Easter eggs which £4 will be cashback from ClickSnap and TCB. Love free chocolate!

snuggly amazing that you had a lie in Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 14/04/2017 10:22

Glad you have Easter off lonely

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/04/2017 10:38

The benefits won't out weight the annual charge. Close it.
Have a lovely long weekend lonely.

£160 in sainsbury. Summer uniform, rogue 1 dvd and a couple of tops and baking apparatus bumped it up. No idea what we are eating though. DC want to go swimming this afternoon so £20 ish there. Off to children's good Friday mass in a minutes.

mammymammyIRL · 14/04/2017 11:07

I ordered a dress for wedding next week and an outfit for a baby from littlewoods yesterday, typically got a code in post last night for €20 back on a €50 spend Hmm have a few more baby presents to buy so will use it for that instead as the dress will be 95% likely to be going back anyhow.

Has anyone any knowledge of these coffee machines Lidl Coffee Machine half price was thinking of it for dh for Father's Day. I bought him a coffee machine from facebook a few years ago and while it's good the pods are best value when bought in bulk at least €50 worth, maybe this would be better as could buy the coffee in aldi?

snuggly your children are just amazing!

I will call and close the card.

SunnyLikeThursday · 14/04/2017 11:07

Thanks for all the sympathy on the car. Holly I love the rear-ending a police car. I could totally imagine doing that, and wanting to disappear into the ground. My neck is a bit sore today, but at least it's my own fault. I'm too embarrassed to see the GP.

Loveabaconsandwich · 14/04/2017 12:41

mammay I meant to say earlier, the best way to make a reward cc to work is if you are able to pay off in full at the end of each month. It sounds like you made the best decision though!

SnugglySnerd · 14/04/2017 13:29

If only I could persuade them to wake at that time every day, it's usually 6am!

mammymammyIRL · 14/04/2017 14:43

I haven't done anything yet bacon!

Just bought 4 baby presents on Littlewoods using my €20 off code so €46 for all Ladybird stuff so I'm chuffed with that.

Snuggly if you got one day a week like that you'd feel like a different person entirely

SunnyLikeThursday · 14/04/2017 15:23

We're having a good day today. I managed to persuade an electronic toy making company to send some products to our house for me to photograph and write about. I have invited all ds's friends round to play too, so it's pretty exciting here.

OP posts:
CremeEggThief · 14/04/2017 15:45

Hope it continues, at least for the long weekend, Snuggly.Smile

Sounds exciting about the toys, Sunny. Are you seeing what your DS and his friends think of them for the reviews?

Spends: NSD for cash, but £25 on my card for hair and eyebrows, for an evening wedding reception I'm going to tomorrow.

SunnyLikeThursday · 14/04/2017 15:45

Meadow did you see that the news said that 51,000 people had had their motability cars taken away after their PIP payments were downgraded, but that two thirds of those people were given them back on appeal? I thought maybe that was a good sign for your appeals process.

We have had a another nice day, have had one of dds best mates over for the day and I took the girls up on the hills for some fresh air, its beautiful up there and we saw the wild ponies!! Ended up a local free NT place that had an Easter egg hunt on, it was pretty busy but the girls loved it and had a fab time Smile

Unfortunately dd seems to have picked up a cough/cold from somewhere and is flagging now so have put a dvd on for them to watch.

Spends were £5 for the hunt for both girls and £1.80 on a cup of tea. I had taken a picnic so lunch was covered.

Blimey had no idea there was a cyclone going on Wreck Shock glad you are o.kay.

I would find that annoying as well Em early viewings sound like a right PITA as does having to be super tidy all the time!!

Fab lie in Snuggly good babies!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/04/2017 16:33

We've had a miserable grey day here. I'm going to minx my toes to cheer myself up.

NSD.

I'm 25p short of valued opinions vouchers to buy the Doug schoon nail chemistry book on Amazon. Cannot get one survey today. Hmph.
