Hi all, I have a day off today which is rather nice 😊 been to aqua aerobics £6 parking £2 met friend for lunch £5 and picked up a few bits in Morrison's £7.

Cag glad you got your letter.

Snuggly can't believe you are going to have twins soon 👶👶 your pregnancy seems to have flown by, although probably not to you!!

Some of you asked for the banana and treacle muffin recipe, here it is...

8oz plain flour
2tsp of baking powder
Pinch of salt
2oz of sugar

8floz of milk
4floz of sunflower oil
2oz of treacle
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 or 2 v ripe bananas.

Put all dry ingredients together and mix
Make a well in the middle of dry mix and add in all the wet ingredients
Add mushed up bananas
Mix with wooden spoon, all dry ingredients should be mixed up but mix will still be lumpy iyswim
Put mix into muffin cases and bake on gas 6/200 c for 20 mins

V yummy.

allthebestplease · 21/02/2017 14:37

cag and others, here's my blog supermoneywoman.com

I'm worried I'm turning into my mum, I seem to be obsessing about not spending small amounts. I know it makes sense, but my mum was tight - pretty selfish id say.

snuggly put a sign on door saying no cold callers and have an answer machine to screen home phone, or have a home phobe to show caller id, then don't answer any number you don't know.

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 14:56

Great stuff thanks I shall attempt to follow it! :)

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 14:58

Yay I subscribed. :o

SnugglySnerd · 21/02/2017 15:23

Thanks everyone, I've calmed down a bit now!
I think I'm going to put a sign on the door saying parcels for this address only. It's hard getting up now but I'll be livid if people keep waking the babies.
I've got DD to help with a few jobs like emptying the washing machine and tidying up. She has sorted out some old board books for the babies so they are finally out of the living room and in the baby room!

Girlie I think it's gone quickly too! Can't believe they are nearly here!!

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 15:32

Exciting stuff snuggly and good move on the parcel sign.

Welcome char :)

I'm down some cash as my friend had to postpone her son's piano lesson but should be doing it later in the week.

Another frugal afternoon here playing a board game and building a paper Viking boat while writing in runes :o

DH forgot to cut up the chicken breasts before work and my knife wielding hand hurts too much to do it :( marinade won't work so well like that so hopefully I'll feel able to do it later.

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 15:33

Oh but the exciting thing is I found gluten free spy sauce. So I can now do said marinade without poisoning my husband. 😳

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 15:34

LOL soy sauce obviously not spy sauce. Not sure the latter would be good in a stir fry

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2017 16:26

Welcome CharSmile.

You're very brave, sleeping with a bike above your head, Knitting. I don't think I would be brave enough for that!

I'm feeling lots better today, although it still feels like I have 2 mini golf balls in my throat! NSD.

SnugglySnerd · 21/02/2017 16:33

I'm disappointed, Cag I thought spy sauce must be something really exciting I was missing out on Grin

I think I've realised the reason why I'm so wound up today. It is because nobody in my family can do anything without asking me. E.g. DD asked DM for a snack "let's see what mummy says..." She even asked me how much water to put in the kettle to make a cup of tea earlier. If I say it doesn't matter I'm accused of being "difficult".
Sorry I am really on one today. I have already texted dh to warn him, wouldn't blame him if he stayed at work!

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/02/2017 17:02

Ah snuggly that sounds tough. I agree as people come to collect any more parcels tell them you won't be available for delivery. Tell the courier's too. Then a ding on the door.

Welcome new frugaleers.

£4 in the butchers on DS tea as it is his choice. £10 holiday club.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2017 17:06

You have pg lady rage snug.

I always say the cat & Dh would be dead in a week if I left.

Ipsomatic · 21/02/2017 18:23

Snuggly Things are a bit tense here too. Maybe it's the weather or something. Fingers crossed it gets better soon.

OP posts:
SnugglySnerd · 21/02/2017 18:50

Thanks, I think it is pregnancy rage! I'm suddenly much more uncomfortable and going a bit stir crazy as I can't manage a walk or anything to get out.
Tomorrow will be better, I might take DD out for a cake or something just so I get out of the house!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 21/02/2017 18:53

fluffy if you put 'bike hoist' into amazon search lots will come up. They hold handlebars and saddle back, so can't touch the paint. Luckily we have high ceilings upstairs, or I'd bump into the thing.

snuggly do you feel close? If you go into labour before you're scheduled I guess they will be a planned-emergency c-section? I had one of those (after a failed induction), it was very calm.Only I got the baby rage just before my time, with each.

We had cabin fever after 4 days at home, and went to the beach. Well, 10 mins on walking in a force 7 (I'd guess) and we were all soaked and worn out. Stopped at a marksies cafe for hot choc and cookies on the way home, so spent £22, as we needed percy pigs too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/02/2017 19:09

Bike above the bed! Missed that. You are a more tolerant woman than me.

ememem84 · 21/02/2017 19:16

And me! knitting that's some serious tolerance. Dh kept his bike indoors for a year. Despite having a lock and a cover for it. It wasn't a special bike. Well apparently it would get too cold outside.

I told him it had to go outside or I was selling it. It may have fallen on me one to many times when I walked past it.

New make up arrived today. Was selected to be a mumsnet tester for bare minerals. Yippee.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 21/02/2017 19:22

snuggly I think pregnancy rage is a real thing. I used to have people at the door with DPs eBay tat just when I'd convinced my toddler to nap so I could nap Angry. Also got a lot of taxi phone calls as BT gave us an old taxi firms number Hmm

I still seem to be suffering from a flu thing but also got very anxious and stressed yesterday so it's a bad combination

£40 on Tesco delivery
CC balance on track to be below the amount I want on it this month. Pay the balance off in full each month but trying to keep the balance low IYSWIM

Beeneatingburnttoast · 21/02/2017 19:34

Welcome baby and char

Just found your site all . Will be some good reading on the train! Looks good

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 19:35

Isn't the bike above the bed a bit... offputting?! Blush :o

I'm being brave - trying to anyway - writing about disability on my blog. Eep.

FoolandFitz · 21/02/2017 20:14

No jumping on the bed for you then knitting. You are very tolerant, I'd be worried it would fall on me in the middle of the night.

£3.45 in Sainsburys for drinks and popcorn and snacks (for 4) to sneak into
cinema, which was £13 (for 2). DS and I went to see Sing with friends. I really enjoyed it.

mammymammyIRL · 21/02/2017 20:41

I would also worry about bike falling on me in bed Grin

Au pair backed into my car this evening, no real damage but she was really upset. I'd planned an early night but drove her to her friends house as she was too upset to drive & have kept on to her grandson here while she's gone plus need to collect her afterwards. Hard to put a 3 year old to bed when he doesn't speak your language, he understands what I'm saying alright, hope little mite is ok.

I'm smothered with cold.
Snuggly my heart goes out to you, remember that feeling well

Welcome char

mammymammyIRL · 21/02/2017 20:49

I spent €6.65 today on lunch because I ate most of my lunch at 10 am tea break Blush

mammymammyIRL · 21/02/2017 21:05

Lovely post today €10 boots voucher from Irish opinions surveys & €10 off €100 Tesco delivery. We haven't shopped there in quite a while Grin

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 21/02/2017 21:16

The bike is by far and away the most valuable thing in the house, dp sold his motorbike to buy it. It is very secure! Though swings ominously when the window is open! I'm told this is its winter resting place, and he will ride it all summer, am Hmm about that. I sensibly keep my bike(s) at the shop.

Had an odd store cupboard tea, mince and potato pie with tinned sweetcorn and lost at the back of the fridge mange tout. Was quite yummy, and not a scrap left. Conned ds with a 'sausage roll' made with a mince filling, he ate most of it. Has never allowed mince passed his lips before, small steps.
