Hair dye is all or nothing. Grey doesn't bother me though. Wrinkles bother me immensely.

NSD.

Cagliostro · 01/04/2017 17:17

Forgot to say Fluffy nope don't know how far along yet. Midwife on Tuesday and I'm hoping they will agree to an early scan (the doctor I spoke to on the phone seemed to think it likely) because I'm so unsure on dates.

Been an easier afternoon really as DD is at a neighbour's and DS has been happy watching early Mr Bean episodes and playing with geomag. Man those magnets are strong! Amazing stuff. Pleased with that bargain.

DSS is picking us up early tomorrow so we can go to watch the last bit of DH's run. Awesome as I wouldn't be up to travelling there! It's also a family birthday and it's going to be pretty difficult not letting slip about the pregnancy as we will all be together (rare these days due to work, uni etc). But it's far too early and anyway I don't want to steal thunder :o

Not sure what the plan is after the run, probably dinner (once DH has recovered Confused so hopefully somewhere we can get a voucher or Clubcard tokens :o

ememem84 · 01/04/2017 17:25

Another two bags of rubbish taken out today from clear outs. And another bag of clothes to the charity shop. Listed 4 things on eBay to finish tomorrow.

Have been toying with the idea of getting rid of my ugg boots for a while. One has a small hole. But they are too comfy. Will get rid once its summer proper. Then will treat myself to a new pair for birthday/Christmas. Maybe. They are the ugliest but comfiest.

Starving now no idea what to do for dinner. We don't appear to have anything useful. Hmmm.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/04/2017 17:28

Yup hair dye will cover all hair it touches to a greater or lesser extent.

Spendy afternoon. Went to our first NT place. £10 teashop as it rained. £57 sainsbury on bits i forgot, pizza for tea and dinner tomorrow as more NT and friends for dinner.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/04/2017 17:29

How was the valuation em. Don't say figures but was it about what you thought?

MeadowHay · 01/04/2017 17:50

Well today with the refugee kids was kinda a mixed bag. I was expecting more 17 yr old volunteers as I was told there would be like 10 of them - and had it all planned out with them to each take a small group of kids on etc but only three of them turned up and then they all left early as usual so I couldn't do my splitting them into groups thing. After they left I counted THIRTY TWO CHILDREN. And there was just me. So realistically I just left them to play and felt quite sad like I was letting them all down. But what could I have possibly done with thirty two children of all different cages most of whom speak very little english all on my own?? Would have been impossible. Did have some fun with a group of about 15 earlier doing body parts, heads shoulders knees and toes and the hokey hokey and another group of 10 or so did a lot of colouring. Blerghhh feeling demotivated as I feel like they deserve a lot better but without more help it's just not possible. A crafty lady is coming next week to help me and planning to make finger puppets with them, I'm not artsy at all but I'm sure they'll all love that so should be more productive next week. Then I'm away for three weeks and leaving her to it lol.

Spends: 50p on a loaf of bread and 60p on a chocolate bar to cheer myself up before I went home from town.

WreckTangled · 01/04/2017 17:54

Meadow I think what you do is amazing and I wish there were more people like you in the world!

We just had Chinese. Yum. The dc are being awful I'm dreading the flight so much!

Cagliostro · 01/04/2017 17:57

Oh Meadow with the hugest respect don't be daft! You sound like you did bloody brilliantly! You didn't let anyone down, you did what you could in difficult circumstances because other people let them (and you) down by not doing their planned volunteering :( seriously my dear you are a star. Thanks

LonelyOversharer · 01/04/2017 17:59

What cag just said. Well done meadow Star

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/04/2017 18:01

Well done meadow. That's a big group for 1 person. Can you conscript any more grown up help? Or get the teenagers to stay longer?

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/04/2017 18:04

Oh meadow Cake. You sound like you did your best, which was a very good best. You can only do what you have the resources to do. Don't be disheartened, if you weren't there then the kids would have had nothing Flowers

Not been a good day. Feeling really unwell, very bad headache and legs feel like jelly. Spent most of the day in bed. Think it is the combination of a busy last week but also knowing there's a lot on this week. Tried to eat just now but couldn't.

I did still manage to spend though Blush
£40 on Tesco online. Mainly beer at the moment but needed to reserve my slot so I will need to then swop it for food
£6 Amazon on some suncream for DC

em you might want to keep the uggs either until end of pregnancy or buy the new ones earlier. Comfy is key at the end of pregnancy/with a newborn. You feet might swell too (sorry) so they may be a godsend! Saying that I lived in flip flops (summer baby) and trainers (winter baby)

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/04/2017 18:06

Hope you are feeling better cag and well done on the eBay jacket need

ememem84 · 01/04/2017 18:12

meadow ditto what cag said. You sound like you did amazingly.

life valuation was good. Matched the previous agents one which was encouraging. Have asked to view two more properties next week one of which was one which went under offer as I looked at it a few weeks ago. Encouraging although wondering what's wrong with it

bacon dh just laughed. He said we both know I'll never get rid of the uggs. I said winter 2015/2016 would be their last....

If swell during pregnancy they go down again right? Only I've got some super nice shoes that I'd hate to never be worn again. "Investment" shoes if you will - lk Bennett courts for work in nude black and burgundy. Shoe size better not change!! Haha!!

Veggie pasta bake with smoked cheese sauce and green salad for dinner. Mmm

WreckTangled · 01/04/2017 18:17

Some people feet sizes do change and don't go back. Never had that problem myself though.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/04/2017 18:19

Some people's feet do end up bigger after pregnancy em I believe, but I expect you'll find most people don't.

I remember the midwife looking at my ankles saying they were looking a bit swollen. I had to bite my tongue as they were just my normal ankle size (I'm skinny on top and chunky on bottom) Grin

WreckTangled · 01/04/2017 18:21

My ankles still get really swollen when it's hot Blush

Cagliostro · 01/04/2017 18:22

Yeah pregnancy is proper glamorous innit :o

Hands can swell a bit too, I haven't worn my wedding ring since DS was born :(

Cagliostro · 01/04/2017 18:23

My feet were fine though if that helps.

Hmmm microwave carbonara. Classy dinner

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/04/2017 18:30

Em I got off quite lightly appearance-wise with pregnancy. My hands and feet stayed the same, I got no stretch marks and I have almost no grey hair and no wrinkles at 41, so it's definitely possible to come out right on the other side, at least from the looks point of view.

It's not as glam as some celebs make out...

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/04/2017 18:50

I always imagine all the pregnant ladies on here as being very glam with their bumps. We may hear otherwise, but always in my mind you all look great Smile

Just eaten half a packet of salt and vinegar pringles

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2017 18:55

There's a prostaglandin released in lg that encourages the cartilage/ligaments holding your pelvis together at the front to soften to allow the baby through.

Prostaglandins aren't very specific though and it also affects the feet and they spread out because there's so many joints and their all held together by tiny ligaments.

You used to be able to buy arch supports called mother steps or something like that. They hold the arch in the correct position.

My mother is very petite, she was all bump and water retention but she still went up a width fitting she hardly ate because my dad was working her hard so she'd miscarry it was a difficult pg though.

Cagliostro · 01/04/2017 19:14

Bacon I am definitely not glamorous I am fat and haggard and a general scruffbag. Blush :o

SnugglySnerd · 01/04/2017 19:15

Meadow I was going to say what Cag said but she neat me to it!

Em in both pregnancies my feet only swelled in the last few weeks and went back to normal within a week after delivery. I made it through the first pregnancy without a single stretch mark. Not so lucky this time but I was much bigger with two on board. However, I was back in my size 10 jeans before the twins were 3 weeks old!
It's not all bad anyway, most pregnant people have amazing skin and hair.

Today was unexpectedly spendy as we were caught out with bo lunch so ended up buying it out. £15 on toasties, drinks and cakes. My toasty wasn't even very nice but it was nice to do something like that spontaneously and DD enjoyed it.
We also bought her a bubble wand, £1.50 and let her choose some seeds to plant in a patch we've cleared for her in the garden. Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow so she can plant them.

Cagliostro · 01/04/2017 19:15

Wow fluffy :( Thanks your poor mum x
