lifelongfrugaleer · 21/02/2017 06:57

Been, use the examples of they hit the job requirements especially if they are good ones

WreckTangled · 21/02/2017 07:18

Been go for it. What's the worst that can happen?

I'm at work should be a nsd as brought lunch with me. Ds coughed non stop for two hours last night and was sick three times because of it. Anyone know a magic cough cure? It's not chesty just tickly.

ememem84 · 21/02/2017 07:34

wreck Vicks on feet with socks overnight. My grandma swore by it. It won't make it go away but will ease it.

Payday today. Balances are:

Joint ac £995
My ac £257
Penny ac £16.54
Cc £0. Or it will be once payment has cleared.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2017 07:37

Wreck Is he too young for pholocodiene?

WreckTangled · 21/02/2017 07:42

Vicks doesn't help unfortunately, we've tried that one. Umm I think so fluffy he's four?

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2017 07:49

Bugger. They used to give them laudenam in the old days.

allthebestplease · 21/02/2017 07:50

Apparently dairy products are very bad I you have a cough and should be avoided. Lots of fresh fruit and colourful fruit so strawberries, grapes, blueberries etc (not bananas).
Lemon in water to drink.

Pay day today for dh. I'm going for an extra frugal month, hopefully dh will too. I was about to buy a new bra last night (on line) as it was cheaper by £7 than the one I tried on in the shop. But I stopped myself as I didn't really need it.
Its a short month to next pay day so no excuses!

Ipsomatic · 21/02/2017 08:16

Wreck have you tried calpol? That works on my ds to stop a cough. Sorry if that's too obvious a suggestion.

It's a horrible day here - windy and rainy. I'm craving some sunshine.

I've to go to the hairdressers shortly. Hoping my new hair do doesn't get soaked.

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 11:07

Hot squash or apple juice with honey is soothing, but what I find helps best with tickly scratchy throats is crisps!

babyinarms · 21/02/2017 12:27

Hi all. ... can I join pease...? Nee to get frugal badly xx

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2017 13:24

Everyone's welcome Baby

Knitting, what's the best way to store dhs massive mountain bike in the garage? I need something wall or ceiling mounted that 100% won't scratch the frame. Preferably ceiling mounted actually.

I keep a car in the garage must to dhs disappointment Grin

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 13:27

Welcome baby :)

Cagliostro · 21/02/2017 13:30

Was it all who had a frugal blog? Can anyone link me to it, I've lost it from my history! 😳

CremeEggThief · 21/02/2017 13:30

Nice to 'see' you, BabyinarmsSmile Read through our threads and the click links in the opening posts of the threads when you get a chance.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 21/02/2017 13:42

fluffy this is the best we have come up with. £13 from amazon. Just check the weights of bike and carrier thing. This hangs above my bed. I am very tolerant...

SnugglySnerd · 21/02/2017 13:43

Welcome, Baby.

I am finding today very frustrating/stressful. I have various jobs I need to do including piles of washing. I stripped DD's bed this morning and haven't had a chance to put new sheets on yet as I have had one interruption after another. 3 cold callers on the phone and another at the door. Also feel like the neighborhood parcel depot and keep having to get up and answer the door. DD has not stopped talking all day. I have just put Frozen on in the hope of getting some peace and she keeps asking me questions about it. My mum is here and also won't stop talking/asking me things. What I would really like to do is go to bed. Sorry I'm ranting, I am really tired and irritable.
Going to go and sort out some washing and hopefully I'll be left alone!

Char22thom · 21/02/2017 13:44

Am I allowed to join too? X

babyinarms · 21/02/2017 14:03

Thanks all....will do creme.... hope u r day improves snuggly !

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2017 14:14

Good grief and I thought I was good overlooking the amp & pedal board in the lounge! What is that kind of thing called please Knitting? I know nothing about bikes.

Snuggly you need to stop opening the door. I only answer if I'm expecting someone. I've even switched the doorbell off. Don't take in parcels, this is not the time to be a good neighbour, everyone's stopped asking me now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2017 14:15

Welcome Char

Ipsomatic · 21/02/2017 14:27

Snuggly I stopped taking parcels while ds was small, up until very recently. It just wasn't practical. Might be a good idea to mention to neighbours that you can't do it any more. My neighbour got very cheesed off as I just refused them at the door and it would have been better if I'd thought to explain. I'm impressed that your can change sheets at all at this stage of things.

Quiet day here, sort of. NSD about to be shattered by grocery order.

Thanks fluffy Smile I am needing to be a bit more frugal (ok a lot more-you get the idea!) in order to try and actually save some money 💵 rather than spending every penny and having nothing left (or much to show for it) xx

WreckTangled · 21/02/2017 14:28

Thanks everyone. I've got him an appointment tomorrow I swear he's had this forever and I'm wondering if he has post nasal drip or something.
